"For a local favorite on Central Avenue in downtown St. Pete, try Casita Taqueria, where the menu features tacos on fresh corn tortillas, homemade salsa, slow-cooked meats, and Mexican-style sandwiches called tortas. Guests can also look forward to specialty items like flautas (fried corn tortillas stuffed with Oaxacan cheese and shredded meat) and healthier Casita Bowls with veggies, beans, and rice. Order at the counter, then grab a seat at one of the picnic tables outside and sip a cold beer or sangria while you wait for your food to arrive. If you find yourself in other parts of the city, Casita has two additional locations on Fourth Street North and 66th Street North." - Susan B. Barnes

loved the atmosphere! great service, unfortunately the food did miss a little for me. chips and queso was great but the chicken tacos were lightly seasoned, the corn tortilla was not cooked or warm. i did swap for the flour tortillas which i would recommend! side of rice and beans was okay but not necessary. overall i would stop by again and maybe try something different. pollo tinga taco: 3/5 pollo verde tacos: 2/5 (not much flavor) carne asada tacos: 2/5 meat was very chewy rice and beans: 3/5 chips queso: 5/5

Decent spot for tacos, but not the best I’ve had. I tried the fish tacos, and they were okay—fresh but a bit under-seasoned for my taste and overcooked. The toppings were good, but the tortillas could have been warmer. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. Worth a try if you’re in the area.

Go here right now!!! Hands down best fish tacos lime marinated shredded lettuce and carrots slaw 😋. Also had the special cornstarch shrimp tacos - gluten free 👀 and OFF THE CHAIN! 🥳House made scratch plus an Awesome place to chill out and staff that is knowledgeable warm and super fast with getting you the goods. We had steak asada nachos, carnitas tacos, fish tacos and shrimp tacos. A side of light crispy corn chips that I could not stop eating. it was too yummy to stop at my usual two tacos- I had three. Will come back to hang out and have some drinks next time.

Google
99% of the time when you order Quesabirria you expect this crunchy crispy taco that’s loaded with flavor. What you get here is soft sad quesadillas that happen to have birria in them Side of rice and beans is minuscule I had a better meal at Taco Bell the other night

Google
Very nice spot! Near everything else. Menu is not overwhelming whilst still offering ample options. Prices are not too bad, either. Their wine based margaritas taste more like a limearita but it was still delicious and a fair price enough to try it. The tacos were delicious and the salsa was fresh. They were quite busy, so the wait wasn't the best, but they do bring the food out to you. Plenty of seating in and outdoors. Def will come back to try.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this phenomenal tacos restaurant, and let me tell you, it was an experience worth raving about! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a comforting ambiance adorned with colorful decor that exuded warmth and hospitality. The cozy vibe combined with the option for outdoor seating made it an inviting choice for a meal. Not only was the atmosphere welcoming, but the service was also top-notch. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive, readily answering any questions we had and ensuring our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the tacos! The menu boasted an incredible variety of options, making it hard to choose just one. We decided to sample several, and each one was more delicious than the last. The flavors were outstanding, and the presentation was impeccable. One standout feature was the hot sauce selection. As a spice enthusiast, I was thrilled to find an array of options, and the hottest one quickly became my favorite, adding an extra kick to each bite. In terms of pricing, this restaurant offers excellent value for the quality of food provided. The portions were generous, and every bite was worth it. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough! Whether you're craving traditional tacos or looking to spice things up with unique flavors, this restaurant has it all. With its inviting atmosphere, attentive service, and mouthwatering food, it's a must-visit for taco lovers everywhere. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Google
Phenomenal!!! My husband and I call Casita our “Burrito Spot”. We’ve visited both Tyrone and Central locations and have yet to be disappointed. The food is sensational! Always fresh and flavorful. The staff goes above and beyond always. Their sweet tea is delicious and made fresh daily. I’ve tried so many items off of their delicious menu- the image attached is the Casita bowl with carne asada and guacamole with chips. I absolutely love the brussel sprouts taco and their queso is to melt for!! Highly recommend! 10/10

Google
Good, chill taco spot. Tacos tastes authentic when compared to big box shops like Chipotle. $4-5 tacos. Great lunch spot.

Yelp
I loveeee this place. Tampa Bay is pretty lacking in great options for this style of food. But this is so consistent, so delicious, and just one of my forever favs. I first tried this place out 5 years ago on a visit - and it's just as good as I remember. I probably order at least once a week now that I live here. Standouts: Salsa Roja - SO good. I always get extra to dump on other foods I have. Pescado Tacos - Fried. Perfect size, great flavor. Pescado Burrito - Okay, I obviously love the fish. But this is just so yummy. I usually get it without rice. Pollo Tinga Burrito bowl - The guac is awesome. The flavor combo? So good! You really can't go wrong and the service is always great too. The staff handles lines quickly and kindly. The inside is cute, but I love sitting outside on a nice day and walking around after.

Yelp
I have been to Casita Taqueria a few times (both this location and the Tyrone location) and each time was underwhelmed. Everything tasted fine but I felt it was a bit overpriced for fine. However, I am compelled to HIGHLY recommend the daily homemade soup I had. I am sorry I don't know the name but it was some kind of creamy pepper and it was AMAZING. I also had the salad and was again underwhelmed. The bottom was soggy and it was just ok. I left probably half of it and I still kick myself for not ordering more of the soup to go.

Yelp
Cool restaurant on Central Av. I tried a carne asada taco and carnitas flautas. The carne asada taco was delicious, but the flautas, which are one of my favorite dishes at Mexican restaurants, tasted too much like frying oil and the carnitas hasn't flavored, and I couldn't enjoy them. I don't like spicy food, but the salsa verde is TOP, the perfect for me. It has a good atmosphere and great customer service. Maybe I'll go back for the carne asada tacos.

Yelp
This taqueria is a must visit whenever I swing through downtown St Pete. The staff is so friendly! The food is always delish and we've tried most of it. The indoor/outdoor seating is plentiful although parking can be a challenge on some nights. The back patio is ideal for families as kids can frolick while their parents eat.

Amber G.

Yelp
Love the casita bowl and the tacos. This has become one of our go-to places over the years. Chips and guacamole are fantastic as well as their margaritas! Staff is super helpful and always give us suggestions for different items to eat. Highly recommend this place. There is inside and outdoor seating and dogs are welcomed.

Kathleen S.

Yelp
My favorite taco place in the area. Not only do that have great tacos, but the space is relaxing. I love to meet a friend here before a show

J Z.

Yelp
Parking was a little difficult as there's only a few spots in the lot thankfully there was street parking available. The inside was spacious and outdoor seating was also available. I ordered chips and guac and 2 different tacos to go. The food was ready in minutes! Perfect for anyone on a tight lunch break. The guac was very fresh and seasoned well and the chips were fresh crispy and perfectly salted. The Barbacoa taco was definitely the better of the two as the chicken tinga had a strange taste to it. The sauce bar had 3 different options, a Smokey one, a spicy honey based one, and a green one. The only one I wasn't a fan of was the green one which was surprisingly the emptiest bottle of the 3. Not the most authentic but not bad either.

Cori G.

Yelp
Ok taco. I prefer hard shell tacos. Pretty good nothing unusual. Good price. Popular place. Good service.

Laura G.

Yelp
Went with my husband and we had chips, salsa, guacamole and queso to start. Fantastic dips!! Hot flavorful queso, fresh avocado in the guac, perfectly ripe. Salsa was not too spicy but good. Then an order of flautas with pollo tinga, a barbacoa taco and a pollo tinga taco. The flautas were hot, cheesy, and filled with meat. The dipping sauce was a perfect addition. The barbacoa taco and pollo tinga taco were filled with meat and seasoned perfectly. We give this place a 10 out of 10!! Oh and we had two ice cold Negro Modelos too. We will be back!!

Alivia G.

Yelp
The tacos are ok, definitely not the best or most authentic but they are reasonably priced and pretty good. The taco bowl is good and filling and another affordable. They have great outdoor seating, 1 patio in the front and 1 in the back. Would come back if i was looking for a quick bite in the area but wouldn't necessarily tell others to go. Workers are great and service is quick. (disclaimer- i am bit of a mexican food snob)

Maria L.

Yelp
Good happy hour for the area: $2.75 for each select taco from their special HH menu. While the chicken tinga taco had a bit of a kick to it, it was otherwise very underwhelming -- I wouldn't order it again (2.5/5?). The beef barbacoa taco on the other hand, was much better: Significantly-bolder flavor, braised in a YUM sauce (I'd say 4/5). Service has always been good to me. Seating is quite uncomfortable in the backless, long communal picnic tables in the front, but better inside or in the back. It is unfortunate that we have such underwhelming options for Mexican food in our area, but Casita Taqueria is at least worth checking out during their happy hour -- particularly for their beef barbacoa tacos (and maybe also for the shrimp tacos I had on a different visit). So for the right price, it can be alright.

Hernan P.

Yelp
I love this place!!!! whenever I am in the area I make it a point to eat here. The food is absolutely delicious!! Service is impecable and the ambiance is pretty chill. If you're in the area give this place a try you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Casita Taqueria is a great option if you are in the St. Petersburg, Florida area and craving some solid tacos. Casita Taqueria has a very cool vibe and ambiance. The staff here is extremely friendly and professional. I went with tacos and I was extremely impressed with the tacos here at Casita Taqueria. I am a huge fan of Mexican food and I am always happy to find great Mexican food. Casita Taqueria is is definitely a solid choice for Mexican food and I would definitely recommend Casita Taqueria. If you find yourself in the St. Petersburg, Florida area and craving Mexican food, I would definitely recommend heading towards Casita Taqueria.

Jessica B.

Yelp
I give 5 stars because they have indoor and outdoor seating. They sell Mexican food at a reasonable price. There is parking. Its in a good location. The staff s friendly. They also serve alcohol, so whats not to love about this casual spot. The aesthetic is nice, not ugly.

Abby D.

Yelp
Super pleased with our meal here!! I got the burrito bowl with steak and their steak was absolute 10/10. Could taste the char from the grill -- so good. My boyfriend's fav taco was the carnitas one but all were delicious. No hard alcohol here, just wine and beer. I ordered the margarita (which had wine) and was surprisingly impressed! Delicious and refreshing! All in all, solid Mexican staple in St. Pete

Yelp
I needed to update my review, and I apologize for the harshness in my review over a year ago! this is my go to place if I ever eat out on taco Tuesdays. I stick with the basic blackened shrimp tacos with queso and chips. I also like to add the habanero honey sauce for an extra kick. The service here is always amazing and the workers are always friendly. I do want to point out the one male tonight. I never got his name but ended up telling a homeless man to go in a very polite manner before it escalated. I have seen this homeless man before in st. Pete and it has gotten ugly. I told the worker he did a great job! 9.6 tacos! (updated and again apologize!) Scale system 10/10 would be what I want for my last meal 9.9-9.3 driving out of my way to get this 9.2-8.0 like the place and would go back 7.9-7.0 I would come here again if it were presented and don't have anything bad to say 6.9 and below - thanks but no thanks after try one

Wishful T.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood go to for great tacos! Happy hour from 4 to 6 is fantastic. If you have a chance to try the potato poblano soup, do not miss the opportunity! Brussels sprout tacos are amazing for vegetarians. Queso is one of best I have had. Salsa options are on point and indoor and outdoor dining is great - especially when it isn't rush hour on 66th st. The service is always friendly and prompt. Love this place!

Hannah A.

Yelp
This was the perfect taco spot after a weekend beach trip in St. Pete! We got a variety of tacos and chicken nachos. Everything was super affordable and the location of the restaurant was really nice for a short walk after eating. Will be returning!

Mara M.

Yelp
Delicious food, lots of seating options and fast and friendly service! Our tacos were delicious, as were the chips and salsa. Really enjoyed our meal here!

Arwen S.

Yelp
They always serve great food with quick service. The space is nice and sizable, with front and back outdoor seating.

Melanie C.

Yelp
Quick food at a good price. Sometimes hit or miss on how busy it is. It's not true authentic so don't expect that but it's good enough to keep me coming back.

Shernea D.

Yelp
We were in Saint Pete for an event and decided to try this restaurant because of our love for tacos? My husband and I were pleasantly surprised! The service was great! The food was delicious... (we tried some of each of the various tacos) We even enjoyed the music playing overhead. It was crowded on Saturday night, but they didn't skip a beat.... Everything about this experience was nothing short of impressive. We were in Saint Pete again yesterday, but unfortunately the restaurant was closed. We were disappointed, but will definitely return when we are in the area and we highly recommend.

K M.

Yelp
We very much enjoyed this restaurant. The tacos were honest, tasty, and very well priced. The burrito was also delicious. Didn't take any pictures, we were too hungry, sorry. Service was great and it was a wonderful place to just sit down and look at some very interesting wall art. We will return.

Skylar W.

Yelp
Solid tacos, chips, and guac and super affordable! Would definitely return. I got the mahi, carne asada, and pollo verde. There's plenty of seating indoor and outdoor, but we opted to sit inside in this Florida heat during lunch. My friend got a burrito with double meat and it was a large portion and very filling!

Oscar L.

Yelp
The tacos were amazing, especially the pescado (cod) tacos. Extremely juicy and full of flavor. The server was also very kind. You order your food at the front and take a seat anywhere. Someone will call your name and walk around to bring your food out to you. There's great seating both indoors and outdoors. Happy hour is 4-6pm with $2.50 tacos. There is some parking on the side.

Katie K.

Yelp
My husband and I came here as out-of-towners, and WOW!! Best tacos ever! The quality and price are impossible to beat. Come!!!! I ordered the carne asada and camarones tacos! Phenomenal.

Jamie W.

Yelp
Visiting relatives and stopped here for dinner. Wish we had known about happy hour, we were just 45 minutes past time! They have some amazing happy hour specials. This is a counter service restaurant with self-seating. They have a lot of seating area, but it is mostly uncovered so be aware of that if there is rain. I opted for flautas filled with carnitas. It is an appetizer on the menu, but it comes with 3 good sized flautas. I also had guacamole and chips (they are sold separately so be aware of that). The flautas came out piping hot and crispy. Perfection in a bite. The guacamole is very small, so not sharable, but it was very good, and the chips were nice and salty. Everyone enjoyed their meals at our table. It is a great area for outdoor dining. I will be back to try other menu items and hit their happy hour for sure!

Casey G.

Yelp
Food was delicious, service was quick and pricing was great. Pictured: fried pescado & chorizo tacos w/guac.

Ricky P.

Yelp
The customer service was A+. Loved the vibe and kindness of everyone. The food is really affordable and great portion sized. Ordered me a casitas bowl with carne asada, a quesadilla with carne asada, and chips. The bowl was amazing. Full of great flavor and the carne asada was rich in flavor, very juicy, but not greasy and leaking. Highly recommend this spot whenever you want authentic Mexican food and are in the area. I certainly has this place on my go to list anytime I come back and visit the St Pete/Tampa area.

Chris T.

Yelp
The burrito is food's final form and it is burritoful indeed. The seafood burrito here is such a good deal. Just $8.50 and you get a shrimp filled burrito as big as your head, perfect for sharing with a partner... A baeritto if you will. After hitting the beach with my doggo, this place was perfect. Covered patio is dog friendly (bc heat) and has a ton of seating, plus they brought out an ice water bowl unprompted (all the feels).

Eric T.

Yelp
Tacos are so fire and fresh. Place is always busy. Food always comes out fast and hot. We've been here three times. We will definitely be coming back.

Brigitte P.

Yelp
Always a fan of Casita Taqueria - this was walking distance from my old house and we would come here often. I highly recommend the tacos - my preference is the roasted pork, flank steak, or braised beef. Top with only onions, cilantro and lime and you are on your way to a delicious lunch, dinner, or snack!

Cara B.

Yelp
So delicious. Outdoor seating. Great food. Margaritas are tasty. Fresh chips and guac. Tacos and bowls are delicious. Prices are lower than other St. Pete restaurants. 10/10.

Mayra B.

Yelp
Got a couple of tacos to go and was satisfied. It was all so flavorful and meat was tender. Some tacos were a little spicy but I had no issue since I love spicy but my bf on the other hand couldn't handle it. Would love to come back to try a burrito or torta. After reading reviews I was convinced to come check them out. Was not disappointed! Would recommend carne asada and carnita tacos. Fish taco was dry an over cooked though. Also got variety of chicken tacos and they were juicy.

Megan K.

Yelp
Straightforward meals, dependable service, cheap drinks. It's not too loud, even if football is on the TV. Got vegetarian meals and had more than enough leftovers for 2 days!

Marcy H.

Yelp
Great reasonably priced Mexican fast food. Coconut shrimp tacos were the best! Good chips and salsa too.

Karey S.

Yelp
The food is amazing! I had broccoli queso soup and a chicken burrito. Absolutely delicious, affordable and plentiful. Will be back!

Elaine M.

Yelp
Fresh, healthy, tasty, and very affordable option when eating out in downtown St. Pete. Since food prices have gone up, I went to Yelp and filtered my options to show the most affordable and recommended restaurants in the area. Casita Taqueria was the first option, and I was surprised by all the great prices on their menu. Parking was limited, and the line was long for dinner time, which is a good sign. We ordered the blackened mahi mahi and the shrimp beans and rice bowls. These bowls include beans, rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, crema, and cilantro, and are served with chips or tortillas. It was delicious. We ate inside, but there is plenty of outdoor seating. We loved the interior's traditional Mexican decoration, and the service was very friendly.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Tacos were okay but a bit on the pricier side. I tried Al pastor and was not impressed.

Sabine M.

Yelp
OMG!!! The tacos!! Amazing. Prices for individual tacos range from $3.50 to four something.... Super value, for the money!! This place has character. There are no walls, and there's tons of indoor and outdoor space. If you love street tacos, run! You have to try this place.

Smitty Y.

Yelp
Food was excellent, fresh, nice people. Not real fast but fresh is a little slower every place I go. Will be going back often. Good food guys, nice job !

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Friendly staff made my day. I enjoyed my flavorful and delicious tacos - I tried the pollo verde and pescado tacos! Nice atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. However, the margaritas are weak...would go again for some tacos but I'd skip the margarita.

Joanna M.

Yelp
4/5 I love this place! I came here on a Friday night with some friends. The line to order was out the door so I was concerned that it would take forever to get our food but our food came out pretty quickly! I ordered the spicy marg and the casita bowl. The casita bowl is amazing! I love how avocado is included in the bowl (unlike chipotle) and the included side of chips is a great touch. Highly recommend ordering the bowl if you're here! The spicy marg wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. I thought it had too much marg mix and wasn't strong enough. I did get a slight hint of spice but it really wasn't spicy enough to be considered a spicy marg in my opinion. The location is great, it's a convenient spot to grab a bite before you hit the bars downtown for the night. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place! I look forward to coming back and trying the tacos.

Miriam B.

Yelp
Do not miss out on the wonderful food at this place, it never disappoints. Even though I was skeptical about trying their soup since it's a taco restaurant, after my girlfriend raved about it, I gave it a chance, and it was fantastic. The soup is a must-try, so flavorful. It's a fantastic spot to grab a delicious, quick, and affordable meal.

Ashley A.

Yelp
This place does exactly what they set out to do--serve awesome tacos and local beer. As a former Austinite, I have had some over-hyped and underwhelming tacos. These definitely live up to the hype. We had: -- chips and salsa: great chips, not greasy, simple but flavorful salsa (not spicy) -- white sangria: fresh, nothing special but good --chorizo taco: five stars literally just for this -- carnitas taco: super juicy but not overly fatty/greasy meat, very good --camarones taco: very good, nothing too crazy --mahi taco: delicious, will definitely order again Service: casual, chill, accommodating. I received two shrimp tacos instead of a fish and a shrimp, we let them know (which I really hate doing) they promptly apologized and made the fish taco with no fuss. The ambiance: also casual and chill, it was a nice day so the garage doors were open and the breeze was flowing. Nice place to grab a fast bite and a drink.

Amber H.

Yelp
This casita, and any casita in the area you go to is just fire. The food is alaways amazing, reasonable prices, and quick service! This location on the weekends might have a line out the door, but it's worth the wait. Like I said, the service is always quick and quality, and the food is yummmmmmm delicious! My go to order is a Brussel sprout taco, camarone (shrimp, I do fried!) taco, chips and salsa (their quac and queso are also super delicious) and a red sangria! I'm tell you, you can't go wrong! They have ample seating, some in the front patio, back patio, and inside (with a/c)!

Robert K.

Yelp
What a place. once again a group of us (21) went here on our fun bus. You ordered your food at the counter at the entrance to the restaurant. We ordered the Casita Bowl with chicken and A Casita Bowl with shrimp. Also had their homemade chips were beyond good. What a treat and delicious food. Service was great. Will definitely go back without hesitation.

Tobey S.

Yelp
When we ordered the food, as soon as we got it, it was ice cold. The meals were small in portion and my brother found a hair in his food. Although, the server swapped out our food for hot food once we asked. The ambiance wasn't too much of an issue, but to add on to the horrible food, annoyingly the people next to us were a larger party and hollering. I couldn't hear my brother next to me. Food Quality: The food quality was horrible, the meat was dry and horrible in texture, the chips were extremely salty, and overall unsatisfactory. my overall total was 50!! Definitely not worth it, especially for the portion size.

Alexis A.

Yelp
Very cute restaurant on central ave. Lots of outdoor seating. You order at the counter and food is brought out to you. The tacos were delicious! And the queso is too too good! Dangerous level. We thought they had a taco Tuesday, but they don't. They have a weekday happy hour from 4-6 with a variety of tacos for $2.
