Beautiful boutique hotel about half a block from the gardin. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Very comfortable rooms that are air conditioned, which is nice as it can get a little warm in the summer. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures before we settled in so please excuse the unmade beds. They have a total of eight rooms and only one has two beds. The location is great and has easy access to everything in the historical center of the city. The only negative I can list is that the parking lot is a couple miles away, it makes sense once you see the hotel location. The parking is free and secure and you just need to call them to tell them you're arriving and they will open the gate and arrange transport to the hotel. We didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant but it smelled great and a lot of people come in just to eat. They also have a really cool bar and lounge below the hotel. Call them directly to book your room and they will match or beat any third party room rates. We went around for a couple hours when we had time to kill and checked out other hotels in the area. There were several nice ones but most do not offer A/C and honestly none were as friendly. We will definitely stay here every time we visit Guanajuato.

No elevators. Caution if you have difficulty with stairs.|The "Free Parking" is 20 from the 30 minutes hotel. Beautiful small hotel with a really welcoming staff that puts you in the center of Guanajuato. |Our room was on the front corner right next to the club. We also stayed Friday and Saturday. But we always travel with ear plugs and a portable white noise and to be honest, the bed was so comfortable that we managed a good night’s sleep. A room away from the club would certainly be something to ask for. |We had breakfast both mornings and really enjoyed the food. Definitely try a cafe de olla, although the cafe americano is very good.||Many thanks to the welcoming staff in the restaurant, front desk amd kitchen.|We highly recommend this small hotel.

We and another couple came to GTO for Festival Cervantino and chose this hotel due to its proximity to Teatro Juarez and centro. Little did we know that immediately next door is the Grill Night Club, open 4-5 nights each week until 5:00 am. The thumping house music shook our room, and it was impossible to sleep -- even with ear plugs. One friend even tried sleeping in the bathroom floor, further away from the club, but that didn't help. He refused to stay a second night, instead returning home to San Miguel in a private car AND throwing away his ticket to a Cervantino event for that evening. We spoke with the front desk about why there is no noise curfew, and the receptionist replied, "They are very rich." That's it. I later wrote the hotel management and they replied that it was only a Cervantino problem -- with clubs staying open later than normal. That's factually incorrect. There are TA reviews commenting on this situation dating back to 2015. I wish I had read htem. The website and social media pages for the Grill say they are open til 5am year around -- and have been for decades. The management promised me that someone from the hotel would call me last Monday. They never called or tried to make amends, so I am writing this review. Whether other aspects of the hotel were good is irrelevant -- this was the most heinous hotel experience ever. Don't make the same mistake.

Cute boutique hotel, very conveniently located. Traditional yet trendy decor, with beautiful art placed everywhere, all over the hotel. Lots of nice touches, like a tequila drink at check in and a complementary cultural experience. We really enjoyed our mezcal tasting with Cristian at the subsidio bar. The restaurant is one of the highest rated restaurants in town. The breakfast was very nice, however next time I would not pre-pay for breakfast as the options were limited to eggs and chilaquiles (would prefer to pay separate and order anything the menu as there are amazing options!). Very nice staff. Air conditioned, comfortable rooms. It was loud at night as one of the biggest nightclubs is close by, so bring earplugs. Though Wifi password was provided, unfortunately it didn't work our entire stay (only worked for a few minutes during a span of 48 hours). This was an issue for me as I needed for business purposes. I would stay here again but would hope the Wifi would be better next time. Casa del Rector is a sister property that is also nice, more expensive, near Museo Diego Rivera.

It was a long climb up 3 steep flights to access our room, but it was worth it. The room was a great mix of historic charm and modern amenities. Staff was warm and helpful. The bathroom, however was not great. There was a perpetual smell of raw sewage, fixtures were in need of replacement, no water pressure, and always damp. For the price, I expected a much better bathroom. Parking is $200 pesos per day, and hotel is nearly impossible to find. No signage on exterior.

A wonderful historic atmosphere: very beautifully decorated. Not only was the food amazing, but it was really well priced. Our children raved about their meals, especially the omelette and orange juice. My husband said the hot chocolate was some of the best that he has had.

What an excellent hotel Alonso 10 is! The staff are all friendly and helpful; the food served in the dining room is excellent; and the rooms, all named after Mexican/Guanajuatense painters, are large, super-clean, comfortable, and climate controlled. [We stayed in ‘Jesús Gallardo’ (great bed!), but peeped into several of the other rooms on our floor after the guests had vacated.] Our room’s bathroom (the only one I can comment on, obviously) was large and well-supplied with toiletries, and had a great shower with two types of nozzle. The hotel is close enough to the Jardín for easy access to restaurants and sights, but just far enough away so guests are not subjected to the nonstop nighttime merrymaking there. We’ll certainly be returning to Guanajuato and won’t consider staying anywhere else.
