I stayed at this hotel for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The property is a former mansion that once belonged to a Peruvian president who served from 1899 to 1903. He purchased it during that time and lived here after his term ended. Staying here feels like being part of history, and the rooms are beautifully designed with high ceilings. If you enjoy historical buildings like I do, you will definitely appreciate it. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was spotless, and the location was convenient. I’m glad I chose this place instead of a traditional hotel.

We stayed in the little apartment at Hotel Casona Solar. It was a lovely setting with two courtyards and a good basic breakfast. We enjoyed hanging out with the cats who spent time in the courtyards. Big fluffy comforters and nice beds. Very conveniently located near the main plaza. Hotel staff was friendly and provided great restaurant recommendations. ||Be aware that the hotel is not heated. Our room was cold the entire time we were there. If they had portable heaters, they didn't offer one to us. The spiral staircase in our unit was exceptionally steep with narrow steps. It worked okay for us, but it would not be a good choice for younger kids or anyone with mobility impairment. Also, the shower didn't have great water pressure and we never had super hot water (it got warm, though, after running it for awhile).

Our family of 5 occupied two rooms for two nights during Semana Santa. Pros: The location of this hotel is excellent. We were within walking distance of the main plaza and found what we needed within a few blocks any which way. The property itself is beautiful and we enjoyed spending time in the courtyard in front of our rooms. There was plenty of seating, including umbrellas, for us to enjoy time talking with one another or reading. Cons: There was a very strong odor of a toilet tablet or other cleaning material in the bathroom. It made us a bit queasy and even with the fan running, it never really went away. The only toiletries provided was an unnamed soap (body and shampoo? Just body?) located in the shower dispenser. When I read "toiletries provided" I plan my packing around that information. The towels were a bit worn and could use an update. Breakfast was a bit slow to roll out on our last morning so we had to rush a bit to ear before being picked up for our trip to Colca Canyon. Bottom line: For the price paid per night we feel that Hotel Casona Solar was a good value. With some improvements in the areas mentioned above, it'd be a 5 star stay for sure.

This Casona couldn’t be better, it felt so much like home - the staff and the owners are delightful, they really made sure we had everything we needed, and the atmosphere is really cozy. The breakfast is great and everything is so clean, the room had such a nice smell and little details! it’s the best place we’ve stayed in Peru

Cozy colonial style hotel with outstanding friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious, rooms unique and spacious. Host recommends local actovities and places. Garden is well maintained and lovely. Only downside was shower, because temperature was hard to adjust.

Very cozy hotel central in Arequipa. The rooms feels spacy because of the high roof. One negative to mention is that the rooms are not very sound proof, and that a crazy cat is meowing through the night. I wasn't too botheted but it's nice to be aware off for those who are. Didn't get to try the breakfast.

There was no reason not to like this hotel because from the first minutes to the last moment we were truly surrounded by excellent service, beautiful design, and architecture.all the restaurants all the city attractions the central square is just around the corner you can buy all sorts of fancy delicious local delicacies whatever you need everything is here at your fingertips and the prices are really cheap. The breakfast was amazing as they even bake own grain bread like one we have in Lithuania. Special thanks do Donila helping to sort things out. Recommend and will bring more people to this lovely place! 👌

Amazing stay! We were here 2 nights, 1 night at the apartment and another at a 3-bed room. Such unique rooms, we loved it. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. When our local activities started earlier than their breakfast, they packed us bagged breakfasts to take with us. Very thoughtful. Only a few minute walk to the plaza d'arms where everything in the historical district is easily walkable.
