We did the Full Day trip and loved it! A big Catamaran vessel to take us to this beautiful place then a small boat (tender) took us in about 50 metres to the island. Lazed on the white sand, snorkelled from the beach in the crystal clear water (clean snorkels & fins were provided) and had a delicious lunch buffet. The staff were wonderful and the facilities are modern and clean. There were hoby cats, paddle boards, kayaks and a pool available to use but we chose to just chill on the loungers and watch the world go by. A very relaxing island day out. Highly recommend.

What an amzing family holiday destination! This is the second year in a row we have visited castaway as a family of four and we will be coming back again. There is so much to love about this resort - beautiful beach, loads of water activities, kids club, great food - but it’s the staff that really make this place. They are so friendly from the minute you get off the boat to the time they sing you the farewell song. They make you feel so welcome. A huge shout of the Sam who had just started at the resort when we arrived in Aug 2025. A lovely guy who we hope to meet again. Nate in the restaurant was also delightful along with the rest of the staff. Colin was also a stand out not to mention all the kids club staff. |We loved our stay and will be recommending to all our friends (after we have secured our next booking!) thank you for a wonderful stay Castaway!

From the 13th October to the 20th October 2025 my wife, Annette and I spent a truly wonderful week on Castaway Island. It was a week of superb weather with most days between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius. We looked at trip adviser comments before booking and decided that North Beach would be the place to be if we were lucky. As a result we got Bure 15. From the moment we arrived we were treated as part of the Castaway family with many remembering our first names through our whole journey.|We climbed to the top of Qualito Island, snorkeled off the sandbar and fed the colored fish, swam in the sea outside our bure and enjoyed the pool. We enjoyed a wide variety of meals and all were of a very high standard and could not be faulted. The Fijian Cultural night was most appreciated and gave us an insight into the lives of the many staff who cared for us. The lovo cooking pit where that night's meal was prepared was an opportunity to see traditional cooking methods. As we had not been back to Fiji for thirteen years it was great to enjoy the warmth of climate but most of all the Fijian people. Thanks again Castaway.

Lovely place to stay! Paradise! We stayed in an island Bure which was lovely and set back in the bush/planting, felt private. They had everything you could think you needed, even a tub to wash the sand off your feet and clothes lines for wet towels. Restaurants were nice but we didn’t do all-inclusive, just pay as you go. Lovely food, great bacon at breakfast! We took plenty of snacks from home and a bottle from duty free! There is a little supermarket/shop at Port Denerau to grab a few things before catching the ferry out to the island. There’s a small shop at the resort also, sold a bit of everything..medicines, nappies, chocolate. We bought a soft toy which was $10 cheaper than the airport, they also sell lots of floaties (lots of people had these on the beach) Ferry transfer via South Sea cruises was easy, they load and manage all of your luggage which was something I was wondering about. It’s a slick operation! Beach at Castaway is genuinely beautiful, so much that the pools are near empty. Rooms are beautiful - tapa cloth on the ceiling was stunning. The people are amazing. Thank you to everyone for making our holiday special.

We stayed 5 days. The resort is wonderful. I'd stayed 25 years ago, and returned with family to find things better than ever. Setting is incredible - you are in the midst of the Mamanuca islands and reef complex and where Survivor is filmed. We were so well taken care of. Bure was super comfortable and private - we had a garden bure but was perfect for us - beaches are just a couple of hundred feet away. Food and setting for meals was wonderful - breakfast buffet at Waters Edge restaurant amazing way to start each day. All our meals were excellent - we enjoyed a meal at 1808 restaurant (asian themed), and had pizzas at the Sundowner. |Our family is pretty active - during our stay we played tennis, kayaked, hiked to the top of the island, hiked around the island, snorkeled, and did 6 scuba dives. The PADI dive facilities are excellent, and two of our family completed PADI advanced open water certification. This required a deep dive, wreck dive, drift dive, navigation dive, and night dive. All great adventures guided by very professional and experienced PADI instructor Craig L. (we coordinated the dive course ahead of time with Iliano V. the Marine and Watersports Manager and had already completed most of the online course prior to arrival on the island).|We travelled to and from Castaway on the South Seas high speed ferry from Port Denarau - great tour of the islands and other resorts as passengers are dropped off and picked up. About an hour and half out and one hour back. We had a lot of luggage but it was completely managed from check in at the Port, to our Bure on Castaway.|I'm retired engineer and our son is studying engineering in college - we had a private tour of the facilities that keep the island running with Paulo (sp) this was amazing - from desalination system for fresh water to power generation, to wastewater management - it was fascinating. |Manager's night was a great experience - held once a week - complimentary drinks (champagne, rum punch, etc) and food and a lovely story of the history of the island told by the hotel manager. Highly recommend to attend if your dates allow.

Thank you to every single person who works on Castaway Island. Me, my Husband and three children all had such a wonderful time. We stayed for 7 nights. The sunsets are insane, the food is delicious, the kids club is awesome, the Nanny services are fantastic, the staff were incredible, the rooms are great and the facilities are 10/10. Our kids still talk about Mickey & Shrek! |We will definitely be back.

What a glorious spot to enjoy a holiday with family. There are so many wonderful things to say about Castaway Island Resort. The people were so welcoming and friendly. Any question you had or help you needed and there was always someone there to assist. The resort is beautiful, with each Bure perfectly spaced to provide privacy and great views of the water. The beach is clean, the water beautiful, and the snorkelling was a hit for kids and adults. There are activities you will love most nights of the week (don’t miss the eco presentation on Thursday, Koli does an amazing job talking about all the island is doing). If you have kids, then you’re in luck, the kids club is awesome and there are so many other families there that your children will make friends in no time. There are so many included activities from snorkelling and kayaking, to the beach games and pools. The waterpark activity (inflated obstacle course) was a huge hit with our daughter, she absolutely loved it. Both my wife and I tried the spa and the service was really great. One of the biggest joys we had was from the constant music being played by the staff. If they weren’t welcoming new guests to the island, they were serenading diners at every meal, or singing happy birthday to someone every night. The music is glorious and the musicians and singers truly sound great. The only thing to improve was the coffee ordering in the morning would often go missing or take a very long time to arrive. I guess it was happening in Fiji-time. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints, and we’ll be back again next year assuming we can find a booking. Get in early, this place is very popular. Definitely worth it, such a great place to relax and unwind.

My husband and I traveled around Fiji for 3 weeks ending at Castaway Island Resort for a 4 night stay in Bure 29. This was our experience. ||The good:|Bure has a nice setup with a comfortable bed and pillows. A beautiful beach with clear water right outside our doors. We ate one night at Restaurant 1808 and we both enjoyed our dinners. Another night we both order steaks at the Waters Edge and enjoyed those. Pizzas are good with a nice view. The “Bush Walk” trail was great for views and a little workout.||The bad:|Our Bure was dusty and the ceiling fan over our bed did not work. The resort overall is worn and dated and could use a refresh. ||The WiFi is terrible. Only available in the restaurants and barely works there. They tell you they don’t offer wifi throughout so you can disconnect. Using the wifi was very limited and very frustrating.||We didn’t opt for the very costly meal plan (staff at check in told us it’s not worth it) but the pricing here is outrageous for what you’re getting. All prices given in FD$. Breakfast buffet $49 (no menu options available). Lunch buffet $55, dinner buffet is $83-$93 depending on the night (both have optional menus). We ate at the Fiji night buffet. The meats were good but not a lot of other options and food was ok. The staff works hard here but after waiting for 20 minutes for a menu, we had to get up to get our server and then they became attentive to us at a couple of our lunches. ||The “quiet pool and adult only jacuzzi” was loud with many children. We can hear the rambunctious kids all the way to the beach, so we stayed away from the pool. ||I expressed some frustration with the reception desk and they appeared to listen and take notes only to speak with the manger, Joy, the following evening as she was visiting with guest at dinner and she expressed that she had not heard of any complaints. They simply didn’t care. ||At check out, we caught an up charge on our bill for a bottle of wine we had at dinner. We thought we had settled the issue, finalized our bill, and checked out. While waiting for our boat, a trainee approached us about settling a bill. We asked for clarification and the front desk and General Manager, Steven, then got involved. At this point, the tender for our departure was loading. This could have been revisited much earlier. So we explained the situation, again, and showed a photo of what we ordered. Hard to believe they would want to frustrate their guest this way as our final experience and memory at the resort over a mistake they made. ||I find this resort overrated and over priced. I had other issues with this resort, but the above details give you the idea of this place. Out of the 4 other resorts we visited, I rank this one last. Castaway offered less quality and was actually the most expensive compared to the others we experienced. It was not a good value for my money. Our other resort stays were at Marriott Momi Bay, Musket Cove, Tropica, and Hilton Denarau. All of these were amazing!
