We didn’t dislike this place at all! Our waiter was very friendly. The food and drinks are perhaps a bit pricey, but what does one expect around the corner of the Eiffel Tower in the touristic centre? We loved all three: The food, the staff and the atmosphere:-)

Google
We arrived just before midnight. My wife and me ordered 2 pizza's and water. The 2 pizza's were different kind, but looking like there were part of the same pizza base, only cut by the half. Served with a salad on a side,if you can call some green leaves with a small slice of tomato a salad. When you order a pizza 21 euro each, you expect a something more. Probably because of the area, close to the Tour Eiffel. The main problem was the waiter, when I asked the bill and asked to pay by card. When the total came, he unprofessionally implied about the tip and how much tip i should leave. I wouldn't have put this review, as I don't like to give bad reviews. Only the attitude of the waiter at the end, made us think that this is a practice,to imply the ideea of the tip and how much should I give him a tip. When normally I leave a tip,if I am pleased with the dining experience. We think this is a practice, that's happening at this restaurant. We will not be coming back at this restaurant, ever again.

Well, this was not a good choice. We had an Eiffel Tower tour that would take most of the times to eat dinner so we walked over to this place for a quick bite to hold us over. Please do NOT order the pizza. It was 23 euro for a tiny piece of pizza and a small salad - honestly, the pizza tasted like a frozen pizza that wasn't even cooked all the way. The crust was doughy and the toppings were so thin. The place was really cute and actually had some space for a larger group to sit together. That's not a very common sight in Parisian cafes. Our server was fantastic. He realized we were in a time crunch and he really took care of us so we could eat and make our tour start time. Big plus: it's really close to the tower and you have great photo ops of the tower just outside the door of the restaurant. Otherwise, there are too many other places to eat that are much better.

Google
The location is really great, that's why the prices are so high. The management takes advantage of this. It is desirable that the size of the pizza at least be made larger. The onion soup and salad were normal. The staff is attentive and fast, they cheerfully congratulated my daughter on her birthday.

Google
We enjoyed our meal at this place. We sat outside and the hostess and waiter were very accommodating and nice. Waiter made good recommendations and spoke English to us. The food wasn’t outstanding but the atmosphere and customer service made up for it. Overpriced but okay since it was right around from the Eiffel Tower.

Google
We stopped at Le Castle after visiting the Eiffel Tower and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. There were no kids’ meal options, which made it difficult for a family visit. They also refused to serve tap water, which is unusual in France where it’s normally provided. Prices were quite high for the quality and portion sizes, and to top it off, we were asked for a tip — the first time this has happened to us in France. Overall, not a family-friendly or good value choice in the area. I’d recommend looking elsewhere nearby, as there are plenty of cafés and bistros that are more welcoming, reasonably priced, and better suited for families.

⭐️ If negative stars were an option, I’d slam that button so hard my phone would crack. The service? Catastrophic. Our waiter looked like he was auditioning for Most Miserable Human of the Year. He sighed so dramatically while taking our order, you’d think we asked him to donate a kidney instead of bring water. His personality could best be described as “pineapple” — prickly on the outside, and nothing sweet inside. Honestly, the man radiated the energy of someone who’d rather be in trench warfare than delivering food to humans. And the food… oh dear. I didn’t know crepes could double as industrial rubber. Cutting into it was like attempting surgery on a car tire, and chewing it felt like gnawing a rubber duck from the bathtub. One bite in, I pushed it aside. Did the waiter care? Of course not. Checking on customers must not be in his contract. To add insult to injury, the bill could’ve funded a small vacation. Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. In fact, if I ever want revenge on someone, I’ll buy them a gift card here.

Google
The prices were a little on the high side but we were really hungry and decided to eat at the first place we came across. The food turned out to be quite good and I absolutely loved the virgin lemon mojito, hands down the best I’ve had anywhere! The server was incredibly energetic and kind, he even took photos for us and made us feel genuinely welcome. I’d definitely love to come back and try something from their dessert menu next time.

Yelp
Stopped here after midnight after watching the Eiffel Tower light show, my friend and I ordered a crème brûlée & a crepe. My friend loved her crepe and said it away super yummy. The crème brûlée was not bad and a good sweet treat to end the night.
google avatar

Yelp
**Beware visitors! Don't make a mistake by eating here or any two-star restaurants on this street because you are hungry. Take a few more minutes and walk across the river into town instead, where you'll find better food and more options**. After touring the tower, we stopped here to eat as we were super hungry, The service was alright, but my steak was hard and tasted like dogfood, my son got a pizza and we shared a salad. For a €120 lunch, this was a joke and a ripoff. Our server promptly added an 18% tip to himself, before giving us the credit card machine, bringing our bill up to $156. But the joke is one me for not listening to the other reviews posted here...

Yelp
Unfortunately, I was not able to read the reviews online prior to dining here. There was a young lady standing outside coasting people inside. This should have been a sign. This location is very near the Eiffel tower and should not have needed any nudging. We were seated immediately inside the restaurant by the window. It was a nice spot to people watch. The decor was beautiful. The ceiling was interesting, and I loved the wallpaper. The food was overpriced for the taste which was underwhelming. Most of the dishes taste as if it was frozen and thawed in the microwave. The beef stew was ok and enjoyed by my daughter. I'm glad I ordered wine versus a cocktail. Based on everything else, I'm sure I would have been disappointed. The service was good. Our waiter was very attentive; even with the busyness of the restaurant. The location is in a great spot. Combine the menu choices, ambience and waitstaff , it is very appealing but avoid if you can. There are better restaurants nearby.
google avatar

Cesar G.

Yelp
Warning- the menu is deceiving. They have a pizza for 18 euros and they serve 2 small slices (that's it). We asked the manager for the rest of the pizza and they said "that's what we serve despite of what the menu says". Horrible tourist trap. DO NOT STOP HERE, get away from this tourist area. It's closer to the tower but resist from getting abused from this particular restaurant
google avatar

Nick L.

Yelp
Good food crazy expensive ok service at best. Also brought items we didn't order I had poor cell service and didn't read the reviews, got screwed

Tina P.

Yelp
I never thought I could find a bad food place in Paris and yet, here we are. 56 Euros for three tiny sandwiches that were lukewarm at best. And the service was terrible with very rude waiters. Avoid this establishment all costs!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
I was literally starving and I generally check reviews but I was sooo hungry as was my family that we just came to the first place we saw getting out of the train. DONT make the same mistake we did. This place is awful and it's close to be an actual scam. 4 medium lattes were $40 euros....the pizza which is like school cafeteria pizza in the US was $16 euros for 2 small slices. An Omlette was $19 euros. Breakfast for my family of 5 nothing extravagant was $160 euros. Absolutely insane.
google avatar

SD G.

Yelp
This place is not worth it! €10 cappuccino and tastes like McDonald's coffee! The pizzas tastes like frozen pizza and heated up. The service is ok. Walk a little More away from The Eiffel towel and there are many cute outdoor dining.

Yelp
Date of visit: September 11, 2022 Total tourist trap! Do not go here, we totally got snookered! The waiters all speak perfect English until you have an issue, then they don't know what you're talking about. They also bring you things that you did not order. My husband ordered water and I ordered an iced coffee. They brought the water and two iced coffees and then disappeared so I couldn't protest. Since we were going to be charged for them, I drank both. The pizza was absolutely terrible, I ended up only eating the cheese off the top as the crust was inedible. Truly the worst pizza I've ever had, and I grew up in the 80s! When it was time to pay, I used a credit card and the waiter came over with the machine. He asked if I wanted to add a tip (the only time that anyone ever asked us that in France) and I said, "Trois," or three euros. When I got the receipt, I see that he gave himself "Cinq," or five. Again, do. Not. Go. Here. Walk a few blocks down this street and you will find much better places. This is totally taking advantage of tourists.

Adam H.

Yelp
0 stars. Employees are rude and service is horrible and they ask to receive a tip which I didn't think they deserved but I tipped anyway. Drinks are also horrible and expensive. We did not try the food but it did look good.
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
The service was pretty good here. The ambiance is beautiful. I love the lanterns and wall paper, and outside seating. However this restaurant is a blatant tourist trap close to the Eiffel Tower. With the prices charged, you would think it was inside the tower itself. $8 for fries is very steep, and $11 for a Coke is just wild. My friend ordered a very gross, square pizza with goat cheese in the middle. She liked it but I almost spat it out. $18 is too much for a personal pizza. The croque monsieur is edible. The french onion soup here is overwhelming. It's just a glob of cheese and bread, and lots and lots of salt. We paid a lot for convenience stopping here, and I'm glad we didn't decide to finish with dessert. The service was okay, at the very least. Our waiter cracked some jokes and seemed to be in good spirits.
google avatar

Heather J.

Yelp
Look forward to a charge back from my bank for you scamming me out of drinks I didn't order!!! This place has aggressive staff that threaten you and chase you down the street making a scene and trying to make you pay for drinks and take advantage of tourists beware!! I am glad my credit card company covers scams
google avatar

Cathy A.

Yelp
The customer service was great, the waiter was very attentive. We got the crème brûlée and crepes for breakfast. They were both really delicious, but everything was overpriced. The cappuccinos were also about €11 each for the larges, but they were good.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
This restaurant will scam you the waiter completely up charged me and when I added a trip he doubled it with me knowing

Yevgeny K.

Yelp
The worst place to go in Paris! Scam. I asked for four glasses of water and they brought four bottles of water ($8 each!). When I asked to bring tap water instead, they told me don't have any. The French onion soup tasted like garbage and the omelette was greasy and rubbery. The total bill for two waters, three soups and one omelette was over $80! Avoid this place at all costs!
google avatar

Mariela E.

Yelp
In general don't go that restaurant is a tourist trap. Food and service very bad. Entrecôte very grease. I can't eat my plate. No ambiance only tourist drinking something because the place is next to the Tour Eiffel.

Tatiana P.

Yelp
CRAPPY PLACE, poor quality food, nothing on the menu was good. Rude server, the worst service in years. We the place before getting the dessert we wanted. Bathrooms were very dirty. This is a tourist trap, don't go here.
google avatar

Cat N.

Yelp
Consider my two stars kind. My family and I dined here after our beautiful cruise by the Eiffel Tower. We were really hungry since it was so late and wanted a nice dinner. We sat outside to enjoy the scenery. Their patio is quite nice. We all got our own dish. I got their banana crepe which wasn't horrible but the crepe had a really weird texture and was very very basic. My mom got their french onion soup which was pretty salty and weirdly had rice in it. She wasn't a fan. My dad got their beef pasta spaghetti which was also super salty. We just didn't think the quality of food was there and everything wasn't executed according to pricing. The worst part of our dinner was when our waiter accidentally hit my mom in the face while serving us. That was totally unacceptable. He was apologetic but my mom was hurt. We wont be back and recommend you don't check it out either.
google avatar

Dhamen H.

Yelp
If you want some bullshit hot chocolate that was microwaved and tap water that's 8 euros with terrible food, this spot is for you. Tourist trap
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Crammed seating Mediocre food and the prices were disgusting even for a tourist spot. it was -€11 for a soda Don't stop here even if you think it's convenient...
google avatar

Staci J.

Yelp
Great stop for our first night in Paris. Convenient location not far from Eiffel Tower and close to our hotel. Charlie was amazing as our server. Great charm and personality. I ordered the roasted chicken with salad & French fries. The chicken was seasoned well and tender. Fries were hot and tasty (I love fries). The salad was a nice small portion more of a side salad. I ordered cheesecake to go... please try it. It's delish.
google avatar

Jorge F.

Yelp
Avoid this tourist trap at all costs. Staff is rude and you will be served crappy food. Careful with ordering water, the only have bottled but our bottle wasn't sealed, pretty sure it was tap water, small bottle for 9 euros. Everything seemed to be a euro or more than the menu when we got the receipt. And they will push you to leave a large American tip when they think you are American. Horrible experience.
google avatar

Angie M.

Yelp
Overly overpriced! Food was gross and the coffee was disgusting! We had the café crema and cappuccino and it tasted like old coffee. Also they charge $9 for water bottles! Hopefully you read the reviews before going! We didn't and learned our lesson!!! Huge tourist trap!
google avatar

Mohit I.

Yelp
Worst experience in Paris, waiter was extremely rude, save your time and money..!!!!!!
google avatar

Alex I.

Yelp
I was having a bathroom emergency when I got approached and bombarded by the two men holding menus outside - I was pretending to look at the menu when really I just needed to go to the bathroom. I asked if I could use the restroom and the bald man pointed to go downstairs. When I came back up my girlfriend did not want to stay at the cafe as she didn't like the menu. The bald man told me toilet isn't free and I need to pay. He claimed he was holding a table for me (which was never asked for). The other man then jumped in and called us stupid girls and the two of them cursed at us as we walked away. Staff seemingly very rude and angry. I honestly would've stayed for a drink if this hadn't happened. Definitely won't ever go back.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Overall I was unhappy with my experience. The pros: close to the Eiffel Tower and were open late, till two or so. They also have a heated patio, this is what attracted us. The cons: When it comes to the service, quality of the food and value it does not meet the bar. We ordered our meals and after 15min the waiter came back and told me they didn't have anymore of what I ordered. Back to the menu and ordered a different dish. When the plates came out we realized that he had made a mistake, it was my friends dish that they had ran out. No responsibility, no apology and instead he made it sound like it was my fault. Poor service. My friend didn't care so much so we kept the plate. The beef bolognese was ok, the chicken and fries nothing special. One thing to note is that water was 7 euros, if you come from the US you may assume is free.
google avatar

Derrick B.

Yelp
Terrible service and super expensive - tourist trap for sure. 4 waters, a couple lates and a cheese plate over 100 euros. Nuts!

Robert K.

Yelp
This place is horrible. We were polite and asked for a table for 6 and initially the host was the one and only descent guy there. We were then rushed and the food was embarrassing to say the least. The pizzas we ordered were doughy and disgusting. I wish I had checked Yelp before deciding to just pop in. Do yourself a favor and keep walking.
google avatar

Zachary M.

Yelp
First time in Paris, and let me tell you, this place didn't disappoint!! Normally, in America at many places that serve pasta, I would feel completely comatose after eating, but their pasta here was so flavorful but light somehow. I could definitely taste more of the seasoned tomatoes than a manufactured pasta size. It was very cold that night, but the food and espressos warmed us right up. Their espresso was so strong also, which I needed and prefer, however the stronger it was, the flavor was still there also. Would definitely recommend!!! Loved it!!!!!

Dan F.

Yelp
Do not I repeat do not order a large Coke! We ordered three of them and it cost us €51!
google avatar

Greg J.

Yelp
Within a block of the Eiffel Tower so prices were high. We did get a seat at the sidewalk very quickly. Service was friendly and professional. I ordered the onion soup since it was my last dinner in Paris and it was served piping hot, and full of flavor. I've had better, but it was good. My Royal burger at €19.50 was seriously lacking. It was just ordinary at best. One of our party had the crepe which they enjoyed. The Beef Borguinon was judged to be good as well. All in all it was good, but you can do better.

Amy C.

Yelp
I do not recommend this place, the employees (two men) began to fight and threaten a client who was with his partner and beat him out, nobody did a thing. No recomiendo este lugar, los empleados (dos hombres) comenzaron a pelear y amenazar a un cliente que estaba con su pareja y lo golpearon entre los dos meseros nadie hizo nada
google avatar

Hiral P.

Yelp
Service nonexistent, food okay. When we came in waiter was arguing with some customers, could've been the customers fault I'm not sure, but either way that was kind of offsetting. Most restaurants in Paris give tap water for free and charge for mineral water, this restaurant did not and not only that, they "forbid" us from drinking our own water bottles. Crepe royale was not good way too sweet. Crepe with bananas was fine but nothing special. Omelette was also fine but nothing special. At the end the waiter was like "how much are you gonna tip me" which I found kind of obnoxious for a waiter to do regardless of whether we were tipping or not.
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
My wife and I popped into this establishment for something to drink during our visit to the Eiffel Tower. We neglected to look at the menu before ordering a Coke Zero and a bottle of still water... €11 for a Medium fountain Coke Zero (COMPLETELY insane) & €7 for the average sized water bottle (also insane)... Do yourself a favor and AVOID this tourist trap!
google avatar

Mandisa H.

Yelp
Located by the Eiffel Tower and a little touristy. The service wasn't bad and the food was just okay. The meal that I ordered was a bit tasteless and needed some sauce. It made my food dry The dessert was actually very good. Belgian waffle with Nutella , banana , whip cream , and cinnamon.

Sue S.

Yelp
Don't let the charming waiters out front lure you into this place. Big mistake! The Cafe is located close to the Eiffell Tower and the prices, food quality and service reflect this fact. Drinks and food were ridiculously overpriced and underwhelming. Food was mediocre at best.

Michael H.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the great location and pretty view: restaurant is absolute GARBAGE!!!! Not only is it overpriced, service is terrible. Bad food, don't get!!
google avatar

Tati V.

Yelp
I'm very surprised that this café has such bad reviews. Maybe it's one of those hit and miss places but I'm happy to say that my experience was a good one. This café is nestled literally behind the Eiffel Tower. It is open late which worked to our advantage as he had driven up from Bordeaux. We stopped here to get our food fix before calling it a night and I will always remember this as the place where I had my very first Parisian crêpe. The staff was nice and there is some kind of tax added to your bill but it wasn't anything extremely expensive. Honestly even if it's just for a crêpe, I think it's worth it.

Nimritjot H.

Yelp
A disgrace to this beautiful city. I saw the bad reviews and thought to myself "oh well, how bad can hot chocolate be?" Turns out it was the worst. Felt like it was microwaved for 20 seconds. Then worst of all we get the bill. 8 euros for tap water. The COLD chocolate also gave me a bad after taste so now I have to go brush my teeth.
google avatar

Julie P.

Yelp
This review is not a slam or a recommendation, merely information. Waiter kept "forgetting" that I wanted small beverages in an effort to upsell, food was lukewarm, chicken and beef Bourgogne was fine, hot dogs were inedible, fries were cold and the coke was a full liter for 17e. Oh, and the table next to us received tap water and we were told it was unavailable.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
Another day another sidewalk cafe. This French version of a ham and cheese sandwich puts your mother's packed lunch to shame. From the homemade bread, well sliced ham, and the mix of three melted French cheeses on top it was a nice spin on a classic. It is so big you have to eat it with a knife and fork and of course a small salad is a part of every meal. The escargot was cooked in a tasty butter and garlic sauce. The only downside was that the chicken was a bit over cooked.
google avatar

Shaunda H.

Yelp
Service was ok, food was good. Its literally next to Eiffel Tower so that is cool you can just leave go to the tower. I got crepe, it was good. My chid got one too told him in my best french she allergic to tree nuts. Then gave her travel card which is in french. He said ok. Then brought crepe out with Nutella in it. I knew it was right when I saw it and told him he said no it chocolate. I said no its Nutella. So manger can gave her new crepe. So it was ok would we go back no.
google avatar

Lorrie K.

Yelp
I would have given this restaurant 4 stars because initially the customer service was good even though the food was medocre. But, at the end of our meal the waiter actually came up to us and said "no tip?" when I paid a €50 bill with €51. He then repeated it twice while he stood over us, waiting. I was going to leave some change, which is the most that is expected for a small casual restaurant in France. Unfortunately we chose a touristy restaurant near the Eiffel Tower because we were in a rush, where they are used to American tourists tipping as we do in America, unlike French culture where tipping is not expected. Unfortunately it left a bad taste in our mouth regarding this restaurant. Don't be taken advantage of by waiters assuming you are an ignorant American... avoid this restaurant.
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Came in on a rainy night after visiting the Eiffel Tower. Already late but they seated us quickly. Pasta, Beef bourguignon and a Royal burger rounded out our order. Nothing "Royal" about the burger, but tasty anyway. Daughter finished her pasta, wife loved her beef. Efficient friendly service; and glad to get out of the rain and rest our feet.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Be careful, they are going to up charge you on water! For 4 people we received 4 large bottles. The cost 29.50€ As for the rest of the experience, it was bad. The cost of a burger 19.50€. A croquet madam 12.50€. Let me remind you that it is a grilled ham sandwich. The pizza, totally in edible. Even the 9 year old who ordered it woulda not eat it. (Mind you she just spent a week in Italy). When it came time to check out, they demanded a tip to add to the bill. It did not deserve it. What did I learn today? Buyer beware.

Kristi C.

Yelp
Positively predatory. Worst experience in Paris. Clearly intended for tourists so we expected to pay more, but fine. Bill came and it seemed exorbitant - closer look showed €20 for a "large" virgin mojito.Called our waiter over and told him our 15 year old daughter did not order a "large" drink. He started yelling at us that she did and we had to pay. I told him there was no way she ordered that and his response was, "well she drank it!". Told him we weren't paying, he ripped the bill out of my husband's hand. Manager came over and the waiter told him she ordered a large and he asked her if she wanted a large and she said yes. At this point I told them both in French that I speak French, understand what they are saying, and that we weren't stupid. Bill came back - with a charge for a €14 alcoholic mojito. Told him again to fix the bill & he stormed off. Finally paid the €12 for her drink. On top of all of that the food is AWFUL. DO. NOT. GO!!!
google avatar

Joshua S.

Yelp
Quite possibly one of the worst dining experiences I've had in Paris. I came here in the evening with my partner after an evening at the Eiffel Tower. We stopped in for dessert and drinks. After ordering two desserts we also asked for two glasses of tap water since it was 33 degrees Celsius. Our server refused to bring us tap water unless we ordered entrees as well, and then also refused to bring us a large bottle of water (50cl or 75cl). Which I believe to be entirely unethical to withhold water from customers, especially when the heat is that intense. My partner and I compromised and ordered two 25cl bottles of sparkling water, each costing five euros - outrageously overpriced! When our server brought the bottled water, it was not sparkling like we had asked, instead he brought still water. When the desserts came, the creme brulee was very bland and unenjoyable, our chocolate/coffee sorbet was alright, but nothing unique or exciting. The service was slow and the server seemed as though he did not want to be there. Overall, this was a really bad experience. We came here because of how conveniently close it was to the Eiffel Tower, but have learned our lesson. Always check reviews before you stop at a restaurant. Had I seen the other reviews and how poorly rated this restaurant is, I never would have stepped foot inside this establishment.
google avatar

Mariam M.

Yelp
Worst cocktails and food! If you want to taste mojito with hand sanitizer check this place out!

S M.

Yelp
100% tourist trap and I've been fooled. They wait outside smiling and attentive to immediate to seat you. You sit, order an iced tea and salad. The salad is 19 euros and the iced tea is 18 euros. Let's read that again...18 euros for iced tea. Even the finest hotels in the world don't charge that much for iced tea. They should be ashamed of themselves.
