Castel de Très Girard

We did not stay at the hotel, but had one dinner here during our trip to burgundy. The restaurant staff were all super nice and helpful. Perhaps it was our fault for not choosing the pre fixe menu, but the food was below expectations. I had the quenelle de brochet, and though beautifully plated, was tough and rubbery. It tasted very bland and as tho it had been made hours earlier and then slightly reheated before serving. I’ve had much better versions at bistros. I would have sent it back, but it was so small, I ate it in two bites.

It was a delightful experience when we visited Castel for a luncheon. The weather was pleasant, and we were able to enjoy the outdoor seating with a view of the Castel garden. The cuisine was exceptional. We shared several dishes, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend the beef tartare and the tomahawk grilled steak. Castel is a beautiful location for a business retreat or vacation.

Lovely country hotel located in the middle of the top wine-yards. Rooms spacious with big bathrooms . Amazing breakfast with everything you can ask for ( and even more ), lovely restaurant with huge wine list . Pool and garden and safe parking - fair priced

This Castel is a must stay. You are in the heart of the wine vineyards. Our room overlooked the rolling vineyards and was peaceful. An outdoor patio and pool space was a great extra perk to soak in afternoon views. Our room was clean, freshly modern and had a comfortable bed. While we only stayed here one night we wished we had booked another night. We dined at the hotel restaurant which was wonderful. Staff is very attentive.

Super place to stop over, just a few minutes off the main motorway, but in a lovely peaceful area among the vines and close to the best of Burgundy. ||There is a lovely pool and great terrace. ||We had a superior room with a 40 percent discount. It was very spacious and had a lovely big bed and separate bathroom and toilet. So it was very comfortable. However, there was no shower and it was not a luxurious room by any stretch. I would not have been happy to pay the full price. ||The restaurant was lovely. Great service, beautiful food and an excellent wine list. ||Breakfast was a slightly odd affair with one person serving, cooking, and looking after reception. I should say she was doing a great job and managed to find time to call and tell us we had left a charger in the room. ||

We stopped on a drive from St Remy back to the UK and pleased to find such a nice hotel with a car charger for our EV - shame there is only one as we had a near miss with a fellow EV needing a top up too. The pool was small but perfect for a short visit, and the food at dinner was delicious - far better than expected and a real treat. Obviously a fantastic wine list to go with it. As a family we had a huge suite, lovely bathroom and separate W/C. Not the cheapest but worth it for the quality.

We had lunch in the restaurant. Perfect good, very considerate service, and brilliant atmosphere. We weren’t very hungry so we got one main course for two people, and the chef just took the extra effort to divide the dish into two portions for us. That’s quite remarkable. (We did not stay in the hotel)

Lovely stay at the hotel for 1 night. I’m vegan and I asked at reception if it was possible to have vegan food in the restaurant; the chef created an amazing 2 course dinner which was delicious. Breakfast was also very good, we didn’t mind at all ordering the night before as it was all fresh and no food was wasted. Very friendly staff, we were made to feel very welcome. Great stop off in the wine region.

In picture perfect Morey-Saint-Denis, at the bottom of the hill, lies Castel de Tres Girard. After passing through the hotel's lobby and small bar, a welcoming, cozy sitting room complete with a roaring fireplace greets patrons. It provides a decidedly old-school foil a sleek, clean modern dining room, which foreshadows the meal ahead: classic French, prepared anew. In finer weather, the expansive patio would be ideal for an al fresco meal. Either way, the floor-to-ceiling windows provide a picturesque view of Burgundian Grand Cru vineyards along the ridge above. In fabulous style, the service is perfect, unobtrusive, yet generous. For lunch, it's hard to go wrong with the Menu du Jour, two plates for 19E, three for 25E. The rabbit terrine, expertly made, rich and nuanced, served with a biting whole mustard. Pumpkin soup, spiced beautifully for the season, was creamy, soft, and warming. The chicken ballotine stuffed with herbs and laid over filling red lentils cooked in sultry demi-glace. To pair, the wine list is expansive and filled with Burgundy, at suitable prices. Castel de Tres Girard's on the must-do list for any trek on the Route de Grand Cru.

Amazing food, well versed and attentive staff. A beautiful evening dinner concluded a perfect day!
