Beautiful property located just a 5-minute walk from the city center of Bolzano. The hotel itself is set in an old castle-like building with plenty of charm and character. Its location is excellent – close to the city but also a great starting point to explore the mountains around Bolzano.
The spa area is a real highlight, with various saunas, Turkish baths, and an outdoor pool, making it a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The hotel also offers free electric bike rentals, which is a fantastic perk and highly recommended if you want to discover the surrounding mountains – the scenery is simply stunning.
We stayed in two different rooms: one larger room with a sofa, generous space, and coffee facilities (with bar drinks included), and another smaller one. Both were comfortable, though quite different in size and layout. Breakfast was fairly good, with a nice variety of options.
The only downside we noticed was the service. While the staff are very friendly and forthcoming, the overall level of professionalism is not quite what you would expect from a five-star hotel. At times the service felt uncoordinated – for example, no one was at the front desk when we arrived, they initially couldn’t find our reservation, and at checkout the billing was handled incorrectly. It often gave us the impression that the hotel is managed by enthusiastic amateurs rather than seasoned professionals.
That said, the warmth of the staff and the charm of the property do make up for it, and we still very much enjoyed our stay. With a bit more training and polish in the service, this hotel could easily live up to its five-star setting.
