Castel Hörtenberg

We have visited Castel Hörtenberg 2 times this summer. First briefly with our sons, and then with friends with their children.|This is quite lovely restored hotel in a sweet location in Bolzano. It is completely private setting and actually quite magical. |We could walk to the center of town in a 5 min leisurely stroll, or to the cable car.|The hotel is that perfectly executed blend of old exterior and totally modern interior. Personally our favorite blend of old and new. Kudos to the architect and interior designer as this is a restrained but very elevated interior. |It just feels good to enter the private drive, go through the gates, and then enter the hotel. No matter how you arrive- harried or relaxed, you will feel immediately “Ok, ive really picked right here- this is wonderful.”|The public spaces offer lots of seating- whether inside or outside, so we could meet our friends and relax.|Wonderful pool and pool setting. The grounds are lovely.|There is even a small gym- but for this gym rat it actually works.|Breakfasts are a treat- both what you can order or the wonderful buffet- sitting al fresco is just lovely or inside.|But of course with any hotel- it’s always always the staff that makes the difference. And here Castel Hortenberg excels. Of course this always comes from the top- the tone that management sets. Kudos to management then :-)|It is that special professionalism that sets the tone. The message is that you are the guest and we want you to have a wonderful stay. It is not stuffy at all. |This started for us (and continued,) with Emmanuel at the front desk.|The breakfast staff was wonderful- professional and accommodating.|I will mention that we had dinner once at the hotel- again a very lovely, elevated experience.|Cant say enough good things.|Richard and Lisa Mann

My wife and I recently stayed here as part of a Northern Italy road trip for my birthday. The staff were excellent, and really helpful with suggestions on things to do and see (thanks Tomasso), we also used the electric bikes to do a day out wine tasting whch was great. The hotel itself is lovely and relaxing, and the food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. It feels like a real slice of oasis luxury, but with lots to do and see if you want to get intot the surrounding area. Thanks again for an amazing stay!

This is a wonderful hotel! The staff is truly exceptional, and the rooms are just as impressive. My wife and I arrived on foot from the train station and were a bit frustrated at first. A tip for future guests: be sure to arrange transportation or transfers ahead of time, since the phone number listed on the website connects to the office, not the hotel itself. That said, the team went above and beyond to make things right, and we ended up thoroughly enjoying both the hotel and the town.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel, and we can't recommend it enough. Its location is quite good and convenient, making it a great base for any trip. The rooms are beautiful and spotless, always maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. We also thoroughly enjoyed the hotel restaurant; the food and cuisine are superb and definitely worth the price. However, the most memorable aspect of our stay was the exceptional staff. Specifically, the beautiful and delightful Ms Tatjana made us feel incredibly welcome and truly special. She is not just a kind and helpful person, but also a true professional who goes above and beyond. Thanks to her, this hotel felt like a home away from home

So fun to stay in a castle. History has been maintained but the rooms are updated, stylish and clean. Beds are comfortable. Food was the best we experienced in from our travels around Italy. Staff is amazing. You will not be disappointed!

I can't say enough great things about our stay here. The hotel was beautiful, quiet and clean. Every member of the staff was amazing and friendly. The food was spectacular both at the dinner and the breakfast. The rooms were spacious and the entire hotel was decorated beautifully. We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to return one day!
