WOW!!! We came here for 1 night and then went off for our friends wedding and then returned for a further 2 nights.. all I can say is this place is amazing and sooo beautiful. ||The staff are so friendly and helpful, speak such good English and made us feel so welcome.||The rooms are also incredible, we stayed in a normal size room the first night and then a suite for the remainder of our stay. Just beautiful. The beds are big, the rooms are so clean. Showers are powerful and there is a mini bar stocked with drinks and the are very reasonably priced. ||The pool area is lovely….clean and the pool isn’t cold, so refreshing. ||Breakfast if plentiful and very nice, the coffee is lovely. ||There is a lovely pizzeria down the road 3 min walk which serves lovely food and wine and as we had a hire car there was plenty of restaurants nearby where we could get lunch and dinner. Just bear in mind there is no bar here, didn’t matter to us but it may do some. ||100% recommended and will be coming back again.||Natalie & Richard ❣️

It’s encouraging to read so many positive reviews as we were of the opinion that it’s a matter of personal choice. For some the chinsy old fashioned rooms on an estate with nothing around and with no on site bar or food options might suit. But it wasn’t for us. There is a basic restaurant ten minutes walk away for food and drinks.|The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is massive but very cold. The buildings are delightful too.|The room was very traditional with old world furnishings complete with doylies like your nan had! It was clean apart from the bathroom that needs the grimy shower screen strip replaced (simple job) and the jet nozzles scrubbed. The other annoyance was we only got four tiny sachets of shower gel rather than the usual dispenser.|Breakfast was plentiful and pleasant, particularly eating outside.

This is an incredible place. We didn't know what to expect when we decided to come here, but the peace and slow living in Castelo are something special. Here you live with nature and all your senses are woken up. Hosts are great, very helpful and kind. They make their own organic wine and oil, so don't miss a chance for a tour and wine tasting.

Great stay during a bikepacking trip. They had a secured space for the bike. The room was spacious and clean, great shower. Breakfast was excellent.

We had a wonderful stay at Castel Pietraio. The apartment is a little dated but the antique furniture fits with the history of the castle. The rooms in the main building are more modern but keep the feel of the castle. Breakfast was good and plentiful and we ate there 1 evening which was also good. The location is great to explore Tuscany and only 10 minutes from Monteriggioni which has a number of good options for dinner. The stay was made even better by our wonderful host, Caterina, who was so welcoming and informative.

I find it extremely hard to write this, review, given what other reviews report. The location is very nice, the old castle is awsome, shame the rooms are in another building. BUT.... The room is beyond basic. No tea or coffee, no kettle, not even a glass to drink from. There was a mini fridge, 2 bottles of water only. The basin in the bathroom had limited cold water. Barely soap for the shower. For breakfast we ate continental style, however the domestic coffee machine didn't survive the sitting, neither did the, 2 slice toaster. Such a disappointment to write a review like this about such a lovely property. But there are many other places equal or better. Most guests at the property were found at the supermarket 6km away buying basic essentials. I'm sure the owner will respond with all the inaccurate details here, however, it is still the most underwhelming accommodation possible. Although all experiences are what make travelling memorable.

This place is so cool! A real castle with amazing countryside surrounding it. The room was fabulous: sumptuos furnishing, excellent bathroom fixtures, comfortable bed, motorized window shutters. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The property grounds are amazing. We were so sorry to leave after just one night. ||There is no dining nearby, so plan accordingly.

Very nice holiday rooms on the castle grounds owned and run by a welcoming family. Located in a beautiful and quiet part of Tuscany and in travel distance of some beautiful cities in Italy: Siena & San Gimignano (30 min by car), Firenze (1h by car) & Monteriggioni (5-10min). Varied dining options available in the area, both in walking distance and by car (5-10 min). Family has its own vineyards and offers a tour of the castle grounds & winery, accompanied with a tasting of their nice wines (with optional Italian cold cuts and cheese). (Swimming pool available). Beautiful Italian getaway in the sunny Tuscan hills!
