Castell de Ciutat

What an experience! This is one of the best places I have had the pleasure of visiting. From the reception to the room and services, everything was top-notch and always on hand. The rooms are very classic, with an amazing view of the Pyrenees. The pool and spa services are excellent; we really enjoyed the facilities, especially the sauna and steam room (vapor sauna). Parking is also available and free at the hotel. A truly wonderful stay!

Very nice situated hotel, with high quality food and service. We had 2 dogs eith us, who were welcome everywhere in the hotel including restaurant and terrace. Very nice spa and swimming pools. Very clean everywhere. The terrace rooms had excellent views til Serra Cadi Mountains. Lovely stay!.

This is a special hotel. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by a team that was welcoming, looking out for our desires, and experts in their work. Specifically, the maître Jordi. He helped turn this great experience into an unforgettable one. He went above and beyond anything I expected. He helped to build a custom wine regional wine tasting at our dinners to pair with the food and to show off the complexities of the region. The location is so great, it has some stunning, panoramic views of La Seu d'Urgell and is a few minute walk from that city and the Castell de Ciutat location. The amenities at the spa were excellent, modern, and accessible. I truly can't say enough, thank you for the incredible experience!

The views, the atmosphere were fantastic, vintage style. Clean water with good composition (my hair was suer soft after using it). The staff were super friendly. Regret staying here only for one night.

A room has been booked in this hotel for a wedding with a baby. We arrived and they just told us to go to an other hotel because they gave our room to someone else. They do not know what it’s mean hospitality. Scandalous for a 4 stars hotel!

The only positive aspect of this hotel was its location. The service was extremely poor. We booked and paid for a room for three people, including an additional fee for the third person. However, the hotel did not provide a duvet for the third guest. When we requested one, they simply told us they did not have any, leaving me freezing all night. Additionally, the room was only stocked with towels, flip-flops, and glasses for two guests, despite our reservation for three. The service issues extended beyond the room—when we ordered facials, we received the wrong treatments. To make matters worse, the phone in our room was not working, so we had to walk to the reception for every request. The food was disappointing and overpriced. The staff removed our plates while we were still eating, which felt rushed and unprofessional. Overall, this hotel failed to meet even basic service expectations, and I would not recommend it.

Personable treatment, a spacious room and bathroom, and outstanding meals and wine list. There's a town down below with lots of dining options, but if you're exhausted after driving curvy mountain roads like we were, you never have to leave. We appreciated the décor’s mix of old world and new. The hotel’s team showed real professionalism and care, from the housekeeper to the general manager. It was the largest inn that we stayed in in the Pyrenees, but it didn't feel it.

This was one of the most unique and most interesting hotels I have ever had the pleasure to lodge while in Europe. El Castell de Ciutat is located about ten kilometers from the border of Andorra, in the Urgellet Valley. The hotel is a somewhat cozy structure of wood sitting below the castle of Seu d'Urgell. Also, the hotel rooms all have balconies that provide impressive views of the Cadi Mountains. We were on a Tauck tour that arranged the owners of the Hotel/Castle to be sure that our stay was a memorable one. They arranged on our first evening live music concert in the castle, on another evening, a private cheese tasting and dinner event in the castle. But what was an interesting and somewhat educational event was the start to finish the making of a seafood paella. The best part we had the pleasure to eat it for lunch with some fabulous wine. So besides a great activities that we had the great pleasure to enjoy the hotel has a beautiful spa and heated indoor swimming pool. I truly enjoyed our visit very much and we must also commend the director of our Tauck tour that was a large part of our wonderful experience at the El Castell de Ciutat.

A perfect quiet 2-night getaway with my wife. Wonderful views, great breakfast!, nice pools -- 1 indoor and 1 outdoor. Hot tubs, spa and beautiful Pyrenees mountain air. Situated on a bluff overlooking the charming, upscale small city of Le Seu d' Urgell, this family run resort is truly lovely. It's only 10 minutes to the Andorran border, so we spent an entire day hiking high up in El Serrat. Following a day of hiking it's great to come back to the pool, the terrace and a glass of wine. A couple of service glitches and one issue -- it turned out to be minor -- was the wifi. It was weak and spotty and It simply did not work in our room, so we needed to go to the lobby to communicate back home or use google. I'd love to give 5 stars, but the WiFi and service issues didn't measure up to that level. But in all, a truly lovely stay.

I stayed at the Hotel El Castell de Ciutat in La Seu d'Urgell, Spain for two nights in May 2018. I stayed there on 5/13/2018 and 5/14/2018. It was my 1st time there. I was traveling with Tauck at the time and they chose the hotel. Beautiful Pyrenean landscape. The view from my room was one of the best I've ever had. Wonderful staff as well. Great place to stay when visiting nearby Andorra. Wish I could have stayed longer. Plus, I took photos.

Here on a Tauck tour . Simply a perfect and relaxing spot. The view from the rooms are amazing. The restaurant is excellent and the service is so very warm and inviting. The only problem is you'll never want to leave.

Hi Yelpers. I just thought I would let you all in on how great this place is. My buddy IChi who was totally lost, and had just been robbed in France was taken in and allowed to stay until he got back on his feet. Super fast data, and safe rooms. You can't go wrong!
