We only had 2 days at Castello Delle Serre, but it was truly the highlight of our trip to Italy! Everything was perfect — from the warm and seamless check-in to the incredibly kind and helpful owners, Kaci and Antonio, and staff who made us feel so welcome. Our room was beautiful, the romantic pool area was a dream, and the breakfast was both generous and delicious.||The quiet, charming town added to the magic of our stay. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary, and thanks to Kaci and Antonio, it’s a stay we will always remember. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for an unforgettable Tuscan experience!||Don't miss out on the amazing dinner (recommended by Kaci & Antonia) at Agritur Ischieto Ristorante just a short distance from the castle. It was possibly one of the best meals on our 12 day trip!

Castello Delle Serre is something special. Kaci and Antonio, who own and operate the castle, have created an experience that’s far beyond just a beautiful place to stay—it’s warm, thoughtful, and completely unforgettable. You can feel how much love, care, and intention they’ve put into every detail.||From the moment my friend and I arrived, we felt welcomed and looked after. Their local knowledge is incredible—they pointed us toward the most charming wineries, authentic restaurants, and excursions I never would have found on my own. Every recommendation was spot-on and added so much richness to the trip.||The castle itself is stunning, with breathtaking views, beautiful rooms, and an incredible location in the heart of Tuscany. But what makes Castello delle Serre truly exceptional is the heart behind it. Kaci and Antonio have created something magical, and I feel so lucky to have experienced it.

We just returned from an incredible girls trip to Italy, and one of the absolute highlights was our 7-day stay (and tour!) at Castello Delle Serre. This was my second time at the Castello, and once again, it took my breath away!||From the moment we arrived, we were greeted like family by Kaci and Antonio, and that warmth continued throughout our entire stay. The castle itself is a dream—lovingly restored by Salvatore and Antonio, it’s both elegant and inviting, with stunning details that reflect its rich history. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable, and beautifully maintained—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.||Each day was a new adventure with our incredible guide, Andrea, who brought the region to life with his knowledge, passion, and humor. The tours were the perfect mix of history, culture, breathtaking views, amazing food and wine, and lots of laughs. We also met other fantastic guests—there’s something about this place that brings together the best kind of people!||Every element of our stay was top-notch. Whether it was enjoying a cappuccino and chocolate croissant in the morning, having a glass of wine by the pool with new friends, or exploring hidden gems across Tuscany, we felt cared for and completely immersed in the experience.||If you're looking for a trip that combines luxury, culture, connection, and a whole lot of heart, Castello Delle Serre is it. I can't wait to return again!

On April 24, 2025, I left on an unforgettable journey from McAllen, Texas, to Rome to celebrate my birthday. With eager anticipation, I planned my stay and couldn't wait to explore the beauty of Tuscany, especially my destination: Castello delle Serre, affectionately dubbed "The Castle." It is in the village Serre di Rapolano, which is close to Siena and a short distance from Chianti, Florence, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and Pienza. My stay at the Castle was originally 7 nights; however, on the day I was going to check out, I extended it for 2 more nights. The best part of my birthday celebration was my decision to stay at the Castle for 9 nights. ||In researching hotels in Tuscany, I found a review by Cindy Chupack, a travel enthusiast who described her perfect stay at the Castle, while visiting Tuscany. She described how Kaci and Anthony, managers/owners of the Castle helped her and her daughter plan their days while in Tuscany. Each day, Kaci and Anthony helped them plan day trips to different locations within Tuscany, including helping them make dinner reservations at great restaurants. I felt drawn to the Castle. Cindy's words painted a picture of relaxation and beauty that was impossible to resist. Additionally, I came across various travel agencies that strongly recommended the Castle—undeniably, it felt like a sign. Without hesitation, I booked my stay in the enchanting Tower Suite.||When I arrived at the Castle on April 27, 2025, I was warmly greeted by Anthony and Kaci. Anthony drove my car to the private parking lot, while Kaci escorted me to my Tower Suite. Although I had seen photos on the Castle's website, the reality was breathtaking—a truly magical place.||My Tower Suite was extraordinary, stretching across three stories: the first floor featured a cozy living room and bathroom; the second floor, a luxurious bedroom with stunning views of the Castle and surrounding village of Serre di Rapolano; and the third floor boasted a private patio with lounge chairs, perfect for soaking in the serene atmosphere and reflecting on the blessings of life.||I found my experience from the beginning, amazing . Each morning, I enjoyed breakfast on the outdoor patio, taking in the stunning Tuscan countryside. I savored the fragrance of orange blossoms, listened to birds chirping, and delighted in indulging my taste buds with cappuccinos and a decadent chocolate croissants, often followed by a sumptuous breakfast of eggs, prosciutto, and cheese.||I spent my mornings in the present moment, soaking in the beauty of my surroundings. It was very relaxing and amazing. I was so proud of myself for being in the present and taking in the beauty surrounding the Castle. Afterward, I would chat with Kaci, who always had great recommendations for sightseeing and where to dine. As my trip unfolded, I had the pleasure of meeting Priscilla and Martha, who joined me for the final days of my adventure. Together, we enjoyed delightful dinners at the Castle and nearby, where the exquisite food and wine added to the perfection of the experience.|This trip not only celebrated my birthday but also provided me with unforgettable memories and connections that defined my Tuscany experience. The hospitality, the breathtaking landscapes, and the joy of sharing meals with newfound friends made this journey truly special.||Kaci and Anthony made my trip joyful and fulfilling. They treated me like a cherished friend visiting their home, the Castle, where every moment felt special. I am excited to become a returning hotel guest, planning to return at least once a year, especially to stay in their new hotel when it is completed in Southern Italy. Tuscany, with its wonders and my wonderful new friends—Anthony, Kaci, Pricilla, and Martha—has left a lasting mark on my heart and soul. I highly recommend a long stay at the Castle.

Great place with wonderful hosts! Can’t recommend it enough. Quiet peaceful village is a perfect base for exploring the rest of Tuscany by car. The Castle pool is the best place to unwind after touring around - enjoy a beer or wine and relax at the end of the day! The pool apartment was perfect for our family of 5.

My group of 14 enjoyed the most amazing time at Castello Delle Serre in May. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with world-class service, incredible food, and the most comfortable stay imaginable. The whole Castello team went out of their way to ensure our trip to Tuscany was unforgettable. Kaci was very helpful and communicative during the pre-trip planning phase, and both she and Antonio were such generous hosts and curated insightful tours for us each day. And of course, Sal told such great stories! We felt like family at the Castello, and I can't wait to come back.

The owners were so sweet and helped my girlfriend and I plan a wonderful weekend in the area. Anthony and Kaci were wonderful hosts and we hope to come again!

What a wonderful experience! My wife and I had the most amazing time staying here while in Tuscany on our honeymoon. The castle itself is amazing but it's the staff here that really makes it special. They arranged tours, trips and dinners for us. They talked with us about the local history and about Tuscan history. The highlight was when they let us join them for a local Medieval dinner in the town for the annual Medieval festival. We will never forget our experience here. Highly recommended!

The rooms are very tasteful and comfortable, the views are fantastic, as this hotel is a maze full of nooks and crannies to explore. It sits on top of the town of Rapolano, and is built into a castle structure in the center of the town. By town, I mean very small group of homes. Salvatore and Antonio were great hosts. Their food was delicious and we enjoyed the lounge/bar there as well. There are also other places to eat near by, and Siena is maybe 20 minutes by car, that is if you want to leave. Many memories we wont forget.

My first time in Italy and our stay was unforgettable. Thank you Shelley and Antonio for being awesome!

Outstanding thousand year old castle with all 21st Century amenities Imagine yourself in an amazing medieval castle with modern amenities, and beautifully decorated rooms--all are different with attention to detail and comfort. We slept under a restored fresco, in a room with a modern bathroom, shower with marble tile. They even have an elevator to take you to your room that will overlook the Tuscan Hills or to their pool and outdoor bar where you can enjoy a sunset and see Sienna in the distance. This luxurious Bed and Breakfast is centrally located smack in the middle of Tuscany. Antonio will give you handwritten directions to Siena, Cortona, Montalcino, and San Gimignano or to other centrally Tuscan areas all just a short drive away. If Salvatore is cooking be sure to make a reservation -it will be a feast you will never forget and his homemade pasta is to die for. All are made welcome, from families with kids to seniors. Nearby local restaurants from the Farmhouse Restaurant where I had the best lamb ever to the homemade Picci pasta at a local restaurant (Ristorante pizzeria San Rocco ) down the hill from the Castle were unbelievable. Walking to this small local restaurant in Serre di Rapolano felt as if we were transported back 1000+ years to a real and safe medieval village. This is a first class B&B and was a highlight of my recent trip to Italy. My only complaint was that we did not book a longer reservation to have more time to enjoy Salvatore and Antonio's hospitality at this incredible place.

Being airline staff, I travel extensively and rarely have come across a place I felt compelled to rave about. But this time at this place, I had no choice but to share my comments about a most enjoyable experience I would highly recommend to all. If you have envisioned actually staying at a castle in Tuscany..... Castello delle Serre does not disappoint, and will make your dreams actually come true. I had wanted to do this for years - just never got to it till this spring when I did some research and came across Castello delle Serre. My several days there felt like it was right out of an enchanted fairytale. A stunning jewel of the Tuscan countryside, this historic restored 12th century castle was converted to a B&B Hotel, while still maintaining its unique old-world charm. It sits at the top of the charming medieval village of Serre di Rapolano, 40 minutes from Siena. The hotel has incorporated modern comforts into this grandiose residence, offering spacious and comfortable rooms, oversized beds and marble bathrooms, and a spectacular swimming pool where you can relax and unwind. While sunbathing there I felt like the rest of the world was a million miles away. The castle's décor is tastefully done and allows you to conjure up what castle life must have been like in all its glory. We had fun exploring the maze full of nooks and crannies and discovering quiet little tucked away places. The setting and luxurious grounds are magnificent. Seeing picturesque views from your room window or just wandering around the property and gardens allows you to mentally savor the splendid images of being in the very heart of the Tuscan hills. One of the most outstanding features of this memorable property is the very knowledgeable, congenial and vivacious owner, Salvatore Gangale. After meeting him, you feel like you have made a friend for life. He prepares then sits and chats with you during the delicious meals. His enthusiasm and wit are contagious and you know instantly he is a man with integrity and you're impressed that he followed his dreams. He purchased the property in 1996 with a vision to restore the abandoned castle to its original grandeur and then share it with the world. Congratulations Sal on a job well done! Also of note are two other wonderful staff: Sal's son Antonio and the front desk manager Mirco. Everyone is charismatic and dedicated to making themselves available to you at all times. All are delightful hosts and go out of their way to make your stay easy - and perfect. Take the cooking class Sal personally gives on Tuesday nights - so much fun and gave me a whole other appreciation for fine Italian cuisine. Ok, yes - wine was involved. Castello delle Serre, with its serene location and the remarkable striking panoramic views that surround you at every turn, will give you a real sense of the majestic Italian landscape. A true Tuscan castle converted into a hotel! We loved staying here and are already planning a trip back. The family that runs the place and so helpful and accommodating which is truly the highlight of the Castello, aside from the beauty it offers. We wanted to stay outside of the cities so we chose this centrally located Castello a short drive from Siena. Truly the best place to stay in Tuscany!
