A beautiful castle with great views over Udine and the surrounding hills. The walk up is lovely, and the museum inside offers a glimpse into the city’s history. Definitely worth a visit!

A Castle in the top of a hill in Udine right above the main square of Udine. When I went, there was a slight rain and a huge stage with lot of chairs were set up right in front of the Castle. The Castle houses a Museum as well, which needs ticket to enter. You can either climb through a flight of stairs or the steep incline right to the top. You can fleetingly see the golden statue but I found it difficult to take a snap of it as the angle is very difficult. The sky was full of rain clouds as well. I managed to click the back side of the statue from there and a side view from the road while walking to Piazza I Maggiore garden near the Castle. Overall, a good experience of seeing the entire Udine city from the top.

I think the greatest tourist spot in the Castello is the courtyard which offers almost 360 panoramic view of the city. I was not aware of the existence and was amazed as we climed up and the it appeared behind the building. The kids were not interested in museums, so we just came for the view. But worth any time.

The highest point of Udine, with 360 degrees view. In every direction you can see either rooftops or mountains or church domes. There is a lift there for those who can't/don't want to go up by foot. Worth visiting, you won't regret it.

Beautiful aspect high up on the hill. Weren't allowed in the church, and the nearby museum seemed geared to local exhibits about which I know almost nothing. But had nice outdoor cake and drink at the cafe. The waiter was very friendly and spoke excellent English

It is worth a visit. It has amazing workmanship. The view of the entire Udine is visible from the top, which is very beautiful. Here you can spend 40 to 50 minutes comfortably. This palace is very beautiful and a wonderful sight of workmanship. Here you will get to see many such structures which have amazing workmanship. As the evening approaches, the view here becomes even more beautiful.

We (as a family of 4 with 9 and 18 years old kids) entered free of charge with the family ticket which was a surprise, because their website doesn't advertise a family ticket. I really liked the exhibitions (archaeological, risorgimento, paintings, photos), especially the parliament room (big, richly painted hall). From the castle's yard there is a pretty view to the town.
