Worth the visit. You can drive up close to the castle, with very few spots, still have to walk few minutes. They have senior tickets 4 euro, so that was great. The views are indeed excellent. The owl in the cage is unnerving, not sure why it's there.

Unbeatable panorama views of Lake Como! This is a must visit. The hike up is difficult, 30m of just steep uphill. But it’s well worth it. Came in Sept on weekend and it wasn’t busy at all. Also a very nice cafe and bathroom

Castello di Vezio is a scenic and well-preserved medieval fortress above Varenna, offering some of the most stunning panoramic views over Lake Como. The climb up is a bit steep, but worth it for the peaceful gardens, the mysterious ghost sculptures scattered around the grounds, and the historic tower with medieval artifacts inside. There’s also a small botanical garden and occasional falconry shows. A perfect mix of history, nature, and quiet charm—highly recommended for a relaxed visit away from the crowds.

Breathtaking views, beautiful garden, lovely scenery, definitely worth a visit. One of my favorite places here in Lake Como. It's also relatively small so you can really take your time enjoying everything and you don't have to stress about missing something. It's fun for people of all ages but bear in mind that there is a bit of a walk from the car park to the tower. It's not the easiest walk either, up and down on the pebbled pathway. It's not for people with physical hindrance.

Really great views of the lake. Definitely worth a visit! We walked there from Bar Milano - it took about 38 mins. The path itself is easy but gets steep near the end. There’s lots of signs so it’s easy to find. It was a hot day so we wore complete sports gear, no regrets. €7 entry and you can buy it at the door. There’s a picnic area so you can stay as long as you like. It wasn’t too busy when we went at 1pm on a weekday in August.

Castello di Vezio is a charming little castle above Varenna. The garden is peaceful and well kept, and the views over Lake Como are absolutely stunning. The castle itself is small, but climbing the tower gives you an even better lookout. Great spot for a relaxed visit with a bit of history and plenty of scenery.

Beautiful medieval castle built by the Lombardians. Lots of information about the history to read about. Interesting ghost sculptures around the castle. Stunning views over Lake Como. Great café where you can rest as well. The hike up here is quite tough, so would recommend good shoes or even considering taking a bus or taxi.

4 euros for a senior entry. The castle is well maintained and has several exhibits throughout that will appeal to the crusader or knight fan. Fantastic view of Lake
