Castello Reale di Moncalieri

The main reason you'll probably visit Moncalieri. Piedmont has some amazing castles (which makes sense once you learn about the region's history) and this is definitely one of them. It's a shame the tours have to be guided and so tight, but there's a reason for it. Still, it's worth the visit and the money.

Very nice. Visited in the winter. I have a feeling it's better during the summer. Lots of castles and things to see in the area. This is one of the most important attractions. Nice walk around the town as well.

Parts of the house were very impressive. The tour guide was also awesome. She was friendly and joked with us throughout. We enjoyed her immensely (even with the language barrier). Nearly everything is under construction (but tickets are still full price) and the police presence means you can only see a small part of the house and none of the grounds.

Interesting tour. However, the castle is not in the best state and there are more impressive castles nearby. Also, our guide did not speak English, so this is something to check with the staff beforehand if you don't speak Italian.

The tour; The tour was only in Italian, but I still managed to understand most of it with my limited knowledge of the language because the guide knew how to convey information with gestures quite well. The tour lasts 1 hour and is quite cheap. Remember to book tickets the day before online. The castle; The castle itself is quite nice, even though you only get to visit a small part of it throughout the guided tour since half the castle is used by the Carabinieri. Moncalieri; Moncalieri is a beautiful little city and easy to go to when you're visiting Turin. I would recommend that you include thid place as part of your itinerary. I recommend you spend around 2 hours at the castle + visiting Moncalieri.

A perfect half-day trip destination! Not much to see and very limited variety of activities! If you’re into the history of the royal family and enjoy jogging, this place is then worth a visit!
