Castello Restaurant

Have visited this restaurant on many occasions and never disappoints. Friendly large Italian restaurant. Great menu. We were seated at a table quite near the toilets & the staff were happy to let us move to another table. Food was delish and great portions. The calzone was HUGE! Would absolutely come back again!

The food here is amazing — especially the Pollo con Funghi, which was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The staff are incredibly welcoming and make you feel right at home. It was a pleasure to come here!

Had a really lovely evening at Castello in Frome. The vibe was cozy and relaxed, and the staff were genuinely warm and helpful. We started with the Gamberoni – prawns in a delicious garlic and chilli butter – so flavourful! The prawn chilli linguine was absolutely spot-on: fresh, perfectly cooked pasta with just the right kick. Our server recommended a red wine to pair with it, and it went beautifully with the meal. Simple, delicious food and great service. Would happily return! 🍷🍝🦐

We had a lovely time here. The food is great! I had the meatballs which were delicious and spicy in a great way. My wife had the stuffed mushroom which was also tasty. Both our pasta dishes were tasty and delicious. The only disappointment was the breads which were flavourless. Service was fine! We would return.

Best night and food I’ve had in a while, great atmosphere, and absolutely bustling with people. Our server Shabs (I think) was hilarious, had some great fun with the kids. Overall, an 11/10 restaurant, would definitely recommend!

Lovely Italian in the heart of Frome. Service was warm and friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us. Menu selection was fantastic and every plate that left the kitchen looked amazing. I had the arabiata which was gorgeous, my only gripe was that it was a very small portion for the price. The calzones on the other hand are huge! Would recommend!

Visited 17/05/24 - Fantastic Italian restaurant with really nice food and great service. We found this last minute and they took our reservation. The service was great and they are family friendly, we took a baby and they customised the food for her with less seasoning. All of the food tasted great and was good value for money.

Second visit to this restaurant. I was disappointed with the food and drink. Starter arrived with main course. Garlic bread was tasteless . Ravioli the chef’s special was not hot and looked like a mess heated up and thrown together. The penne arribiata had far too many chilli’s in it. Again it was not hot. The double gin and tonic came ready mixed. I couldn’t taste any gin which made me doubt there was much in it. I would prefer to add my own tonic which is normal pratice so you can adjust the strength. It had the thinist pice of lime I have ever seen. Coffee guess what ? Was warm.very disappointing meal at over £100

Castello is a family run restaurant in Frome. My wife and I stumbled on the town while touring England. The pub hotel we took a room tonight wasn't serving dinner tonight. We asked the bar staff for recommendations, and they were enthusiastic about Costello. After our meal, so are we! Costello sits on a narrow (aren't all the streets narrow here?!?) side street. The restaurant has a look and feel that seems much more modern than the surrounding buisinesses. When you go in, it is bright, airy and chic. The staff is friendly and professional. And most are clearly Italian...my wife was especially taken by the handsome young waiters speaking British English with an Italian accent. They told us that they had been in business for 4 years. I can't believe another Yelper hasn't been here yet! Our food was excellent. The wine list was compact but complete. Setting and service wonderful.

Took my partner to this venue on Friday 28/10 Schoolboy Error !!! I had a fish based rissotto with contained 5 large mussels...Incredibly it was served to me with 2 open and 3 still closed...NEVER EVER serve mussels that are not open..Every chef on the planet should know this. The manager apologised and went and got me some more which had been cooked in, I think, a tomato based sauce...I didn't like them at all and they did not match my original mussels..He offered me a desert on the house which I accepted. This experienced blemished what should have been a lovely evening. So disappointed. Will I return...Not sure as there are loads of restaurants out there to choose from. I think this mistake must lay with the chefs who should have checked the mussels before sending them out .Dining out is not cheap nowadays so customer expectations are high !

Extraordinary food! The goat cheese tartin was excellent as was the pizza and pasta. Cocktails were well done and enjoyed the Italian wine selection.

Really nice find in Frome. Food and service were splendid with good selection of wine.
