Castellum Hotel Hollókő

We were here first time and truly shocked by the quality of food in this hotel. We’ve been the last 20 years in most of the wellness hotels in Hungary, and many places in Europe, but here in Castellum the dinner was the best ever. Wild meat, fish, vegetables, you name it, everything just perfect quality, exceptional taste, wonderful presentation. Congratulations for the crew! Also the service is wonderful, everybody whom we met in the hotel was very polite, professional, kind. |The hotel is surrounded by nature, the air is so fresh, you immediately want to fall asleep. Super calm, very friendly atmosphere.

Outstanding in every way! The accommodations were spacious well appointed and very clean. The staff was attentive and truly made you feel valued. The food served was excellent. Breakfast made for an outstanding start for the day ahead. Dinner could not have been better. Director Ban Viktor and his team were "Five Star" in every way.

Absolutely a waste of money. Rooms are mid, no view only to the parking lot, wellness needs a severe upgrade cause it’s not enjoyable, and the staff are no help. We left early and they didn’t even offer a compensation. The little town is cute but it takes 20mins to go through and there’s nothing to do except grab a lemonade or whatever. The only good thing about this hotel is the food.

The hotel is in a perfect location, the old village and the castle are within a few minutes' walk. The breakfast and dinner are outstanding, with dishes made from special ingredients. The wellness area overlooking the mountains is a perfect place to relax. The only downside is that the only Finnish sauna is occupied by ten people during the sauna seances, three times a day, so the other hotel guests cannot use it.

We were here in the beginning of March, 2024. The hotel is absolutely great, the rooms are perfect, clean, nice and spacious. We upgraded our standard room to a deluxe one and it was worth the money. The food is super good, wide range of different hot and cold dishes at breakfast and a feast at dinner. The staff was really kind and helpful. We absolutely loved this hotel.

Not recommended! We were there and spoke to the staff at reception. We agreed that we would contact them by email about details. We then sent an email inquiry twice (2x) (about room design and price) and received no response! An imposition. We are looking elsewhere.

The hotel is a real pearl: clean and nice; they offer the best of Hungarian hospitality. |Went there with work colleagues and friends, enjoyed the wellness area - especially the sauna which has a nice view over the valley -, the bowling and the pool bar. |The early morning view from the room was unforgettable, just as the the whole experience.
