Location is the only reason to stay here. The hotel has very poor air conditioning, the rooms are small and the furnishings are old and grungy. There are marks on the walls and the tiny bathroom tile has mold everywhere in the grout lines. The people who work there are nice and the included breakfast was a treat, but the overall experience was not good at all. I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is very well located close to the harbour and Valettas other amenities and attractions. The ataff are polite and helpful and the food served at breakfast perfectly good. The hotel is old which is a major part of its charm, but this is offset by ts condition. it's quite run down in places. Out bathroom was in serious need of renovation with many other aspects of the hotel needing bringing up to modern standards. Nice place though.

The building shows its old grandeur from the outside snd in the stairwell which were still having the old marble tiling. The furniture matched the „old style“ in its dark wooden appearance but, unfortunately, all furniture showed its age due stains and damages that are not taken care of. The hotel needs a makeover, not necessarily a big one but paint, repairs and a few replacecould do the job. |In my room was a tv, a fridge abd a hairdryer but no glasses, no kettle/coffee/tea, no complimentary water. The windows and room door were not soundproof and the door was rattling when somebody else in the corridor walked by or opened their door.|Breakfast was okay but more on the „English“ and thus there were no fresh items. The plates and cutlery were also rather old and had a canteen feel to them. The paper table cloths were not changed and were a far stretch from gastronomy guidelines.|The view from the breakfast floor with its terrace made up for other shortcomings.|The best about the hotels is its location right behind Valletta‘s city gate and a 5min walk from the fast ferry to Gozo and the ferry to the 3 cities scross the port. The staff was kind but not very motivated (I hspoened to overhear conversations between them at breakfast and while sitting at the reception.||There receptionist apologised when I asked for a glass but told me that she was not permitted to give sone. A kettle would have been given to me…but no cups.||Working for an airline for more than 31 years and having traveled to 126 countries I have experienced all sorts of accomodation. And being a backpacker on private trips I do not expect too much, I believe. But this hotel disappointed me: it seems that the owner has missed the chance to a renovation and is not willing to live up to a 3 star standard. I have paid an acceptable price but during my stay the rooms wre advertised at a rate a third higher than what I had paid. Again: the location is gorgeous, the building is fantastic but it needs a few things dine on the inside.

We booked this hotel 1 night for around 150 euro with breakfast, relatively expensive for what we got. Maybe because it's long weekend there. It's really good location. Classic old hotel but poor condition. Lifts are charming, small but still working. Our room is hidden in staircase area. We had windows with inner view - mean no view and a bit of sunlight. A/C is old but working (not too strong but it's ok) Beds were ok. Quite clean. And it's quiet to stay here. Have refrigerator and 2 small water bottles. Sockets in the room are UK type. But it havs 1 that work with my adapter (EU) Bathroom were old and rusty. Small bathtub. Provided tubes of showergel , shampoo and small soap. Old Way to do warm water, needs to mix hot and cold in right temperature to not burn you. And it's a bit stinks from those drain. Overall it's ok to think that we just 1 night stay here. Breakfast room on the 5th floor, spectacular view of the harbour. Food were simple, bread, bacon, yogurt etc. Staffs were nice, good service. It's a shame for location with so poor condition of the room.

The location is outstanding. You’re central to everything. Additionally, it’s a straight walk up from the bus station & a funicular ride down to the ferries. ||The staff is wonderful. They were all very helpful, knowledgeable & friendly. ||As others have said, the rooms are dated. However, my room served its purpose. It was a decent size & had a fridge. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping everything clean. The tub was old, but there was always hot water & good pressure. ||There is A/C, but it’s not that easy to work. It’s from another time. You can see the buttons on the wall in the pic I attached. It just came on super cold. I couldn’t adjust the temp. ||Breakfast was good. It was the same every day, but that worked for me. A few things were odd like the canned fruit cocktail, but that’s the fun of traveling. Sometimes there was fresh fruit too. The staff up in the breakfast room was as accommodating as they could be. They were all super polite & nice. ||Overall, I had a great stay here. I especially appreciated the proximity to the buses to the airport & Rabat/Mdina as well as the ferries. I feel the price was reasonable for the location & breakfast. It’s not fancy, but the price reflects that. ||I was told that the hotel is going to get completely renovated. I think they said early next year. They weren’t sure if the hotel will be completely shut down during the renovation. ||I would stay here again for the right price.

Great location and excellent roof terrace for breakfast but rooms would've looked dated in the 1950s. Air-conditioning made a noise but no noticeable effect. Would be sweltering in high season. Staff friendly. Lifts worked

Great location let down by dated tatty rooms, Bathroom was full of cracks with stained tiles, bath and shower curtain. First thing evident on entering our superior room was huge scratches on floor from ill fitting door. Air con barely working from ancient and dirty flues. Breakfast was quite frankly appalling by todays standards, small selection in tiny area meaning jostling with others to get food. Coffee machine laughable in time it takes to operate. Tinned fruit cocktail! British breakfast provided, Bacon swimming in grease in a warming tray, beans cold every day. £650 for 4 nights. I have stayed in some brilliant places for this money. In need of urgent repair throughout. Avoid.

The Hotel location is great! Room 38 third floor is a very sad, smelling, dark and damp room with a view of the wires and stonework. Facilities are bare minimum, plug socket and hair dryer lead didn't fit, so had to ask for extension lead, which I finally was given on the 2nd day by a much more professional staff member than the one I had spoken to the previous evening. No full length mirror either. Positives: single bed and pillow comfortable Breakfast on roof terrace adequate Close to Bus Terminal for transport to Airport and anywhere you want to explore, bus fare cheap. Overall loved our stay in Valetta.
