Location is great and staff are friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel itself falls well below the standards of a 3*. Mould in bedroom and bathroom, broken window panes, holes in bedding. Advertised facilities (sitting room and television room) were not available. A pigeon entered the indoor breakfast area daily where buffet food was openly on display. It's a shame as the hotel could be fantastic given it location and history.

It's a simple 3* Hotel. so just lower expectations. It could use a bit of refurbishing. But all functioning quite well, water pressure is really low (was at4th floor). Super friendly +attentive stuff etc. And location next to old city center of Valletta = fantastic!! Lots of attractions, restaurants, bars in walking distance. And a bus stop in front of the house. Great!!

We booked this hotel 1 night for around 150 euro with breakfast, relatively expensive for what we got. Maybe because it's long weekend there. It's really good location. Classic old hotel but poor condition. Lifts are charming, small but still working. Our room is hidden in staircase area. We had windows with inner view - mean no view and a bit of sunlight. A/C is old but working (not too strong but it's ok) Beds were ok. Quite clean. And it's quiet to stay here.Have refrigerator and 2 small water bottles.Sockets in the room are UK type. But it havs 1 that work with my adapter (EU)Bathroom were old and rusty. Small bathtub. Provided tubes of showergel , shampoo and small soap.Old Way to do warm water, needs to mix hot and cold in right temperature to not burn you. And it's a bit stinks from those drain. Overall it's ok to think that we just 1 night stay here.Breakfast room on the 5th floor, spectacular view of the harbour. Food were simple, bread, bacon, yogurt etc.Staffs were nice, good service. It's super clean too. It's a shame for location with so poor condition of the room.

Had a recent holiday through Thomas Cook to this hotel. Hotel facilities are not as described on Thomas Cook or Hotel website & hotel room not as booked & full of mould. Admittedly Thomas Cook arranged for our room to be changed when the hotel wouldn’t act locally. Reviews post our booking describe similar experiences. Hotel is clearly undergoing extensive & significant refurb and is in a fantastic location but felt very let down by both hotel & travel agent that our decision was not based on what was advertised

Location is the only reason to stay here. The hotel has very poor air conditioning, the rooms are small and the furnishings are old and grungy. There are marks on the walls and the tiny bathroom tile has mold everywhere in the grout lines. The people who work there are nice and the included breakfast was a treat, but the overall experience was not good at all. I would not recommend this hotel.

Shower had no pressure, was hard to regulate heat/cold either freezing or scorching. Bathrooms need upgrading as shower over bath and difficult to manage for elderly guests Air condition seems to be turned off during day and poor cooling at night, we were there in Autumn can’t imagine how stifling it would be in summer

The location is outstanding. You’re central to everything. Additionally, it’s a straight walk up from the bus station & a funicular ride down to the ferries. ||The staff is wonderful. They were all very helpful, knowledgeable & friendly. ||As others have said, the rooms are dated. However, my room served its purpose. It was a decent size & had a fridge. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping everything clean. The tub was old, but there was always hot water & good pressure. ||There is A/C, but it’s not that easy to work. It’s from another time. You can see the buttons on the wall in the pic I attached. It just came on super cold. I couldn’t adjust the temp. ||Breakfast was good. It was the same every day, but that worked for me. A few things were odd like the canned fruit cocktail, but that’s the fun of traveling. Sometimes there was fresh fruit too. The staff up in the breakfast room was as accommodating as they could be. They were all super polite & nice. ||Overall, I had a great stay here. I especially appreciated the proximity to the buses to the airport & Rabat/Mdina as well as the ferries. I feel the price was reasonable for the location & breakfast. It’s not fancy, but the price reflects that. ||I was told that the hotel is going to get completely renovated. I think they said early next year. They weren’t sure if the hotel will be completely shut down during the renovation. ||I would stay here again for the right price.

A complete disaster : from the room which was dirty and smelly and horribly noisy to the breakfast which is simply uneatable whith realy cheap food. 240€ for 2 nights is a scam. It is so frustrating since it has a great roof top and the common areas are beautiful.
