Castille Hotel

The location is great, but that is the only thing this hotel has going for it. The rooms look like a convent from the 1960s but with less light and furniture from that era. However, that is motivating to get out and see all of the captivating sights just outside the hotel steps. I went down to the front desk at 9:45 to inquire about laundry service, and they said I had already missed breakfast (it ends at 9:30). They also don't offer laundry service, and so I had to spend part of the day doing laundry. There is lots of room for improvement in this hotel, but the location is great.

If you are looking for a great hotel in a five star location which is spotlessly clean, full of character and excellent value for money then head to Hotel Castille. The views from the rooftop restaurant where the buffet breakfast is served are second to none. ||Not everything works efficiently but that’s part of its charm.

Number one - make sure when you stay they have hot water!!! Outdated rooms. Uncomfortable beds. Old fashioned locks. Staff is great! Whomever owns the property really need to update the rooms facilities. I hope the review does not reflect on staff because it’s the owner who needs to update the hotels pipes, beds, locks and furnishings.

The central position of Castille Hotel makes it possible to reach every location of interest in a couple of minutes, as it is near the Barrakka Gardens and a short walk away from the main streets with restaurants and shops, churches, and the harbour - not to mention the bus stop, a mere 10 minutes walk away. The room, classical in style, had a view on the harbour.|What was really amazing was the breakfast, available on the rooftop: not only was it abundant, but also varied, and really good. The staff was readily available, nice, and made it possible to check-in before the arranged arrival time. |The only thing I'd change was the shower in the room, as it didn't have a box, but a curtain, and the number of sockets (a couple more would be appreciated).

Only used the cafè and toilets here. Toilets were filthy. Paper on floor. No bn for paper although it said do not put in toilet. Smelly toilets too. Cafe was nothing special, definitely not a good variety of cakes

The first is the location, on the very beginning of Castille square, two minutes from bus station, ideal staring point for long walks around Valleta. Excellent location !|Stayed for 3 nights, room was with inner view looking to opposite hotel's rooms. Good ventilation ,the AC was silent.|Very friendly staff, there is 24 hours reception open, and the crew is speaking English, Italian, always helpful to chat with them.|There is transfer /not more than 15 Eur/ to and from airport , booked on the reception.|The hotel itself is a historic building and you can see the floor and stairs original one.|Breakfast is simple, but good in taste, cereals, sausages, cheese, jam, pastries, milk, eggs. And very good coffee, that's was a surprise. Strong and tasty. The breakfast is on the roof terrace overlooking the city.|Room was good, need a renovation, you can choose on different rooms on reservation depending on budget. Clean sheets and towels ,every day there was cleaning. |Aware the English type adapter! Check for European contacts or ask on reception.|Additional blankets and pillows.|There is a safe case in the wardrobe.|Bathroom has a bathtub , really do not why is this needed. The faucets are little bit dirty and worn out, but working . There are sanitary enough for the staying. Towels also need to be changed, some worn ,but clean enough.|And you got that old -fashioned room key ,not a plastic card ,and it's give a taste for old -gone times. And you are advised to leave the key on going out,as it is too big to care it on the day walks.|But the main is location! |It can be a budget hotel for just walking away on the beautiful Malta ! |Recommended!

It is a small but elegant hotel that has the best location by being close to public transportation as well as walking distance to restaurants, museums, historical parks. The front desk staff being 24 hours as well as the housekeeping staff were amazing. Very friendly as well as very helpful. They also have breakfast in a beautiful rooftop area & friendly staff

The staff is very kind, but the room is old. Typical issue in La Valletta, at least in this area. A rinnovation of the interiors would be advisable.
