Castille Paris (Paris, Île-de-France) 43 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It doesn’t get much more central than this for a Parisian hotel, around the corner from the Ritz, just off the Jardin des Tuileries, the Champs-Elysées, and everything that’s anything on the Right Bank, big and small — including Coco Chanel’s original atelier, which is still right next door. The setting is right for a classically Parisian hospitality experience, and the Castille doesn’t disappoint on that score." - Tablet Hotels

Beautiful and charming boutique hotel. Service was superb. Breakfast had a variety of delicious options, including tropical fruits. Service staff were excellent. Centrally located and close to everything. A shopper’s dream hotel with it being right next door to Chanel. My daughter and I truly enjoyed our stay and upgraded room.

This is a very well established and beautifully appointed and cared for hotel in the heart of Paris. It was spotlessly clean and very cozy.||Rooms were on the small side but beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was adequate.||Staff are excellent and very gracious.||Breakfast is served in a beautiful room overlooking a charming courtyard and offers a wonderful selection of both hot and cold items, fresh fruits and juices. The coffee is delicious .||I loved staying here and felt very welcome, very cared for and comfortable. Beautiful place. Highly recommend.

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and tidy with everything we needed (and more!) and I have never seen so much food in my life as at the breakfast buffet. It would never have occurred to me to have sweets and a chocolate fountain at breakfast - there was an amazing variety and quality of food. Additionally, the staff were happy to look after our cases for us for a few hours after we checked out, which was extremely helpful.

Outstanding Service – Thank You Alessandra ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay was amazing from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located, but what truly made it exceptional was the service especially from Alessandra, the manager. She was warm, professional, and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. Her personal touch made all the difference. We’ll definitely be back!

The Hotel is a lovely throwback to old France. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was a great start for us each morning. The seating in the dining area was a bit challenging because the chairs are not what you would consider a normal dining chair. They are fancy seats that are very low and hard to get out of. I enjoyed the friendly wake-up call each morning. The location was wonderful although hard for an uber to stop and let us off and on. The street is very narrow. The room was small and hard to maneuver a months worth of clothes and essentials but that seems to be the normal in Paris. The room was clean and taken care of each day including a turn down for the evening. My major concern that people should have is the bathroom. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has any kind of disability or is an older person. My husband and I are in our 70's and taking a shower in a slippery bath tub was very stressful every day. It was a beautiful tub but the back of it where you need to step in was slanted and there was a half shower screen towards the front that kept coming apart and flooding the floor if we didn't fix it after the room was cleaned. I was told there are only a few rooms with showers only and they are hard to book especially if you don't know to ask for it. I never would have expected how hard it would be to take a shower. If the shower isn't a problem for you, the hotel is a lovely choice.

An exquisite boutique hotel located in the perfect area of all these sites. Staff is accommodating, friendly and charming. The room was immaculate and spacious; we booked the two story loft-suite and couldn’t have been happier.

We’ve been to Paris over 20 times. The last stay was just wonderful at the Castille. The service, room and food were all wonderful. Caesar at the front desk was just a special person welcoming us to the hotel. A great experience overall.

Google
It was an amazing stay! I felt welcomed from the beginning of my stay till the end. Special shout to the Concierge Team, Michel has been helpful and professional, and to Aaron from the Front Desk Team, he welcomed me in the best possibile way, always with a smile and with an answer to our question! The whole Front Desk Team is actually very professional, helpful and amazing! Breakfast was delicious and dinner at the Restaurant too! Great Team, Great Hotel, Great 5* service!

Yelp
Everything was perfect and we enjoyed our 4 days at this hotel. The staff was right on target and the breakfast couldn't be better. The room we had was spacious for Europe and we loved our stay. This is our third time here and each time is better than the last.

Yelp
We stayed at the Castille for six nights. It was my first time in Europe, so it was interesting to see how hotels differ from those in the U.S. The rooms are smaller but still quite comfortable. We had a bathroom with the shower/bathtub and vanity and a separate room for the toilet. The hotel also provided some delicious chocolates as a welcome, as well as a cute tote bag. The bathroom had some beautiful toiletries and a hairdryer so no need to bring a power converter. We rented a couple rooms as a family and both rooms were great. For reference, the room I stayed had a courtyard view and was very quiet, but it was also mid November so it was probably too chilly for guests to eat / drink in the courtyard. Our housekeeping service was lovely and our package included breakfast. The breakfast buffet was great! There were many varieties of pastries, eggs, breakfast meats, cheeses, cereal, fruits, yogurts, juices and our family's favorite .... Homemade and piping hot madeleines that were hand delivered to each table. Location wise, the Castille is located next to the flagship Chanel boutique, a block away from the Saint Honore stores, a few blocks from the Opera House and strolling distance to the Louvre. Printemps and Galleries Lafayette are also a few blocks away, as well as cute bistros and patisseries. The hotel concierge and staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. I was a bit worried about my lack of French speaking skills and low knowledge of local culture, but they helped me to navigate the city.

Yelp
We just had the pleasure of staying here for 4 night for my 60th birthday. They made my birthday trip amazing. Upgrade our room to. JR suite. Had flowers and macaroons waiting for me in my room. Served me a great glass of champagne once we settled into our room. Everyone was just delightful. The location is great Metro station is just a couple blocks away and all the designer stores are just a block away. We will be back and soon !!

Yelp
Don't stay here. Extremely loud room not only from street noise but also there was some extremely loud machine/engine type noise coming from inside the hotel that kept us up all night. When we asked to change rooms they said they were fully booked and couldn't do anything to help. Didn't offer any other way to help remediate the situation. 3 weeks after we got back from our trip, the concierge is repeatedly calling and emailing us at all hours that we have an outstanding $250 balance for a private transfer that we used from the airport. We paid for the private transfer at the hotel and had a receipt to prove it. When we let the concierge know after multiple calls, he said it was a "misunderstanding" and the charge was in fact paid on their system. Really ridiculous experience. We are very frequent travelers but we will not be staying here ever again.

Yelp
My favorite hotel in Paris! Every single staff member goes out of their way to help and to be friendly. The Castille is certainly on the luxury side, but the staff is warm and makes you feel welcome, something that is not said of many luxury hotels, especially in the center of Paris. Rooms are clean and receive beautiful light from the large windows. Food is excellent, and the kitchen has always been accommodating to us vegans/vegetarians each time I've visited. To top it all off, they provide a real hairdryer!

Yelp
Here is my initial review. It may change based on whether or not the manager will change her mind about not providing any kind of gesture for the horrible night we spent at their hotel, or if a higher level manager will make a better business decision. I didn't get a chance to meet him. We came from the United states with our 5 month old baby who was suffering from jet lag as we did, so getting all the sleep we could was critical. Whenever we go to Paris, we always stay at this hotel as we enjoy the location and the personnel. Here is what happened that night: - Until 4am, 2 kids left alone in the room across the hallway were screaming and knocking at our door loudly before running away. It kept waking all of us up. Security finally opened their door and took them away. - We were able to go back to sleep around 4:45am - 5am, their mother knocks at our door by accident before going to her room. I don't know if she made the mistake because she was drunk or just forgot where she left her kids. - 6:30am: We finally got our baby to fall asleep and fall asleep right away. - 7am: The husband knocks at our door and wakes us all up. It is impossible at this point to get back to sleep for any of us until 9am. Note that we had our "do not disturb" sign on our door all night, which should have made it a little more difficult to confuse our door with any other door, but that's beyond the point. - We wake up at 1:30pm. The day is pretty much wasted. This was our last day in Paris. - I went to talk to the manager who expressed how sorry she was that this happened to us, but would take zero accountability nor would offer any kind of gesture. Any other 4+ star hotel I have been to would have offered at least a free night or a free suite upgrade for our next stay, whenever it might be. Even though the hotel is not directly responsible for the behavior of their guests, that would have saved a recurrent customer satisfaction and even almost secured a new reservation for our next vacation in Paris. However this manager didn't have it in her. That's too bad. There are lots of nice hotels in the same area. Thank you.

Yelp
Lovely boutique style hotel a block from Place Vendome. Warm and welcoming staff, beautiful breakfast buffet, small and intimate bar. Calm luxury in the middle of upscale shopping mayhem.

Gijsbert G.

Yelp
Alize and her staff have gone out of their way to facilitate us and make our stay as accommodating as could be. Next to that the concierge and breakfast staff where also very helpful to make our stay as pleasant as can be. The cook comes around in the breakfast room with these delicious madeleines. A must have. The hotel Castille is very well located near de faubourg st honore, very central with almost everything on walking distance. The yardstick for a hotel rating is the fact you want to return because the experience leaves you with a very pleasant memory. As said the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Good karma. Strong recommendation. Merci Alize and staff. Gijsbert Groenewegen

Yelp
This is a fraudulent hotel. Pls do not book as I booked on hotels.com as a refundable pay at hotel and they immediately charged my credit card fully and refused to refund until I complained to hotels.com and their corporate office got involved. They refunded partially and ignored all my subsequent messages. They are part of a larger fraudulent hotel group called Starshotel from Italy with very bad ratings. Avoid as there are plenty of other options and real hotels.

Yelp
Beautiful luxury hotel. If you're willing to explore Paris on foot, this is the right hotel for you. Very close to everything. The staff were SOOO friendly and helpful. It might seem a little pricy, but worth every dollar/euro.
google avatar

Yvonne Y.

Yelp
No longer a sofitel hotel. It's part of the Star hotel chain that's mainly Italian hotels. Regardless, excellent service. They actually checked on us because we requested no room cleaning during our stay. Very friendly staff and the room and bathroom are quite spacious. Did hear funny pipe sounds randomly throughout the day but nothing a pair of earplugs couldn't take care of. Excellent location for tourists.

Yelp
Stayed here on a trip to Paris. The hotel is in a perfect location, close to the best shopping in the world yet on a side street that is away from the middle of everything. The rooms are very small but very nice. The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to make recommendations about things to do in Paris and how to get there. It's a very boutique hotel and has a very Parisian feel. One issue however was that the bathtub was having a drainage issue which is both inconvenient and gross when you're taking a shower. Aside from this, the overall experience was great and I would definitely stay here again.
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
The staff here are so nice and accommodating. Even though there was construction noise, I would stay here again bc the service was A+ and the location is amazing. Special shout out to Jed at the front desk who was super helpful to our big group staying there!

Yelp
Wonderful boutique hotel with impeccable customer service. An incredible location, just behind the Ritz Paris and the Place Vendome. Around the corner from the original Chanel factory and store. Breakfast, gym, dog-friendly, 24-hr room service, and a great staff. Very cute decor, too. Get a 6th floor room for the best light. VERY reasonable prices. We would highly recommend.

Yelp
We loved staying at the Castille for our first trip to Paris! For tourists, it's conveniently located to all of the sites, and we were able to walk almost every where. It's in a very bougie part of town, and situated next to the flagship Chanel shop, so it kind of felt like being in the middle of Rodeo Dr. Not really a plus for me (I spend my money on food, wine, and body lotion, not clothes, shoes, and bags), but it's fun to see the creative window displays. The room was small (by American standards) but perfect for the two of us. The bathroom was luxe and made me feel like a queen. We had beautiful views of Parisian rooftops, we had free wifi, and the bed felt heavenly after a long day of exploring. The concierge really made it though, and I'm so glad we chose Paris as the place to splurge on a hotel instead of staying at an Airbnb like we did the rest of our trip. One woman who worked there was so pleasant and so knowledgable about vegan cuisine, that she was able to offer recommendations for a vegan-friendly restaurant that I hadn't even heard of, and I had done my research! She made and adjusted reservations for us, was very thorough, and truly made our trip just perfect. There are pitchers of fruit infused water in the lobby, and a super cute gray cat who just hangs about like a boss. Normally, the Castille would've been too expensive for us, but we found an online deal for almost 30% off per night, so definitely shop around. While on my next trip, I think I'd want to be closer to the younger side of town (more vegan options without needing to hop in a cab or walk a half hour, hehe), this really was perfect for us first timers.

Yelp
This charming hotel is on a quiet street but steps from the main shopping areas in Paris. The rooms are normal for Europe (small) but very nice. The check-in staff members were warm and most spoke English. They also have orange and lemon infused water in the lobby. Our package here included free breakfast every morning. They have a decent size buffet with croissants and other pastries, fruits, eggs, meat and several cheeses. The food was great. The service was not - we had to ask six times for cups, utensils, and a variety of other things that never arrived (I ate my eggs with a coffee spoon). WiFi is expensive - 15 euros for 2 hours or 20 for the day. Also, this is no longer a Sofitel hotel, but I have no way of knowing how much you care about such things.

Yelp
Fellas - take it from me and do NOT under any circumstances travel with your significant other (lady friend or life partner) and stay at this hotel. DO NOT, I say. Heed my warning well. It is down the street from the main flagship Chanel boutique. It is also down the street from the Vendome - where there's like a lot of jewelry stores. It is also within striking distance of Rue Saint Honore, where Cartier and all manner of other boutiques live. Your credit card is going to go into meltdown mode. Don't say I didn't warn you. Oh yeah - it's a boutique hotel with clean rooms and helpful staff. Really a nice location otherwise. Restaurant is probably not worth bothering with, especially with all the different places in Paris you can go find...

Yelp
Some of the rooms seemed quite small, but there is a 2-floor suite/loft kind of room that is wonderful. Close to everything, though out of the hustle and bustle. Near the Louvre, the Opera, and close walking to everything. Stayed in March, and from what we could tell, prices double in summer.

Mike A.

Yelp
I spoke with roughly 5 or 6 individuals at the hotel and parent company. All pointed their finger elsewhere and said that someone else dictates whether or not a refund would be given. I also spoke to someone in the industry, who used to work for Starhotels and said this policy is terrible. Very frustrated and disappointed in the experience I have had. I guess if no problems arise then you are good to go, but god forbid something happen.

Yelp
This hotel was absolutely wonderful in every way. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and luxurious. The bed was beyond amazing, the bathroom as well. This was our first visit to Paris, and my mom and I couldn't have chosen better. Centrally located in the 1st (a gorgeous neighborhood) everything was within walking distance, and it is close to the metro. Every person who worked here was lovely and helpful. If you are debating about spending a bit more on a luxury hotel, it is worth every euro. So glad I chose Castille.
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
Perfect boutique hotel in the best neighborhood in Paris. You can walk to all of Paris' sites and shops from this hotel. Our original room was very small so we upgraded to a 2-floor suite which feels like an apartment! There's a vast difference between the two room sizes. Service was pretty good - not over-the-top 5 star - but still no complaints. If/when I come back to Paris, I would definitely consider returning to Castille.

Yelp
Ive stayed here twice and love it! Fabulous staff, beautiful rooms, outdoor garden, art deco lobby, fab location with a high walkability feature. My 1st choice for a Paris visit!

Yelp
Last June I spent 4 wonderful nights at the Castille in Paris with my husband and vowed that I would return to Paris again. Well, that wish came true and I did return to Paris with my daughter for a 6 nights vacation. When planning this trip on Travelocity the Hotel Castille came up as one of my choices. Knowing about the hotel and location, I of course booked it without hesitation. Upon our arrival, I was truly happy that we were greeted by Erih-whom I had met last trip. He remembered me and without hesitation he said that he didn't think that we would be comfortable in the room we pre-paid for (Superior) that he suggests upgrading to a Deluxe room for only 30e per night. Erih brought us up to the room so that we could decide if we wanted the upgrade. As soon as we walked into the room the decision to upgrade was made! The room number was 151- it was one of their "Coco-inspired rooms" with high ceilings, distressed floor-to-ceiling mirrors, wall of closets, 1930's mono-chromatic designed headboard, lampshades and floor to ceiling curtains. The double set of tall windows in the bedroom opened up onto a view of Rue Cambon. The separate bathroom had double sinks, a step in tub/shower and tall windows that also opened with a view of the flags that decorated the front entrance of the hotel (which made for a wonderful photo-op). I cannot say enough about this hotel. It is truly a gem in The City of Lights! The staff members are welcoming and kind. I will be back!

Yelp
Stayed here for first time in early December. Great time to be in Paris and The Castille was a joy to stay at.Felt like I was at home.Especially enjoyed the house .Reminded me of my two cats at home. Accommodations were unique and first rate.Location is perfect and slightly removed from the frenetic centers but still close enough. We have stayed in many of the "Palace Hotels" of Paris and I was just as pleased if not more.Just the right amount of attention paid to guests as opposed to some hotels which can be overbearing.Concierge ,doormen and desk staff were a delight.

Yelp
I booked a stay here before moving over to the hotel I would be staying during my time in Paris. I wanted cute and Parisian Chic. This place fit the bill. I paid $350 or so for the night. I arrived at around 9pm and left the next morning at 9 am! My experience wasn't great. The reception wasn't that friendly and my room was tiny!! In the morning I was changing and this employee walked into my room!!! I understand that sometimes housekeeping will knock and would want to come in. But there was no warning. What if I was naked? Lol. I mean- c'mon. I work in hospitality. That is not ok! Breakfast was meh. Paid 32€ for the continental breakfast. Idk if they had another option, but I'm a coffee pastry kind of girl and that was way overpriced. Luckily... I was glad to leave at 9 am to Le Meurice. Peace out!!

Stockton H.

Yelp
Lovely, charming & comfortable room! The products were all from Etro, the towels were thick & soft & the bathrobe was nice & warm. The location was so convenient near major museums & walking distance to several Metro lines. The staff at the reception, concierge & room service were friendly & English speaking. We loved it here. We would recommend it to others & would come back again.

Sydney P.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel in the heart of Paris. We stayed here for a long weekend and were in love with the location. Rue Cambon is situated in the heart of the city and is in walking distance to all major sites. For those eager to shop, it is conveniently right next door to the flagship Chanel store... The room was well maintained and relatively spacious for a European hotel. When we arrived in the room, there were delicious cookies to welcome us. The bathroom was particularly large and provided ample space for 2 people to get ready in the morning.

Yelp
the location is central to everything posh... hell their next door neighbor is chanel. you can feel glitzy without paying the enormous price. often while walking down from the metro you pass by the ritz employees all coifed, uniformed & puffing away on their cigs like typical french. yea, smoking is rampant in paris. the hotel offers great customer service at all hours of the day & night. me & a girlfriend came back from a night out on the town & maybe they took pity on us & our whining about how paris doesn't have late night eats; though they were able to make us a grilled cheese sandwich even though the kitchen was closed. i loved the chocolates on the pillows each day & the turn down service was great. the infused water served in the lobby area is a great refreshment while you're waiting to check in or just feel like lounging in the lobby or salon area. the rooms are small on american standards, though in european standards it's spacious. their wifi is ok/decent. we found a great deal on jetsetter (http://www.jetsetter.com/invite/fastmaddy) & they are often on there, so i recommend booking through the site. the hotel isn't far away from all the great sites.

Yelp
While the rooms are not bad and the hotel seems cute upon first arrival, the service was terrible. We were woken up at 7am to construction in the room above us. When we called down, they did not do anything to assist us. We called down 4 times before anyone offered to do anything, at which point, we'd had enough and checked out. They still charged us the full price for the room! We strongly advise against staying here!

Camila L.

Yelp
Hotel castille was the worst experience I have ever had in Paris France ever. The first room they put us into was as small as a bathroom. The second was not much of a change. The pictures I saw online were amazing but they were of the new wing. They finally put us in there the last night but I was still not happy. I was told that breakfast was included but then told it wasn't. I had to go to the Bergundy hotel to use the spa and would've rather stayed there in the first place.

Joe W.

Yelp
Comfortable duplex room, very helpful staff, fantastic location, lovely & mostly indifferent grey hotel cat, Eliot. Love the breakfasts and mostly loved the dinners, too. You can't do much better in Paris.

Chris O.

Yelp
A Hidden Gem In Arrondissement 1! This boutique, luxury hotel makes a Paris stay a bit more practical. It is conveniently located in the center of the city. It takes 5-10 minutes to hail a taxi. The hotel can call you a reputable taxi, and can also send one to you while you're out and about. Consider the metro for getting around, as the station is around the corner. Whether you're visiting the Left Bank or Right, this hotel will have you in the perfect location. The rooms are gorgeous and the hotel staff is world class. The internationally accommodating front-desk team will assist and solve your every need. The food suits both international cuisines and the expected French classics. Breakfast here will start your day in luxury. Rooms are both modern and Parisian at the same time. Several lifts and stairwells. Expect several French businesspeople, and even celebrities. The pictures tell the truth, pure beauty!
