Castillo Hotel Son Vida

We had a great stay here - a perfect weekend away. The service is great (Xavier at check-in and the guys at the valet were phenomenal) and the food was delicious, if overpriced (EUR35 for a regular burger by the pool!). Great treatment as a plat; upgrade to one of the tower suites, early + late check-in, complimentary drinks in the bar. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back

- Beautiful hotel set in an old castle. |- Lovely view of the gardens from our balcony. |- Nice outdoor furniture. Additionally, the terrace/ outdoor area overlooking Palma is a top class spot for a drink pre/ post dinner. There was a DJ there one night playing the saxophone who was fantastic. |- Bar staff were friendly. Cocktails were also delicious. |- Breakfast to the room is amazing. |- They brought me a birthday cake which was a touch of class! |- The poolside food is tasty. |- We thought it was decent value for money. ||- Pool service was slow and should improve. It is a pity because the pool area is very nice and a great spot to chill out and relax for the day. This is the only thing that lets it down. |- Not sure how well the shops underneath the hotel fit in. Little unusual for a luxury castle hotel!

Hotel is beautiful and so are the grounds and its location in Mallorca. However, the staff is either poorly trained or don’t care. They have zero attention to detail and no awareness level, especially in the restaurant and pool area.|The other reviews that point this out are correct. Unfortunately, I didn’t heed their advice.

I have just come back from this wonderful hotel and despite reading some negative reviews I couldn’t find anything to fault.This was our first stay her and really loved it. The staff are so lovely and it’s very noticeable how they have been trained to speak to guests. Nothing is too much for them,from breakfast staff..Paula who well fell in love with was just the most delightful girl who had the time to chat and nothing was too much for her. Pedro one of the concierge was a delight too telling us how he had been with the hotel for 31 years..You could just tell he was a long lasting employee. The pool staff were very accommodating,getting you towels and always helpful to move your umbrella into the shade!|We checked in quickly and waited for our room as we were early so had a lovely light lunch at pool cafe. Good choices of food and drinks,nicely presented. Our room was on 7th floor and had a nice balcony to the side of the hotel so we got the sun in the morning. Bed and pillows were very comfy and have fallen in love with the BYREDO products in the bathroom which were amazing.Good bath,shower,large bath towels and excellent hot water and good water pressure.plenty of bottled water every day in room as there is no shops in walking distance of hotel.Hair dryer was excellent too.Breakfast was excellent and very high quality food,fruit,homemade granola and amazing types of breads . Lovely cakes and beigles,smoked salmon,smashed avocado and excellent cheeses and of course any egg you wanted.Also a selection of different yogurts and milks.The fruit selection was of highest quality.You went inside to get the breakfast in two areas but we ate outside.only the first weekend was it busy so had to eat inside. Breakfast is on till 11 am every morning which we really liked. Also the tea was excellent,fresh tea brewed in a pot,very good indeed and good latte coffee.My only minor comment would be I feel they need to install a hot water/coffeemachine to quicken the service to get your drinks.|There is a bus stop outside hotel for 2 euros. The bus comes every hour at 15 min past the hour. It stops right outside El Corte Ingles in Jaume 111 and took 20/23 min. Coming back to be honest we picked up a taxi which was 11 euros.DO NOT use UBER as they charge double the price. Much cheaper to get taxi in street in Palma or order a taxi from hotel if you don’t want the bus.Sun loungers were easy to get at pool and no need to reserve early.They were also very comfortable.|We ate in the hotel restaurant which was outstanding. Very high quality fine dining food which was beautifully presented on lovely crockery. Often you could hear the live music from the bar which was lovely as you were having dinner but the music stopped at maybe 8.30/9.Again staff were well trained and service was good.hotel has lovely inside/outside bar too.|We had a welcome party a few days after we arrived and met with the General manager.lovely canopies were served together with a selection of cava/wine.Even the toilets round the hotel were supplied with ladies sanitary wear in a glass jar!!|I honestly can say this was such a beautiful holiday and as widely travelled guests we can both honestly say we were made very welcome and enjoyed our stay immensely.we will be back!

I will admit that I loved my stay here when it comes to the room. They upgraded me to one of the Suites in the corner, which is spacious. They also gave me generous amount of tea, coffee, and water, which is a rarity for hotels of this standards.||However, service is more or less lacking for a hotel this caliber. For example, at the restaurant, it took the waiter 20 minutes to come to me and ask, "Has anyone taken your order?" During breakfast, they forgot my coffee order multiple times.||Additionally, I didn't do my due diligence on this, which was clearly my fault... but the hotel is extremely tough to reach with public transportation. The only bus line that goes through here is the Bus No. 7 that runs only once an hour and even that bus is always filled to capacity between the hours of 15:00 and 18:00.||This is a hotel that's truly for those who want to get away for everything, so if you're thinking of staying in a hotel that's accessible to all main attractions in Mallorca, this is definitely not the one.

I was warmly and kindly welcomed by the whole staff and they handled the whole process from check in until check out on the highest professionalism. I want to express special greetings to the Hotel Manager GABRIEL, and the reception Staff including (Toni,Farren, and the ladies aswell, sorry can’t remember all Names) I truly enjoyed my stay at the Royal Suite it was amazing and the views were just stunning, I can also highly recommend the Hotel Restaurant for dinner and breakfast (also the restaurant staff was kind, fast and professional) in general everyone was amazing and I will stay definitely again in Castillo Son Vida!

This is my 5th time in Mallorca and this was the nicest, most luxurious hotel that I’ve stayed in. The entire hotel is an authentic old castle from the 1800s, with old features and artwork still present. It is conveniently close to Palma - a 10 minute drive to the centre or 15 minutes from the airport. The pool and terrace facilities are simply stunning. The hotel is built on a hill so you can see all over Palma and the coast. There are so many different terraces and corners of the hotel to explore, both inside and out. Food options were amazing and the poolside bar was especially friendly. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

This is 5 star luxury at its best. Service, food and property is fantastic. Beds very comfortable and rooms elegant. Only feedback, pool bar service to go a little later as 6pm too early & live music on terrace to go past sunset. This is minor though as everything is magnificent.

Stuff is really unfriendly and slow. By lunch they forgot the half of the food. And it tooks super long. Mind the restaurant there.

A relaxing getaway ride outside of Palma. The pool is so relaxing and has gorgeous cliffside views. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The restaurants - breakfast lunch and dinner and drinks - are amazing. The best freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious filet mignon and duck. Cozy vintage bar room to have a cocktail late at night. Overall a great experience.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. The hotel looks like a castle, and it exudes classic elegance. The service is top notch as well. All the hotel staff go out of their way to make your stay memorable. We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon, and were so pleased with everything. The room are really large, and our bathroom even had a heated floor! The breakfast is great too, but us the same every day. There is no variety in any of the dishes except for the desserts that are put out (leftover from previous night). Wi-Fi is a little slow, and the TVs in the rooms are small. This isnt the most "high tech" or "business" resort out there if that is what you are looking for. Overall, 4.5 stars!

Sadly only had one evening at this hotel but it was absolutely gorgeous! Very close to Palma, at least closer than staying on the other side of the island where the Hyatt resort is. I really loved this hotel, it used to be a castle and has so much charm. We had a room with quite a grand balcony and an amazing view of palma and the near by golf courses. If you are going to Mallorca to have an relaxing vacation I'd definitely recommend this hotel. As an SPG member, I did receive an upgrade and daily breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet was amazing with tons of insanely good options. And chilling poolside was just about as relaxing as it gets. The hotel was under construction when we were there which was a tad bit annoying. They lose a star because you cannot make the air conditioning in the room go below 27 degrees celsius and that's just too hot for me to sleep in.

My husband and I spent the second half of our honeymoon in Mallorca and Castillo Hotel Son Vida came highly recommended. We *almost* forgot the purpose of our trip until we arrived and were greeted by Davinia at check-in with a very warm, genuine welcome. Upon hearing we were honeymooning, she was kind enough to upgrade our room (it was massive!) and then proceeded to send champagne and chocolates to our room. It was a lovely introduction and made us feel truly special and welcomed and celebrated as newlyweds. This wonderful ambiance was consistent throughout our stay. Housekeeping leaves you fresh bottles of water and chocolates in your room daily and in Davinia's absence, both Jose and Amanda were always ready to help us. For activities and reservations outside the property, both Pep Toni and Angel guided us with honest and experienced recommendations. Should you not want to venture far, the resort has nights of entertainment planned as well - the evening we arrived there was an acoustic guitarist to accompany our buffet dinner. It was lovely. The entire property is charming and romantic. I can't stress enough that every member of staff went above and beyond and made us feel welcome and like we never wanted to leave.

My husband and I stayed at Castillo Hotel Son Vida for five nights last month. The property and room was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. It seemed like the maids came multiple times a day to clean the room and bring water. There were only a few things we didn't like about the hotel. We are very active people and we felt like we were "stuck" on the property unless we paid 12 euros to taxi into town or took a very long bus ride to town for 2 euros/person. The hotel is in a beautiful area, but it's inconvenient if you plan to go in to town or the beach often. Also, we had trouble with requesting things from the concierge (ice, iron, etc.) and it never arriving. We had to ask three times before the iron made it to our room. When we first arrived, we waited over an hour for our luggage to be brought to our room before we went down and brought it up ourselves. However, we heard from other guests there that they had no trouble with the service. I recommend Castillo Hotel Son Vida if you want a high-class, beautiful hotel. However, if you plan to be in town or the beach often you may want to look elsewhere.
