What a fantastic lunch after visiting the whimsical, Mediterranean Village of Portmeirion located in Wales. This place is connected to a hotel where it seems a lot of local and out-of-town guests choose to stay. When you enter there is a charming fireplace with carved statues of knights on its side. It has comfortable seating for you to warm yourself while getting a drink at the bar located 10 steps diagonal from the couches. (In June the temperature was between 51 to 68 degrees, so this fireplace was appreciated by this Florida gal.) Beautiful seating areas overlooked the greenery and open skies awaited. Lunch was an extravagant serving of duck, lamb, vegetables, and chocolate mousse. Service was warm and expedient. I did not stay at the hotel but if the hotel was anything like my lunch experience..... I'd surely book a room upon my return to Wales.
