Castle Garden Bazaar (Várkert Bazár) is a beautifully restored Neo-Renaissance complex at the foot of Buda Castle — a must-see blend of history, architecture, gardens, and culture in Budapest. Built in the late 19th century by iconic architect Miklós Ybl and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it was meticulously revitalized in 2014, giving it new life as a vibrant cultural venue. Inside, you’ll find galleries, underground event halls, cafés, and restaurants—ideal for exhibitions, concerts, and seasonal festivals. Very beautiful garden in a well structured monument full of history. When you reach the top of the gardens, take a moment to admire the view and tram that passes by. Also, if you have some time, I would totally recommend booking a tour to Empress Sissy’s stares and secret room. The replica of Sissy was stunning, and I got to learn a few more details about her life in Budapest. Just be careful not to book one in Hungarian.

A nice garden to walk through and take pictures of. Was still under construction when I was there but still spend quite some time there. Pretty flowers, fountains, sculptures and architecture. No ticket needed.

Just beautiful. I loved strolling the gardens and having a view of the river. I googled it while there and read about the history. Definitely recommended when visiting Budapest.

Magnificent place… architecture, effort to make this place look stunning just amazing! FREE to visit. Beautiful green garden, great for kids, families or couples to chill out. Either walk up to the castle or down to the river Danube, this place is a great spot to start. Romantic, the scenery of Pest, the bridges… It is a must see part of Budapest 👍🏻

A must visit spot in Budapest. Very nice especially close to sunset; the scene is just epic!
