* Superficial hospitality. Unpleasant attitude from the host (the young man running the place). Apparently this echoes some other reviews.
* Learning that I live in Amsterdam, the young man running the place offered me to try the local weed (...).
* For the best sunset in Bled the young man running the place suggested to trespass the fence on the back side of the Castle.
Situation:
I was heading for a 3 day mountaineering around Triglav at 5am when I learned that the door of the kitchen is actually locked, and hence not being able to reach the food & snacks I've prepared for the next days.
When I ultimately found the phone number (there is no contact details at the premises in case of urgency in the hostel) and reached the host, I was told that entering the kitchen it is not possible and the sign on the door says the kitchen opens at 7am. I inquired for some solution e.g. for a key to unlock & lock the kitchen. He dropped the call. When I called again, he said not to phone and again dropped the call.
Respectfully, the sign on the kitchen door only speaks about the closure at 11pm (which may be tricky to notice during the day when the door is opened). The sign does NOT indicate the kitchen to open at 7am. Other hostels use the term 'closure of the kitchen' to stop cooking at night, not the actual lock of the door.
What IF I had a medicine in the fridge (?)
