Yelp
Definitely not up to par with Marriotts other Autograph Collection properties. Yes the hotel is cool and different, it's themed and well decorated, and the pool area/grounds are beautiful....but it lacks in accommodation standards, service, and amenities. The personnel are great! Friendly and accommodating, you can tell they are doing what they can with what they have been given. And the saving grace here was the rate....we got it for $65/nt on hotels.com. Marriott wouldn't match the rate through Bonvoy so we had to go through a 3rd party. Normally it's $115-135/nt.
Understandably things are a little different with COVID19, however, we waited until Florida was in Phase 3 to take a little vacation. Although many other hotels are fully functioning, this one is not. So keep that in mind before you book. They are no on-site food options at all, none of the restaurants are open, there's no room service, and the outdoor pool bar is also closed. The lobby bar is open from 5-10pm, and that's it, that's all you get. There is a TuTu Tango Restaurants on the backside of the building but it gets extremely overcrowded.
They are still not cleaning your rooms, or swapping out your used towels, or even emptying your trash. This was a common practice during the first few months of the pandemic but at this point they should at least be coming in to get you clean towels and take out the trash. We didn't expect the room to be vacuumed or the place to be spotless, but at the very least towels and trash could be removed daily. Not here, you will have to call for those services.
Parking is ok unless you are coming back after 6pm. Between the Restaurant and the Hotel guests, it's not enough parking. The people at TuTu Tango park at the hotel as well, so they have limited space in the evenings.
Lastly, the rooms are run down and cheap. There may be some "tower" rooms that are upgraded and nice but the standard rooms look like dressed up Motel 6 rooms. This must've been an older hotel they built on, you can tell the closets, the lighting, the walls, the ceiling, the finishes....all old and run down. Shower water pressure was non existent. The closet had no lights and it was an awkwardly located, pillows were flat, the there are no sheer curtains on the windows, just the blackout curtains. So you have no privacy if you want to let in some light. It was disappointing.
Like I said, at $65/nt it was all good because you are getting what you pay for. But if you've stayed at any of Marriotts other Autograph Collection resorts, you will be left wanting at this one.
