Our room was a good size and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the garden in the back was nice. Location was in the quieter part of town but only a short walk to the center of old town. My only complaint is no A/C, but there was a fan in the room and it wasn't too hot.

I recently stayed at Castle House Hotel for a couple of nights and had a truly pleasant experience. The hotel is located in an excellent area, offering great connectivity and just a short walk from the town center—making it very convenient for exploring the surroundings. The property itself was impressively neat and clean, with well-maintained rooms and facilities that reflected a strong attention to detail. What truly stood out, however, was the outstanding service provided by the staff. They were incredibly prompt, helpful, and consistently went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. Their warmth and professionalism really made a difference. I would highly recommend Castle House Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and conveniently located stay, backed by top-notch service.

We had a quick overnight stay using 2 rooms. Both were a great size with comfortable beds and big bathrooms one even had a bath! The breakfast was continental, which some reviews complain about. However, this is clear on the website and we found it all very acceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel cat was very cute. The location is perfect for a 10 minute walk into the city and free parking a bonus. We will definitely stay again.

5 minute walk into the centre and free parking, staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was a good size and it was better, then we expected, I took one star off as the four pillows we had were hard and uncomfortable, also there was a dirty panty liner in the bathroom bin. I thought the continental breakfast was great and lots of choices. However, arrive early, we got there at 9.30 and there was no crossaints left, no ham, 1 slice of cheese left and 2 small rolls left. However, there was Plenty of fruit, cereal, cereal bars, youguts, jams, nuts and dried fruit, Salami, and they brought out toast. We enjoyed our stay and would come again

The stay was spoilt but there are advantages. The location is very easy to find, it is next to a relatively busy roundabout but we were on the city side of the hotel so could not hear it. There is parking on site, which is a real bonus for city stays. |Location, very good, you are a 5-10 minute walk from the historic centre and a very short walk from a fantastic local pub.|We had the family room and it was a good size with a double and two singles. The beds were not crammed into the room and there was a cupboard for storing bags, hanging clothes which had a safe and fan in too. Beds were comfortable and clean, with nice pillows too.|Tea and coffee in the room, good towels and soap in the en-suite bathroom. Bathroom had a good shower, rainfall, and was clean. So all we wanted.|The room was hot and we could not turn off the radiators, but we could open one window and being away from the main road it was not too noisy.|Breakfast was a good range of cereals, boxed, or granola which had a good range of berries and nuts to add. Croissants and rolls, toast on request, good range of spreads too. All we needed for the start of the day.|There is a bar area and this is where we are not too pleased. It closes at 10pm and we decided to end a long day there with a nightcap. There were no prices advertised and hotel prices can be more expensive, we accept that. Although you are meant to get a 10% discount as a resident. Four large drinks, which presumably we had the discount applied to cost as much as the same drink in a five star hotel and twice as much as we had been paying nearby. I work in London so I am used to high prices, but they usually come with atmosphere, service etc. This did not and if we had known (no prices on show) we would have stayed in the wonderful pub just 3 minutes away for our nightcap. We did contact the hotel after we left to check the charge was right and apparently it is. So although the stay was good it did add a sour note to our visit. |Our advice if you want to return to the hotel for a nightcap is don't. There is a really good pub nearby with music and a friendly atmosphere or take a drink to your room (the atmosphere will be no different but you can be in your pjs)

Fabulous location, free onsite parking and fantastically clean. Staff were very helpful and polite. Our room (8) was very quiet and a good size bathroom. The mattresses in our opinion could do with replacing. The continental breakfast was adequate at best. There was a great selection of cereals but most of the fruit was tinned and the selection of cheese (2) and cold meats were average 'catering' quality as were the tea bags and coffee. A slight upgrade to the quality of the breakfast ingredients would hugely improve the experience. Best features were its location, the car park and the cleanliness of the property plus the welcoming staff.

It's a great place to stay. We had a large, clean, comfy room with a huge bed (No 8). We enjoyed an extensive continental breakfast. The staff were all very friendly. It was a short walk to all shops and sights. Would definitely stay here again.

The room we had was extremely hot and you could not turn the heating down. The bathroom floor had broken tiles which had been poorly fixed and still sharp. Please change the tiles before someone cuts their foot. The mixer tap in the bath did not work and you had to sit in the bath and hold downthe button whilst the water was running. The water is extremely hot and is dangerous. At night the pipes in the room was knocking and making noise, so you did not sleep at all. In the morning the breakfast was the worst continental breakfast ever!.. My wife never even got the toast she asked for!. As a returning customer the hotel needs maintenance and we used to get a cooked English breakfast but instead now you get an awful continental breakfast, the worst iv ever had!.

Yelp
Quite a good hotel. The rooms are palatial! The service very friendly We were moved here from the Pilgrims Hotel near the middle of the old town, since that hotel was undergoing renovations beyond schedule, and these are two of four hotels owned by the same people. At first we were a little bummed to be away from the middle, especially because we had to lug our bags all the way over from Pilgrims to Castle House. But in the end we were happy with the hotel. The somewhat remote location made us walk more and explore things that we otherwise probably wouldn't have found. I believe the pricing is similar to Pilgrims, which is quite reasonable.

Yelp
I can't speak as to the pricing of this hotel, but it was pretty nice. I stayed here with my mom and sister back in October of 2010. The whole space was cozy and quaint. As is standard for the area/country, the hallways were eensy weensy (we had to really squeeze going around sharp corners up the staircase with our luggage. BUT the room was really large! The attached bathroom was also quite big with a nice, big shower. Would definitely recommend this place if you need to stay in Canterbury.

Yelp
Enjoyed an absolutely lovely two night stay at Castle House. We were able to check in slightly early, and the young man working the desk was welcoming and friendly after a 12 hour plane ride. Breakfast was hot and fast with a wonderful selection of hot and Continental choices. To top it off, the little bar provided us with some nice glasses of wine at a reasonable price in the evening. Our room was inviting with the old charm of the area and the bed was comfy enough. All in all, lovely stay in this great city.

Yelp
Pleasant small room, with one window onto a busy, noisy roundabout. Comfortable firm bed- but pack earplugs. Great breakfast served by cheery staff. Ample parking. Walking distance to all the Canterbury tourist activities.
