Castle Liechtenstein

We travelled to Vienna by car from Greece (and if you can do it, I highly recommend it). On January 1st, 2026, we had a few free hours and came across this place on the map. The drive there is magical, and the view of the castle perched on the hillside is incredible. It wasn’t open, but the visit was still totally worth it just for the scenery!

Beautiful and calm place. Very interesting inside. Guided in German and English at the same time. Guide did a good job. Worth to visit. The guide tour takes about an hour.

Beautifull caste just a few minutes from Vienna. The tour is every hour and lasts a little over an hour. It is not allowed to take pictures in the castle. The entrance fee is reasonable. Parking near the castle is only for residents, visitors must park in a large free parking lot about half a kilometer from the castle. I recommend combining the visit with the nearby cave Seegrote.

Nice place to visit. 💚 Peaceful surroundings and a calm atmosphere. I enjoyed the walk and the view. Worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

Don't miss this castle! You can get inside only with a guide, tours are every round hour. The price is for a guided tour. We didn't know that tours are 1xhour and missed one at 13.00. Had to hang around for about 45 min, but there is a nice sculpture garden at the foot of the castle and a cafe. If a group is big, they split it and tour with 2 guides. We were lucky to have Julian as our guide, he was doing tour bilingual German-English and at an extremely professional level! A round of applause to him! The tour takes about an hour and is very informative! Park your car on the main parking some 300m from the castle and take a walking trail left from it. Don't go uphill via the car road.

Very beautiful castle. Please check the schedule before the visit, as you can get inside only with guided tour. The tour was rather short, about 59 minutes ( I had a regular tour). But it was very interesting. Also, castle is located in very beautiful place. So, I recommend to visit the place and walk around.
