Lovely stay with our granddaughter. She loved the log cabin experience and the wood burning fireplace, with the added jacuzzi tub as a bonus. The cabin was clean and had daily room upkeep. We had a lot of family time as the cabin is spacious with room for everyone to enjoy. It’s a great place to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Easy access to Banff and Lake Louise, plus all the other sites along the way!

The first thing that came to my mind was the view of the mountain, secondly the smells of the pine trees and finally the fire pit burning off fresh logs. Heaven. We stayed in suite 3 in the big building. A cabin on the second floor. There are 21 stairs to reach it, but worth the view. The kitchen had all the iminities to make a meal. Bed and bedding were comfortable, clean and fresh. If you like a flat pillow, bring it. DVD's are provided in the store if you want to watch a movie. Ear plugs are on the night tables, if the train horns bother you at night. I find it a comforting sound. A jacuzzi for 2 is in the bathroom, and a separate shower. To top this all off, the products are all from the Rocky Mountain Soap store in Banff. Hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, sanitizer, body wash...what can I say, it really is the little things.

The perfect place to stay to explore Banff, Yoho and Kootenay National Parks! Loved our cabin - it was HUGE! Could’ve had a party in the bathroom alone! Well equipped, spotlessly clean, really comfortable bed, good quality bed linen, soft fluffy towels and bathrobes. Fire all ready to light. Beautiful view to Castle Mountain, and friendly helpful staff in the gas station. Good laundry room and a gym if you hadn’t used all your energy hiking! Only 10 minutes to Johnston Canyon, 15 to Marble Canyon and 20 to Lake Louise. Right on the Bow Valley Parkway. The trains didn’t bother us at all - if we heard one in the night we just snuggled back down in that lovely comfy bed! Ear plugs provided but we didn’t need them, the trains aren’t that frequent. There’s a good restaurant at Baker’s Creek or 25 minutes to Banff. Highly recommend staying here!

This is the perfect place to stay to explore this beautiful area. The cabin was huge with a ginormous bed and beautiful quality bed linen. Fluffy soft towels and spotlessly clean. Everything has been thought of and provided - we were able to self cater easily. A lovely log fire already to light and lots of firewood. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with a drink enjoying the evening views. There is a good laundry room and staff are so helpful and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend staying here - you are right on the Bow Valley Parkway, just 10 minutes from Johnston and Marble Canyons. Easy drive to either Lake Louise or Banff. The trains weren’t a problem - we enjoyed hearing them whistle. A few woke us at night but the beds are so comfy we just snuggled straight back to sleep. Wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else in the area!

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here! Highly recommend the deluxe one-bedroom cabin (cabin 10 specifically) if you are looking for a romantic getaway for a special occasion! Also loved that Castle Mountain Chalets are literally across the street from the trailhead to several awesome hikes (Rockbound Lake, Castle Mountain, Helena Peak, etc.) Yes there is a loud train that passes regularly, even a few times through the night, but it honestly didn't bother us and really just added to the charm of the place. We celebrated our anniversary here and our expectations were surpassed -- our experience here was so special and memorable and we hope to be back someday!

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin in Banff! It was thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need, from cookware to dishwashing supplies, which made meals easy and stress-free. The location was perfect, the amenities well-maintained, and the views… absolutely breathtaking.||The staff were warm and friendly, which only added to the overall experience. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this property. This trip was more than just a vacation, I came home feeling like I had a spiritual experience. The scenery was so beautiful and serene, it left me truly inspired and grateful.||If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, convenience, and the kind of natural beauty that takes your breath away, this is it.

Castle Mountain Chalets accommodations were the first thing that caught my eye. The log cabins are quaint, cozy, very clean, and comfortable. They are equipped with all the essential amenities and wonderful Rocky Mountain Soap products. We stayed in a one bedroom chalet that also offered a wood burning fireplace and jetted tub. The site is close to an important rail line but, while we heard the trains, they did not bother us. We will be back!

Can’t say enough. Beautiful Cabin!!! Spacious and comfortable coach dining and bed. Spacious bathroom. Kitchen was great. Location was quiet and central to Lake Louise and Banff. Love love this place. Large fireplace that had wood included. Deck was nice as well. We had a pet friendly cabin and brought our two dogs. Plenty of room for all

Yelp
Super spacious cabins in a great location! We loved our stay. The only downside was the skylights that didn't close, and when it's light out till almost midnight, sleep was hard to get. There is also a train that runs non-stop with its horn, so if you're a light sleeper, you've been warned. That all said, we would absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
We loved our stay here. They had a convenient store upfront. It's nested in the perfect location to get to Lake Louise and Moraine lake. It's 5 minutes from Johnston Canyon hike. The kitchen in our chalet/cabin was fully stocked for us to cook. My only complaint would be the train that you can hear running by every so often, so wear ear plugs at night if you're a light sleeper. Aside from that we enjoyed our stay!..

Yelp
Castle Mountain is located approximately half-way between Banff and Lake Louise. While looking nearly impenetrable from the Trans-Canada Highway, the peak can be ascended from the backside on the northeastern slopes. The mountain was named in 1858 by James Hector for its castle-like or fortress appearance. Following the post-war visit of U.S. president Dwight D. Eisenhower, the name was changed to Mount Eisenhower by the then Prime Minister W. L. Mackenzie-King. Eventually, public pressure forced the name to be changed back in 1979 to its original but an isolated pinnacle at the southeastern end is now called Eisenhower Tower. Nearby is the site of a First World War internment camp where unnaturalized Ukrainian immigrants to Canada were confined. Life in the camps was often described as 'grim'; with its isolated location far from the roads of the time, the Castle Mountain camp was an ideal place to confine 'enemy aliens' and 'suspected enemy sympathizers. At Castle Mountain Junction (and at the "bottom" of the hill as I have returned on Highway 93 from Kootenay National Park), you'll find the view and the Castle Mountain Chalets. I have only stopped in the store for groceries, liquor, and gasoline. However, you will also find nicely appointed rustic log cabins, a gift shop, guest BBQs, seasonal rentals (e.g., mountain bikes, snow shoes, etc.), a coin-operated guest laundry, and a Conference Centre. I've been tempted to stay here as I would rather be comfortable in the wilderness, rather in town. And besides this very nicely appointed property, nearby places like the Storm Mountain Lodge or the Baker Creek Chalets are also convenient choices. It's all good. However, with Gayle at my side, we'll probably be at the Banff Springs or the Chateau Lake Louise, as she likes her comfort within the confines of room service civilization.

Yelp
The last time we visited this area we stayed in Banff, which made for a long drive to see all of the Icefields Parkway and Lake Louise. This time around, we wanted to stay somewhat closer to the Lake Louise area but also close to Banff. Castle Mountain Chalets has the perfect location, as it is right inbetween Banff and Lake Louise. We stayed in a Cedar chalet (#11). Very comfortable, clean, and quaint cabin. Although our cabin was closest to the store/registration cabin, we never heard any noise from cars or other cabin dwellers. The store provides a wide assortment of items-- food, alcohol, first aid items, batteries, etc. The only issue I had with Castle Mountain Chalets is it is close to the rail line so you will hear trains going by at night. I didn't mind too much, but it may be an issue for light sleepers. NOTE- be sure to check in before 9 PM. The registration cabin is not manned 24/7.

Yelp
Wow. As soon as we were greeted in the General Store/Reception Area we knew we made the right choice for a Mountain Cabin Rental experience. The choice of Cabin layout suggested during the voice reservation process was ideal. We did the right thing by bringing all of the food requirements for our stay - as we did not want to leave the cabin. The Cabin layout chosen was very spacious and had all the requirements including a wicked wood fireplace that you could view while lying in bed. They've got everything you need in and around the cabin. They General Store has everything you might have forgotten - I mean everything. We've stayed in a few Alberta mountain cabin rentals. This one is our new favourite.

Yelp
Nice but WiFi is non existent. This is a no go for travelers in 2019. Wont stay again.

Yelp
Loved it all! Cute cozy cabins in such a breath-taking location; close to Johnston Canyon, one of the most beautiful, awe inspiring, humbling hikes, ending with the ink pots like natures exclamation point! WoW! Don't forgot those darn endless stars! Then there's the staff! We dealt with Angelina who was a absolute treasure! Not only did she save my butt when I messed up my booking she also mailed my forgotten camera back to me. Being sweet and calm while dealing with all this. Thank you a bunch! Can't wait to go back... Promise I'll be less of a mess :P

Yelp
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! my hubby is very particular. He was really impressed with the place. 2 nights is not enough, if you want a very relaxing time, very tranquil, quiet, homey, cozy....thats your place. the map it shows is wrong though. you have to go through banff, drive thru til bow valley parkway, pass johnston canyon, and when you see a gas pump...you are there! everyone is so friendly, yes there are some little things that need fixing, however the whole experience tramps it. we booked a 1 bedroom deluxe, we got chalet #4...close to the convenience store which is also where you check in. in the middle they got a big cabin building where all the other amenities are, like their house keeping area, computer, game area. the convenience store surprised me, they have variety of things in there. we went there for our mini-honey-moon and he is already talking about going back there for our anniversary. Dogs are allowed in the cabins, we both really appreciate them for allowing our baby in there. also, when it was check-out time, i saw them cleaning other cabins and they have all the works, they got every cleaning supply in the wheel barrow/ golf cart, which i find very professional, because you know that when the next guest's check-in will come into a very clean cabin. if there is room for improvement, maybe the shower head. Some might think the price is expensive, even when I booked it, however at the end of it all, it is worth it. for a mini-holiday, i would say its NOT bad at all $$ wise. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU WANT TO RELAX AND GET AWAY FROM THE CITY.

Yelp
We had a lovely five nights at the Castle Mountain Chalets in August. We stayed in a cedar studio chalet (#13), which was generally clean and comfortable enough for the two of us. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook basic meals, and we appreciated that they provided coffee, tea and dish soap. The wood-burning stove added to the coziness of the cabin on the cooler nights. Other nice amenities included an on-site laundry, gas station and convenience store. The location is ideal: midway between Banff and Lake Louise, making for easy day trips to many of the park's best hikes. (There is also a fun short hike to Silverton Falls just across the road.) I docked one star because the cabin needs some updates/repairs to justify the rates. The mattress was saggy and uncomfortable, the shower drain was slow and the shower faucet leaked. Also, the housekeeping service was limited to making the bed and replacing the towels. That said, it was a great stay, and we would happily return.

Yelp
We have stayed here (with our Dogs) twice. We only used the hot tub this last time. We have stayed in the Pine chalets both times and quite enjoyed them. Access to boarding and xct ski trails is epic. Castle mountain is an amazing back drop. The little store there has anything you may have forgotten, and the little kitchenettes are perfect for cooking in and staying healthy. Plus, you're nowhere near a restaurant there. Never had an issue here, heard a few complaints about management in the hot tub on the last night but we have had a great time always. Would and will definitely go back. Plus, they're one of the only pet friendly joints around. Just double check rates online versus on the phone. They asked us for $265/night for high season when it was actually $165...said something about a website issue but...eerrrrrr...another couple told us the same story.

Yelp
It is absolutely beautiful accommodations better than I anticipated, a must visit. Very clean and well maintained, cozy, yet tasteful. They have a well stocked kitchen, for a family of four. I would definitely return in future and would recommend for a romantic getaway too. The bed and bedding is super comfortable and cozy...

Yelp
Very cozy cabins situated away from the busy touristy parts of Banff National park. The cabins we stayed in where the "Cedar" line, their smaller cabins. They're equipped with a decent, if small, kitchen, which allows you to prepare your own food rather then having to go out for every meal. Our cabins have a cast iron fireplace, and we were provided with plenty of wood and kindling. These, when lit, make the cabins extremely cozy, though I would not recommend it for anyone who has lung problems or sensitives. On the grounds there is a single pump gas station, a basic store, a recreational room and a small hot tub. All of this is kept clean and well maintained. A word a warning, not all cabins are equal. The first time we stayed there we had a lovely view of the forest from our main large windows. The second time we had a view of the parking lot, and our windows were right on the path that every drove past. It forced us to keep our blinds closed pretty much the entire time in order to make sure we had some privacy! When we booked the cabins, we did make a comment asking specifically not to have that view, however, on arrival, we still got it. The site is close to the railroad so you do hear the train on occasion. Personally, I love it and find that I am able to sleep through it, however, some people who are light sleepers may want to bring ear plugs as the train passes around 2-3 am. The trails around the area are fantastic. There's several to choose from of various lengths and the view is lovely. It is about a 15-20 min drive past Banff. All in all, I'd recommend staying here and I fully expect to return.

Yelp
Disappointing for the price. Cabins are quite spacious. Good location. Note, some cabins are duplex with a (locked) connecting door with no sound proofing so you'll hear every word from next door. Luck of the draw if you get quiet or noisy neighbors. They really should let you know when you book if you are in a duplex. Attention to detail was patchy. Lots of small things wrong that detract from the overall experience, examples... cooker wasn't working properly (no one could have checked it, still not fully fixed when we left); 50% of the pots and pans had to be washed again as they weren't clean; storm door broken meaning the front door always had to be closed or the wildlife came visiting - maintenance guy wouldn't do a temp fix, said he had to wait for parts; cold air return grills not fastened, just pushed against the vents so anything could get in, or out!! Old mousetrap with food on it, but not set left behind bin; new linen left on cart outside chalet whilst the cleaning staff went into the chalet, the ground squirrels were in amoungst them in seconds (Yuk!); chalet across from ours has squirrels living in the roof space as the netting hadn't been maintained; draining board drains onto the floor, not into the sink etc All these are small things but for the price they shouldn't be occurring, which kinda makes this place a last resort as the local competition (Baker Creek) is vastly superior.
