We got a walking ticket after 15:00 which only cost 1500 HUF/3,75 EUR. Everything is closed by then but it gives you a great vantage point to view Eger from above. Great castle that looks well-maintained and had several information point in both Hungarian and English.

Don’t make your visit to Eger about the castle, you may be disappointed…. However, the views of the town from the castle is quite nice. I came here to get some drone videos and photos, and the rest of the town is quite charming & beautiful from above. (Just not the castle itself)

Very impressive place with very interesting history. Absolutely a must for visitors of Eger. From here you have a wonderful view of the City of Eger. I recommend also a walk in the late evening. With the beautiful illuminated areas in the castle and the buildings in the city its quite an exciting little trip.

We went in September, so off season. It was quiet. There is plenty to see in the castle, lots of exhibits with the entry fee, some were extra like the VR battle and waxworks display. You can easily spend 2-3 hours here. Great views of Eger.

Tha castle is not bad, but not good at all. I think that 16 euros is way too expensive for that. And it's not included all museums/expositions. In a small exhibition that I've been to, the information was only in Hungarian language. It's not that easy to find spots for nice pictures and some workers are really impolite. I think that for the half of the price it would be OK, with all exhibitions included, but for that price, there are way more interesting things to know in Hungary.

Lovely views of the city, especially at sunset. The price (around $6 USD) seems a bit high. Regardless, it's a really cool castle.

I strongly recommend to read about events that took place here in 1552

Huge ruins and remainings of the castle offering nice views of the charming city of Eger. But we came in the afternoon The tickets turned out to be much cheaper after 17:00. Unfortunately when we tried to enter one of the exhibitions at 17:45, the young guy refused saying that it’s already closed (regardless of the fact that visit would take me 5-10 minutes and that the exhibition’s closing time was 18:00). Besides the offer is very poor- some VR game or a movie projection were available for additional payment. I’m giving 4 because I like Eger in general.
