One of the highlights of our trip was breakfasts at Castle Valley Inn. You eat outside on the patio, surrounded by nature, including hummingbirds, wild turkeys and mule deer. It's so beautiful. The breakfast food was delicious. We stayed in the Anasazi Cabin which was very comfortable with plenty of space and a nice shower. The bed was comfortable. Scott, the host, was very nice and available by text. He showed us the cabin the first day. It was nice staying somewhere secluded and quiet a bit away from downtown Moab.

Perfect place for peace and a relaxing environment. The host was great. Breakfast was amazing. He even went out of his way to make us breakfast to go after a long week of hiking. The grass and shaded trees makes it a cool place to hang out from the heat. We enjoyed a picnic in the yard under the night stars. We would stay again.

Google
Such a lovely stay at the Castle Valley Inn B&B. My partner and I stayed here while visiting Moab on our road trip and loved our stay. The scenery is undoubtedly beautiful, especially the night sky (it's a no lights community, so the stars are extra bright!). Laying in the hammocks on the property and watching the stars is pretty unbeatable. The bedroom was very comfortable and breakfast was pretty tasty. It was also fun to see so many deer and turkey, also heard it is a great spot for birdwatching but we didn't see that many since spring had only just begun. Would definitely stay here again whenever we come back to Moab.

Really loved this place! It is a bit of a drive (~20 min) from Moab but it is so secluded and nice if that's what you are going for. It was so quiet and peaceful, we got a beautiful view of the stars at night and woke up to a bunch of wild turkey's around the cabin. Scott was an amazing host and communicated to us about our stay and food options.

Google
Perfect place to stay in Moab! Quiet, beautiful, private, amazing views, complementary breakfast, and dog friendly 🐶 we stayed in the Anasazi Cabin and it was amazing - AC, kitchenette with everything you need, big bathroom, TV, bunk bed, king bed, pull-out sofa, and private patio with grill. If you want to stay away from the crowds this is the perfect place! The owners were so kind, welcoming, and communicative right after booking. Last but not least, the breakfast is absolutely delicious!

This is an Oasis in the middle of a desert , the rooms are ample and clean,, . the location is perfect, quiet and peaceful... the hosts are more than friendly, likable and of course , hospitable. Breakfast is a treat, the coffee is great, as are the portions.||the strip in Moab is less than wonderful, built without a plan, so this choice is perfect.|the rooms have fridges, cooking facilities, and grills... so you can relax with a drink or cook what you wish. there are 2 restaurants nearby,, the River Grill is pricey but worth the visit , we didn't try the Cowboy Grill which is also nearby.||After a day of hiking, or touring, the serenity here is a treat.|If you need to go to town or the Arches, the drive is about 20 minutes, on the other hand, there is plenty of hiking near the B&B without going to town, ||I should add, turkeys, a peacock or two and dear roam freely,, also a treat. ||Lastly, i would only stay here if and when i get back to Moab.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was a fantastic place to stay. I loved the wildlife we were able to see such as deer and turkeys. The breakfast was home made and great tasting. The hosts were very accommodating and wanted to help in any way they could. The drive to Moab from here is about 25 minutes but you drive along side of the green river and very little traffic. Stay with them while visiting Moab you won't regret it.

Google
Me and my mum had a wonderful few nights here. Owners were lovely and made us feel very comfortable. Homemade breakfast was such a treat. The location is beautiful! It is a bit of a drive from Moab but the drive itself is stunning. Rooms were decorated beautifully and we felt so relaxed. We would stay here again!

Yelp
What an experience! Beautiful scenery, very friendly and accommodating hosts, very clean, great food! The grounds are beautiful, hammocks, outdoor chairs, you could see wildlife such as turkeys and deer. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
This place was cute and nice... Small... so don't expect alot of room if you have a 2 bedroom 2 bath. The breakfast even though shared in a takeout container was yummy. Warm scones, and an egg casserole. Due to covid.. you make your own call fee in your own room.. and take it to breakfast outside. They may want to put info out as to when is the best time to hike to avoid a mountain lion attack... as a local explained to me that I was out too early.. and perfect meat for the lions!!!.. And also information on any hiking trails.

Yelp
It's Oh My Gosh stunning here! For starters, our welcome committee was a sweet black cat. We sadly did not get to meet the owners of this beautiful establishment, but we did get to meet this kitty and he was so friendly and attentive. We had arrived rather late in the evening, but it was still an amazing night. The inn is nestled in the canyons very near Arches National Park. In other words, it's quiet and dark. We sat out on the porch eating our dinner, enjoying the sights (the stars), the sounds (nature and the local river), and smells. It was just lovely. Our accommodations were clean and adorable. There is a kitchenette, which comes in handy if you would rather cook instead of eat out. The room and bed were extremely comfortable. We stayed in the house that had at least one other room, though we suspected another below us (which was really our only complaint, because we could actually hear a couple talking late into the night and extremely early in the morning, though it is not the fault of the inn). In the day time, the property is amazing. As I said the inn is tucked into the canyon, but the property is well cared for with lush green grass and beautifully pruned trees all with an amazing red back drop of the surrounding canyon. I so look forward to coming back. I would live here if I could. It was truly a stellar experience!

Yelp
This place is worth it just for the drive alone. It is simply stunning. Our cabin was adorable, clean and well stocked. This is, simply put, a great place to stay. I would go back again and again.

Yelp
My husband Keith and I just finished a 5 night stay at the Castle Valley Inn. We towed an off road vehicle from California to off road in Moab and we were worried about being parked in Moab, so that's how we ended up staying at the Castle Valley Inn which was about 15 miles outside of town. The owners Scott and Jennifer are very accommodating. We contacted them ahead of time to make sure they would be able to accommodate our trailer and razor. We stayed in the Wingate room which had everything that we needed. They have a signup sheet for breakfast either at 7:45 am or 8:45 am each morning which is served in a quaint little room that seats 12. They also offer to deliver your breakfast to your room if you would prefer. If you are leaving before the first breakfast time slot they also offer breakfast burritos that they will deliver to your room the night before and you can just warm up in the microwave when leaving. The breakfast each morning was delicious and fresh! Our room also had a Keurig coffee maker and a small refrigerator. We also loved having their dog Louie run up to get petted each day. It made missing our own dog Max not so bad. I would highly recommend staying at the Castle Valley Inn. We hope to come back again someday. Scott and Jennifer, Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Yelp
Escape the buzz in Moab! Stay 20 minutes away in this quiet hide a way of a valley circled by cliffs. Rooms are big enough, light enough; great beds, warm enough. And did I say quiet? We'll be back again in the off season for sure. plenty to do and see in the immediate area. Our room had a refridge, stove, microwave; great space to relax in. Wish there was a way to bring our pup though...

Yelp
We stayed here for the 3rd time in the last 10 years. We love the property, the location and our accommodations in the Anasazi Cabin. It's probably a 30 minute drive from Moab but the scenery (through the canyons along the Colorado River) is breathtaking. Great breakfast on the deck in the morning. Super peaceful and relaxing! Highly recommended.

Yelp
An absolutely wonderful place to stay. The owner Scott was so nice about adjusting our dates of stay and each employee we interacted with was equally lovely. A picturesque location nestled in a valley, and a short, scenic drive along the Colorado river to tourist and nature stops. The grounds have apple trees- which we got to watch the resident deer and her fawn snack on right outside our cabin window. The rooms are extremely clean, well decorated, and so comfortable. It was the best sleep I've gotten in a long time! There is fresh homemade breakfast on the patio with the other guests each morning. You can interact as much or as little as you want with others, and Scott has some great suggestions for things to do, and let us know we could call if we had any problems while out and about. This is a rare gem and I hope to go back someday. A true respite from reality.

Yelp
Top notch all the way across the board! From the fantastic breakfast to the amazing hospitality...this stay was phenomenal! Will highly recommend this place to all! We chilled in the Anasazi Cabin. Then enjoyed the hot tub, which when imbibing in sweet CBD edibles...it's just what the Doctor didn't order but would probably give a nod!

Yelp
Awesome hosts and amazing views very close to the Colorado River and a winery. They made us feel at home, provided local recommendations, and served great breakfast every morning. We borrowed DVDs in the evening (blockbuster style - but free), enjoyed the hot tub on a chilly evening, and counted 6 deer in the orchard on our last night as the sun was going down.

Yelp
Such a beautiful place and stay! We drove in at night and wow it was such a pleasant experiance. The room we stayed in was in the main Cabin. The room was very clean and fresh smelling. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. The stars out at night made the stay extra special. Even made a new friend, Amber the outdoor cat that chills around there. She laid out with us under the stars it was very cool. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of storage space in the room if needed. Already have recommended the spot to friends planning a trip to Utah.

Yelp
What a beautiful property!! Our room, the Entrada Room, had a beautiful view of the mountains, not to mention the turkeys, birds, deer and mama and baby bear. As an added bonus, we were able to get our daily cat "fix" petting Amber, the inn cat. Our room was very comfortable, the bed was excellent as well as the ensuite bath. Scott, the new owner, made a delicious hot breakfast each morning and it was delivered to our door, at 8am daily. We especially enjoyed the parlor each evening. It was a great place to relax and watch a little bit of tv. Even though the drive from Moab is a bit long, you can't beat the scenery. It was so beautiful that we forgot the time. If we ever return to the Moab area, we will definitely stay at Castle Valley B&B.

Yelp
Our stay here was so lovely. This place is nestled in Castle Valley, a tiny town with incredible rock formations surrounding it. The hosts were friendly and helpful. You can stargaze in the backyard and see tons of stars. During Covid, they're delivering boxed breakfasts and both days the food was great. We booked at the last second and we are so glad we did. Be prepared for hour-long (but incredibly scenic!) drives to Arches and Canyonlands.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about the Castle Valley Inn! Scott was above and beyond helpful from day one when I called trying to plan a last-minute elopement with my family. Scott helped us pick the right accommodations for our group of ten, and when we showed up, we were blown away. Check-in was simple and easy, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and breakfast was spectacular. The Inn's location is stunning, with a great lawn, dark skies, and wonderful views of Castle Valley. We felt totally at home there thanks to Scott's careful touches. He made our entire weekend so easy, and we would highly recommend the Castle Valley Inn for any vacation or special occasion. Thank you, Scott!

Yelp
What an amazing experience!!! Truly a hidden gem and without the help of Yelp, we would have never found this incredible b&b. It's a little off the beaten path and about 20 miles from downtown Moab but absolutely worth it. There is no cell phone service and the free wifi is hard to get unless you are on the main property but hey, that's kind of the beauty of it. It's nice to be off the grid surrounded by beautiful landscape. The innkeepers were wonderful- accommodating, friendly and when you sit down for breakfast, you will truly feel at home. Ps- the omelet recipe is online!! The hot tub is great for relaxing under the most incredible night sky I've seen in a long time. Apparently, Moab is home to some of the darkest skies in the country which means that there are TONS of stars. We literally saw 5 shooting stars in less than an hour. It was absolutely magical. If hot tubs aren't your thing, check the sky out from the hammocks. Not sure when or if we will get the chance to revisit Moab, but if we do there won't be a question of where to stay. It's that amazing.

Yelp
Loved this place, like a magic oasis in the middle of amazing geology. We stayed in Hovenweep suite, striking views back onto the rocks for great sunset. Had a good kitchen set up in the room and our own grill which we used both nights, prompting a visit from Amber the cat. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, quiet nights. Jason was a great host, breakfast was delicious, truly homemade and special, they even warmed the coffee cups! The proprietors pay attention to details, you can tell in every piece of the property and experience. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Stayed at the Castle Valley Inn last summer during a part of a road trip. Paying a little more to stay here rather than right in Moab was one of the best decisions made during the trip. Jeanette & Jason were extremely accommodating, the property was lovely, the setting beautiful with little to no light pollution, the room was great, and the breakfast was AMAZING. If we could have we would have extended our trip and stayed there an additional night. I recommend this place to everyone that I hear is making a trip through the area. Edit: Years later this location is still the benchmark for the best place we've stayed.

Yelp
This was a magical place for our family to stay, while we explored Moab and Arches National Park. Our bungalow was beautifully appointed. Bed was incredibly comfortable, the kitchenette had everything we needed, and the bathroom was clean-as-home. Our teenager was excited to have so many TV streaming options too. The views were truly breathtaking - just as gorgeous as inside the national park. We all enjoyed the orchards, hammocks, and wildlife viewing. It was great that they offered the breakfast-to-go since we were up early to hike and beat the heat. Our family hopes to come back again to this very special place.

Yelp
PROS: If you're looking for serenity and isolation, then this is the place. It's about 35 minutes outside Moab down a gorgeous scenic drive and has access to some alternative hiking areas that are not inside the crowded National Parks. We really enjoyed the suggestion from our inn keeper to do Granstaff Canyon hike, which was our favorite trail, ever. Breakfast was delicious and homemade. We had a baked omelette our first morning, and whole wheat pancakes with spiced apples the second morning. The inn was flexible with our arrival time. We enjoyed the baked goods at night and the DVD collection for our catching up on classics/ movie watching in our room at night! CONS: Our room was not as nice as expected for the value. We had the last available room (Entrada), which was very small with an aging mattress. A bathtub was advertised, but a grown person would have a lot of trouble fitting into it, so we didn't use it. A few amenities were missing, like hand soap. We used two glasses from the common room the first night, put them into the dirty dish tray, and returned the next day to find no new glasses so re-used our old ones. Minor details sure, but it all adds up. The place was at full capacity during our stay, so the hot tub was never available, and the staff was a little stressed, which probably contributed to certain things being overlooked. We love Moab and we love the area, and we'd be happy to come back another time when the place is not at full capacity and new employees are not training.

Yelp
I would literally pay double the rate to stay here! The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and the service was top notch! The location was perfect for hiking or going into Moab...which is an awesome little town! Sit in the hot tub at night and you will be nestled under a blanket of a billion stars. You HAVE to stay here!

Lindsay R.

Yelp
My husband and I cannot recommend this stay enough! Scott was so hospitable and attentive to detail when making guests feel comfortable amidst the pandemic. Breakfast was absolutely delicious (best banana bread I've ever had) and there was no shortage of hot tea and coffee for before and after a long day of hiking. Castle Valley Inn truly felt like a home away from home and we could not be more grateful for the serenity it provided!

Yelp
We got the cheapest room (Chinle), and stayed for 4 nights. The breakfasts were delicious, and varied. The owners are informative, attentive, and very kind folks. If you're considering the Castle Valley Inn, then you're probably also considering the Red Cliffs Lodge. If you're dragging a family around, then maybe that's the place for you. It was just my fiancee and I, so the Castle Valley Inn was a better choice. Overall, we received a quiet time, excellent food, and an intimate atmosphere. I know I should have some criticisms, but really, I don't. It was a great place to escape during our time in Moab. Oh, and they have free wifi :D
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip. Even the drive to get here was spectacular as you drive all a canyon with red cliffs on either side and next to the Colorado river. We ate at a great place nearby with views of the river (Red Cliffs Lodge). It would have been too pricey to actually stay there and in any case Castle Valley Inn was far more intimate and less touristy. My husband loved the hot tub out in the garden. It has lights at night and it was beautiful sitting there in the moonlight. Breakfast was also outside and it is so beautiful. They have a number of acres and we saw a deer. We had freshly made crepes which were delicious. And the owners were very helpful. This was a wonderful place to stay and we hope to come back someday.

Yelp
I stayed here for 2 nights with sis. We were visiting Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. I booked this place without realizing that it is about half an hour from town, and almost regretted it. But upon arriving, I immediately loved the character and the location. It is in the quiet town of Castle Valley, surrounded by rocks and nature. The owners Jeannette and Jason were friendly. Their breakfast of pancakes, sausages and fruit (first morning), and baked omelette and ginger cake (next morning) was yummy. The room, Wingate, was clean. I had a good stay. It was out of the way, but the drive was beautiful.

Yelp
Perfect Experience, no stress, not a thing to not like. CVI has changed ownership over the years so current fabulous Innkeepers Jason & Jeanette Graham have owned it the last nine years. I will post additional shots from the hot tub best view of Castle Valley. I have been coming to Moab since 1966 as a professional photographer. Goblin Valley, Little Wildhorse canyon etc. My two absolute top choices are Castle Valley Inn and Boulder Mountain Ranch. CVI offers only breakfast menu, but it is wonderful. We were able to stay only four nights. Every morning the menu was different and always seemed like the Culinary Institute (Hyde Park) could say this is how a simple, healthy, educated palette should start the day. The baked Fritata (steak omelette) stayed hot in it's own baking dish the salsa was wonderful spiced exactly as a mature taste would like. It is small overall, but with a common sitting room filled with the best literature of Southern-Central Utah writers (Stegner,Terry Tempest Williams) and various photographic journals on Diné -Navaho culture and life. I will leave any mention of the landscapes of this part of Utah where the Green River joins the Colorado for others or assume you know. (It would be like tell you that Paris, San Francisco and New York are "Fine Towns". One cannot compare San Francisco to New York. I feel in a similar fashion one cannot compare the location, or the way you are treated at Castle Valley Inn to anything else in the MOAB area, there IS different, BUT NOT BETTER. Small intimate and warm, Castle Valley Inn is what Western Camp David would be like. I could joke about Bush in Crawford Texas or Dick Cheney's place in Wilson Wyoming, but who needs that!

Yelp
Soooo beautiful! The Castle Valley Inn is amazing! I have stayed there on 4 separate occasions. Each time was fantastic. The breakfasts are delicious and filling; the rooms are comfortable, cozy and well decorated; the innkeepers, Jim and Mary, treat you like family and are genuinely friendly and helpful; and the wildlife is abundant. Deer, turkeys, birds, etc. The rooms all have televisions with DVD/VCR and they have a good selection of movies you can borrow at no charge. I cannot give enough praise to this gem in the beautiful crown that is southeastern Utah.

Yelp
Everything a B&B should be. Incredibly comfy rooms and beds. Location is beautiful. Hammocks are wonderful. Jeanette and Jason are gracious hosts and serve a wonderful breakfast. Very close to Moab and Arches. My family will absolutely stay here again.

Nick V.

Yelp
This place is the best place to stay in Moab. The hosts couldn't be more warm and hospitable. Homey, western-style b&b, isolated location with astounding views, yummy food, and a sweet kitty.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful place way off the beaten path in the little town of Castle Valley - not Moab! We didn't realize how far it was till we started driving there. But once we got there we were so happy to be in such a secluded intimate setting. Orchards on the property sure fresh peaches and apples. Lovely room on the top floor (Fremont suite) with a nice kitchenette and bathroom. The main house has a TV with free movies and a sitting room. The staff were welcoming and we got to the eat breakfast our on the patio with the birds flying around. It was magical.

Rachael H.

Yelp
truly fantastic! the service, the room, the people. I stayed at Castle Valley Inn this past November, and it was so beautiful! very quiet, as it was off season, but we caught some good weather that allowed us to hike the area pretty well. we were the only guests at the Inn over the 5 days we were there. Michele, the manager, was fantastic! She suggested many great hikes, and was very knowledgeable on the area. she even let us borrow her personal guide books. we stayed in the Cabin, and it was really quiet and beautiful, a big change from living in the city. The scenery surrounding the Inn is breathtaking. Worth it to stay just for the views. I would love to go back to Castle Valley, and strongly recommend considering a stay here if you're visiting the Moab area.

Yelp
This perfectly nestled Inn recently changed hands and I'm pleased to say it was for the better. Wonderful food, great views.

Yelp
Went to CVI in January 2013 and had an excellent experience. My girlfriend and I stayed two nights. We had reserved the cheapest (Chinle) room, but Jason and Jeanette upgraded us to Fremont since nobody else was staying. How nice of them! Room: Bed was very comfy, room was (overly) spacious, kitchen was moderately well-stocked, bathroom was comfortable, privacy was good. Staff: Jason and Jeanette were maximally friendly and accommodating. Both made us excellent breakfasts and were very accessible and helpful throughout our stay. Not to chose favorites, but Jeanette's baking is top-notch -- request her scones! Their son is freaking adorable. Location: Castle Valley is a solid 20+ minute drive from Moab/Arches, which could be a downside, but the portion of Rt 123 where Castle Valley is is absolutely beautiful and has really nice hiking, scenery, and wildlife (we saw bald eagles and big-horn sheep). Summary: For the price, this place is absolutely a 10/10, A++. Stay there!

K M.

Yelp
This B and B is WONDERFUL! Very clean and comfortable. We were up and out before breakfast was served, but the hosts packed us a hearty to-go breakfast. The location is spectacular. It is about 40 mins outside of downtown Moab, but the scenic drive along the Colorado River passes the time quickly. Would absolutely stay here again.

Eric H.

Yelp
A nice location in a beautifully secluded setting. My wife and I stayed here for two nights and truly enjoyed the overall experience. The inn keepers were friendly enough, although somewhat aloof, as they tended to favor other guests more. We were given advice on what to see and experience in the surrounding area, which was appreciated, and we were told of all that the inn had to offer.

George M.

Yelp
A setting which can not be any better! Owner and manager wonderful host and hostess; genuine friendly and helpful people. Excellent rooms, amenities, and the best breakfast available anywhere - well prepared and presented with convenient dining times. The views are outstanding! We will return, and soon.

Matt T.

Yelp
Other reviewers are right, Jason and Co. are great, personable, insightful and sensitive, doing a great job with this place. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel at home, right down to their coal-black putty-tat, Amber. Perfect place to stay in one of the most perfect western valleys you'll ever see. Don't neglect Manti-La Sal Loop if you're driving toward Moab or farther south, it's great and provides awesome views of Castle Valley, (where they are, not in Moab, several miles away, as the mailing address has it.)
