Stayed the one night as I arrived on the flight from Glasgow that lands on the beach and returned the next day. You can also arrive by ferry which docks 5 minutes from the hotel. It is a passenger and car ferry from Oban.Nice room with a view out over the harbour and bay. Food and atmosphere good. The bar next door is where the locals meet and it also has live music on certain days.

A very good hotel near the port. A very warm welcome on arrival. The room was large with a comfortable double bed and a single if needed. There was plenty of storage. The room had tv , wifi and tea and coffee making facilities. It had a large bathroom, modern and clean, with a bath and shower. My one negative comment would be that the bath was very deep and had no hand rail therefore making it a little difficult to use ,if you have any mobility problems. We ate in the restaurant which was a very pleasant. The food was home cooked and excellent. We were served by two young, friendly and attentive young people. They were a credit to the hotel.

Good food and service, very, very welcoming place.|Scallop starter is generous and delicious, and the belly pork was excellent.|Steak and ale pie was a proper pie, with shortcrust pasty all round it, not a silly pot with a piece of stupid puff pastry on top.|Getting staff on an island as small as Barra is tricky, so many of the staff are teenagers, learning the job. This brings with it the odd small mistake, but all the staff were so engaging and cheerful, it was easy to forgive. Nothing was too much trouble.|Wine is excellent value and the music is great.|The dining room itself is a bit unprepossessing but the view of the castle and harbour is amazing.

Only came here for food instead due to our other hotel being inadequate in that department. Excellent food that I could not recommend enough! Dinner and breakfast can’t be missed! Extra friendly staff. Will definitely be staying here on my next visit! Also have a great little pub next door!

Lovely hotel. Great views. Comfortable beds which is extremely important. Cosy lounge and sun room. The staff were very helpful. Loved that the local teenagers were working and doing a superb job. Very comfortable beds and great food. The only hotel in Barra doing lunch. So healthy and great to have that option as I could only find cakes to eat everywhere else. The young proprietor is highly talented. Your food will be served on pottery she has made herself. Her art adorns the walls as does her sisters. Now if you are just wanting a Guiness and pie go no further than next door and enjoy these looking out on the bay. Talking about food the dinner menu offers wonderful seafood that is cooked to perfection. Try the langoustine ravioli. You won't be disappointed. Thoroughly recommend this tasteful hotel and it's lovely staff

Lovely stay. Delightful staff. Really good to see the young people of Barra serving and doing a great job. The food was excellent too. Lovely local seafood which I indulged in as often as I could. The only hotel on Barra that does a lunch It is very healthy option from the many cakes offered all over the island. The propriety is very versatile. She is very present at the hotel turning her hand to anything. Nothing is a bother. Your meals are served on her own hand crafted pottery. If you look carefully you'll discover that she is an artist. Her sister has also painted the many beautiful abstracts that adorn the walls. There is also a bar at the hotel so if you are needing a pint of guiness and a pie to sit and enjoy the view you don't have far to go. Thoroughly recommend this hotel

We had a standard room and it was ... standard. Other rooms may have been more inviting. The view, however was absolutely magnificent and the location unbeatable.|As vegetarians we found the dinners very good. The breakfasts were also fine. |Breakfast begins at 7.30 - a bit later than we are used to at the hotels we've stayed at so far - and no allowance will be made for accidental early arrivals!

A sweet hotel with such beautiful personal touches - loved the hand made mugs and dish’s used in the restaurant and interesting artwork on display. Stunning sea view from the bedroom I was in, had crisp sheets and as a light sleeper, the room was comfortable. Good location if you need easy access to the ferry and short distance (bike ride) to lovely spots on the island. Being unfamiliar with the island, the owners gave me lots of helpful tips about things to see and do. Highly recommend.
