We arrived in the pouring rain to the perfect respite. The rooms are beautiful with spectacular views of the ocean. Every little detail was thought through. Helen and Brian, the owners, were extremely helpful, (and great fun), rearranging our tour due to the weather, suggesting incredibly good restaurants in town, finding good music, etc. Brian's breakfast is amazing - a table of fresh fruit, cereals, pasteries, etc, as well as a full breakfast menu. It came with the room and was absolutely delicious. I can't recommend Castlewood House more highly. it was our trip's highlight!

My husband and I absolutely loved staying at Castlewood House! Helen and Brian were great hosts and very helpful with suggestions about Dingle. We had car trouble and Helen made sure we were able to get what we needed. Walking in after spending the day exploring smelled like the best kind of aroma therapy. The breakfasts were amazing!!

Helen and Brian have clearly worked tirelessly over the years to provide an exceptional, luxurious and perfect location for a relaxing stay in an area of outstanding beauty: Dingle. |The welcome from Brian was excellent and he kindly showed us all the best eating establishments. Nothing was too much trouble.||Helen advised us on the best walking and driving routes from Dingle. We enjoyed some great hikes from their door.||The room was immaculately clean and well set out. Silence was key at night, no door slamming or shower pumps to wake you at night!||The whole building was warm, safe and comfortable. There were eclectic art choices adorning every wall, scones and tea available every afternoon - we were spoiled rotten.|Is there any need to write about Brian’s labour of love: his breakfasts!!! |Superb choice of poached fruits, the cooked menu range was endless and waiting staff attentive and generous with fresh beverages topped up without us even asking !||The best place to stay in Dingle.

Dingle was one of our favourite stops on our three-week driving tour of Ireland and that is partly due to our very enjoyable three-night stay at Castlewood House. The boutique hotel is perfection throughout and deserves every accolade it has received over the years. Our hosts, Brian and Helen, warmly welcomed us (the mimosas were greatly appreciated!) and were helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Our large room—with a stunning view of Dingle Bay and Carhoo Hill—was modern, immaculate and very comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding, served by the hotel’s professional and friendly staff in a beautiful, airy breakfast room and featuring a plentiful buffet and an excellent a-la-carte selection. Of all the ‘full Irish’ breakfasts we had during our travels in Ireland, Castlewood House served the very best. As an added nice touch, during the day tea, coffee and homemade cakes and scones were available in the elegant drawing room on the ground floor. Thanks to useful tips from our hosts, we also enjoyed an Irish folk music concert in town and an archaeological tour of the Dingle Peninsula. We will forever have warm memories of charming Dingle and beautiful Castlewood House.

Most warmest welcome upon checking in. Brian and Helen forthright with all kinds of dining and sightseeing suggestions. The rooms are beautiful and I enjoyed the jet stream tub after a long day of hiking. Not too long of a walk to all the towns pubs and shops and right across from the Dingle Distillery. Breakfast was beyond excellent! Definitely would stay here again! Friendly and coziest atmosphere. Especially tea time with fresh scones!

Google
Dingle hospitality at its best. The Castlewood House will certainly be the "Promised Land" when you get there as you will have "Glory Days" for sure! Great hosts with a "Human Touch" will lead you to the best to see and do. If you're lucky you might even see some "Wester Stars" on the amazing Dingle peninsula. Thank You Helen and Brian!

We stayed one night, in room 11. Honestly this was the most comfortable stay on our entire trip. The bed was amazing. I'm not sure why, maybe it's a European thing, but none of the other hotels we stayed in had a separate sheet on the bed. They were all just a comforter and nothing else. This bed at Castlewood House did have a sheet, so of course it's my favorite spot because I'm a hot sleeper. Breakfast was also incredible, tons of options and very attentive staff. Brian was also nice enough to let us park in the lot while we did some kayaking in the harbor, which was extremely helpful because the lot at the marina was insanely packed.

Our hosts were great, giving recommendations for restaurants and music in Dingle, places to see on the Slea Head Drive, and being pleasant and helpful with anything we asked. |Our room was very comfortable and pleasant with great views. The breakfasts were delicious and served with flair in a delightful space.

Yelp
Perfect!! It's an overused word, but it fits for our stay at the Castlewood House. The food was perfect, the rooms were nicely decorated and clean and the staff were friendly. I don't know how they could have improved on our experience. Sad to leave. Would give them a 10 if I could.

Yelp
Castlewood House was fantastic, I wish we stayed more than one night. The B&B was easy to find and the parking lot was large. You are directly across from the water and the change it tides here made the waterline fascinating to watch. Stepping into the place you immediately had a nice smelling, clean, welcoming and friendly experience. Brian was a great host and gave us a delicious welcome drink. Our room was large with a nice view of the water. The bathroom was clean and modern and the bed comfortable. Castlewood House is only a 15 minute or so walk to downtown. We enjoyed the snacks, coffee, and tea available downstairs but the best thing here was the breakfast. Brian was an excellent cook and the breakfast here was easily the best on our entire trip.

Yelp
Beautifully appointed. Very welcoming. Host (Brian) was excellent to share places to go in the area and marked on the map with a little information on each. Extremely comfortable. Breakfast was possibly the best I've ever had. Would love to stay longer. We stayed days at The Shelbourne in Dublin, this far exceeded that experience at a fraction of the cost. Town is charming and welcoming as well. Great Pub and restaurant choices. Top notch all the way around. When back to Ireland, this will be a first pick.

Yelp
On a 12 day Irish vacation this was the premier location. Beautiful, well furnished rooms with views of the water. Marvelous friendly and helpful. We had conversation not just directions and advice. The breakfast was wow wow hella wow wonderful. The cold buffet would have been enough but the owner, Brian, cooked up great made to order meals. Needed more days to eat them all!!

Yelp
It is obvious the owners are experienced hotel managers as every detail is attended to with meticulous care. The only resemblance to a B&B is that it is in a house, and you are served breakfast, but it puts every other B&B and most hotels to shame. The entire place is spotless and we enjoyed a great view of the bay. But the best surprise the next morning is the cooked to order breakfast that is out of this world. Beyond the breakfast there are more breads, juices, yogurt, cereal, fruits, granola, meats and more that ensure this to be a memorable breakfast, tailored to your specific taste. My only regrets are spending just one night here, and booking it with three other hotels left in the trip. Their standards were so high that the final three nights in other hotels could not hold a candle to the Castlewood. There is a reason the've won so many awards. If you are in the area and do not stay here...you've missed an outstanding travel opportunity.

Yelp
A beautiful location and great rooms! The owners are incredibly friendly and willing to help you navigate Dingle (we arrived late the first night and they made calls to their favorite restaurants for us- we ended up at Out of the Blue, an amazing dinner spot I also recommend). Don't hesitate on this one, this place is a gem!

Yelp
Such a great place to stay. Been in Ireland week now and this has been one of our favorites. Amazing location just outside of town but close enough to walk in to eat or see the sites and shop. Also, breakfast was probably the best I've has in Ireland yet. Wish we could stay longer.

Yelp
I've traveled to many places and have stayed in some of the most amazing hotels but they have nothing on Castlewood House. The home is stunning. The rooms are luxurious and spacious. Our bathroom was large and had all the makings of a 4 - star top of the line hotel. The linens were clean and crisp and the bed and bath were spotless. Make sure you do not leave in the morning before the breakfast buffet. There are all different types of jams, breads and oatmeals. You can choose a hot meal from the menu. My boyfriend had the traditional Irish breakfast and he loved it. The portions were just enough. I had the pancakes that were to die for. Before we headed out we sat with one of the owners and he explained the Dingle Peninsula to us. He took the time to sit and chat. I even purchased one of the hand paintings that they had on display. My boyfriend and I were in Dingle for only one night but we plan on visiting again and when we do we will be staying at Castlewood again. Location: walking distance into town. And I highly suggest taking a ride around the Dingle Peninsula. Some of the most gorgeous scenery in Ireland.

Yelp
This was perhaps the most outstanding of our lodging experiences in Ireland during our 3-week, self-designed driving tour here. The hosts went above and beyond in terms of caring for our comfort. We arrived a bit early and our room was not quite ready; we were seated in the living room and asked if we would like a mimosa. The mimosas were made with very fresh-squeezed orange juice. The two-story structure came complete with an elevator, so wimpy me did not have to huff and puff up a set of stairs with heavy bags. The breakfasts were awesome; the presentation, the freshness, the taste = perfection. It's easy to pull in and out of their private parking lot. The town of Dingle itself is a two or three block walk. Out of the Blue was an excellent restaurant. This is a good place from which to plan nearby excursions to the Aran Islands, Ring of Kerry, and Killarney. (I highly recommend Killarney Falconry to experience birds of prey up close.) The Irish music concert at St. James Church in Dingle was a fun way to spend the evening. You can't go wrong at this B&B/small hotel.

Yelp
Outstanding! Brian was so accommodating and welcoming. The Castlewood House is gorgeous and it feels like you're staying with family. Its intimate setting was elegant, quaint, and luxurious. We can't wait to go back!
