The Casual Colours Barcelona is not recommended for business travelers. My experience was very sobering, especially as the room rates are far too high for what is on offer. The first room I was booked into was no bigger than a storeroom and had no window, the second was offered to me on a floor where the corridor was being painted while guests were staying and there was an intense smell of paint in the rooms. The third room finally had a window, but it faced the courtyard. This was nothing more than a deep and very narrow chasm between the wall of the hotel and the building behind it. Despite the window being closed, it was impossible to sleep as every noise was amplified. Eventually I got a room on the street side and only had to put up with the street noise. Unfortunately, you can also hear every noise from the neighboring rooms and the hallway. The rooms are getting on in years and the cheap workmanship and materials (laminate, pressed wood, sockets that almost come out of the wall,...) result in a desolate condition. In conclusion, the questionable design is the easiest thing to ignore. The staff stoically accepted my requests for changes and complied with them, but I never experienced anyone as extremely friendly. This hotel is at best suitable for backpackers and party vacationers who don't place any particular value on comfort. However, the prices are not reasonable.
