Cat Ba Eco Lodge

Interesting place. Old traditional style two storey houses with rooms, and then small individual bungalows on a hillside overlooking a small lake/water source. Back packer style and standard, and whilst poorly maintained, clean and tidy. The staff however were awesome! Very friendly, accommodating, happy to please, and nothing was too much. The food was nice, and the resident pet dogs entertaining! It was tucked away, 1km into the hillside from the main road running along the coast. Nothing within walking distance to explore. But tourist attractions such as the museum at the entrance to the national park, or the Hospital Cave, a short car ride away. Oh, and the free internet was quite good!

We had the most amazing stay at the lodge! It was our favourite place we’ve stayed at through our whole trip in Vietnam. The lodge is in beautiful quiet nature which is so peaceful. The staff are incredibly helpful with everything - booking scooters, buses for next destination. They treated us like family with a delicious dinner and we had such a great time getting to share stories over a meal. Extremely grateful for having stumbled upon this gem of a place full of the most wonderful people.

This place was such a joy to stay at. We stayed for four nights and felt so much at home. It’s surrounded by beautiful nature with flowers, butterflies and birds everywhere, which is a very nice change from the town on Cat ba. CG, the manager, and his colleagues are so friendly, helpful with everything and wants you to have the best time there. They helped us with all of our bookings (to a good price), cooked delicious dinners and treated us to some home made hotpot and bun cha. They also let us pick fresh fruit from their fruit trees. We share some great memories with them! Overall I would recommend this place instead of staying in the town. It’s easy to rent a motorbike or get a taxi to go places. Big plus for the four cute dogs (Eva 💕).

Nice lodge with great staff. We were only able to stay one night, but it would be great for several nights. Food is good. Free wifi throughout. They have a pool, pool table, games, and other social things to do. Definitely recommend for a change of pace.

Place doesn't really look like the website. It's a little bit run down and tired. But it's clean and tidy (except for the clump of hair in the shower). It's more of a youth hostel vibe. But the food and service is pretty good and the staff are friendly and helpful. Don't believe previous post. There is a functioning pool which looks pretty good ( we didn't get around to using it). .

This is one the nicest place I've stayed at in south east asia so far. The people are kind, warm, helpful and welcoming. The room was charming and the views breathtakingly beautiful. Located slightly outside of the busy loud town, this place is a true oasis of nature and tranquility. The amenities on site, the swimming pool and the pool table, were really great to have. Bikes can be rented and if you don't like riding scooters they will help you get a car into town or book a tour of the national park for you directly. I can only recommend people to stay here. I know I will definitely be coming back next time I am in Cat Ba.

Amazing and wild place, it is a perfect place if you want to connect with nature and the authenticity that Cat ba offers. The staff's attention have been fantastic, they are very kind and friendly, nice people. They help you so you can enjoy all the activities you can do on the island.

The perfect place for a quieter experience of Cat Ba. I loved my chalet in the jungle overlooking the lake. It’s simple but feels a bit more authentic and the staff were wonderful. They picked me up from the bus on the back of a bike and I was lucky enough to be there for a family dinner, which was a highlight.
