Cat Ba Mountain View

We feel really welcomed. The view from the roof is worth the hassle of all that stairs. The owner is amazing friendly, helpfull, he cook your breakfast. It was so nice. Thank you for your hospitality.

😊: Mountain view is a cuddle! :) It’s quite far from the town center, so no restaurants or night life around but this was precisely what I was looking for so perfect for me. It’s very quiet, calm and relaxing and the only noise you’ll hear at night are the lizards - very funny ones! I want to give 100 points (out of 10) to the staff: THEY ARE THE BEST! Super helpful with a anything you might ask of need and very knowledgeable about the island: they will give you tips and info about where to go, what to do and they also have some tours they can book for you. I did with them the boat tour to Ha Long and Cat Ba Bay and I was very satisfied. Definitely recommend Mountain View if you are looking for a chill and relaxed place to stay with lovely people who’ll make you feel like home! <3 PS: I even got upgraded to a bungalow room after the first night at no additional costs :).

😊: Very kind, educated and attentive staff and kind, humble and hard working owner. Delicious food. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Pool and bar on the top of the hill. Lovely blend of foreigners and locals living/ working there. Beautiful traditional thatched roof on main building and small buildings.. 😢: There is a busy road next to it, but it's the case for most hotels in the area and to be fair, I stayed at another hotel and the road was even louder, especially during the night..

The cleanliness was terrible. Everything was dirty and neglected. In the first room I stayed in, there was a toilet dumped in the yard. Then I moved to another room where the air conditioning didn’t work, and the bathroom, fridge, and carpet were extremely dirty. The worst part was when I ordered lunch… there was a burnt insect on my plate. What I can highlight is that the staff was kind and respectful.

Had a lovely stay with Quinn & John this week. This place is obscene value for money and had clean room with a comfy bed and a private clean bathroom with plenty of hot water. The homestay has a pool, pool table and some lovely views of the bay from the rooms at the top and has some quirky features like our bathroom being attached to the mountain which was really cool. All that aside our hosts were so lovely sharing lots of info about the area and letting us meet their lovely dogs and making sure everything ran smoothly. Slightly out of Cat Ba centre but does make it closer to the hospital cave & national park. Not far to walk into town or you can hire a moped for 100,000vnd a day which is also super cheap. We would definitely stay again!

We rented a bungalow for 2 nights and we finally stayed 11 !!! An incredible welcome, a very kind and helpful boss, a little extra for the manager Quin the queen who made us feel at home. Ok you have to go up for the pool but it's deserved. You deserve 5 stars The real feeling of being on holidays… Can’t wait to see you again one day, take care. Love 🫶🏻 Sefana

The owner Dung was so welcoming. You can book tours easily with them, not overpriced!! Easy to get to the city center by motorbike (10 min) that you can rent there. 15 min walking from Buffalo Hostel if you’d like to go for a beer at night time. They offered a room with the views, a a bit steep but worth it. Thank you Dung!
