I was there for 2 nights. Absolutely- loved this Hotel. Although- it was Cloudy 100% of time and rain 90% of time. I will trust from other people's pictures that there are great views of Mountains, Volcanoes etcetc. The free(came with my reservation) breakfast is fantastic. One day I had eggs- the other day Pancakes. The grounds are immaculate. The rooms are very clean-not fancy- but you will be satisfied. Ivannia and her family have a done a great job of sharing this Fabulous Paradise with us. I look forward to my next visit. Hopefully- it will not be so cloudy. Thanks Again.

Beautiful grounds and super friendly staff. The breakfast is really good and plentiful and there is a large bird feeder right by the dining area where you can see amazing, colourful birds eating while you are dining. Would definitely recommend while in Fortuna!

On the plus side, the gardens are lovely, beds comfortable and the pool is pleasant. Staff very helpful and nice breakfast. On the downside, the bedrooms feel unloved - our taps were covered in odd gluey deposit and it generally feels a lower standard than other places we stayed. Lunch not available until 2.30pm which does not work when you are doing two excursions. As the hotel is a long walk along roads with no pavement to town we never made it there - felt a bit isolated without a car - you can get taxis of course but as they charged us $8 for a 10 minute walk- length ride felt that we would rack up quite a bill. Ate at the nearby Luna Grill as the food there is much better.

We loved our stay at the eco lodge, it was the perfect place to call 'home' for the four nights we stayed in La Fortuna. ||The rooms were comfortable and clean, cabin style with a little front porch and hammock which was a nice touch. ||The pool is beautiful and we were able to see birds of prey, toucans, hummingbirds and tons and tons of tanagers. Breakfast is especially great for bird watching as the hotel has a tree in the garden which they hang fruit from. Every morning we enjoyed beautiful woodpeckers and 6 different types of tanager feasting from it.||Lovely hotel staff always there to help with anything and a night guard after 10pm so we felt very safe. It was noisy with animals at night and rained a lot throughout the night so we didn't sleep amazingly but through no fault of the hotel.||You can walk into the town which is handy, it takes about 35 minutes so do it before dark. Taxis into the centre cost us no more than $5 each way so still okay. ||Very good for access to the waterfall which we walked to, be prepared for a sweaty uphill climb but well worth it when you go in and make your way down to the waterfall for a swim. ||Lovely stay we were very happy spending a few days there relaxing and seeing the surrounding sights.

Beautifull place to rest and relax in the forest, weather are cool, personal are kindness, breakfast was delicious.||A/A quality was poor.||For an couple, I suggest you to grab a private chalet because you can ear the neighbors if your chalet have two room.

I did not have a great experience here. The sheets and pillow cases smelled bad, they were not washed or clean. There was way too much noise from dogs and staff living around the place of banging utensils, etc. The windows are not sound proof at all. First day I was bitten by a mosquito, which is a very common way for a person to die. The rooms were dated, and they gave me the last room in the row of rooms. Breakfast was ok.

Catarata is in a quiet and beautiful location out of the very touristy town of La Fortuna, though it is too far to walk, so only consider if you have a car. |Our room was spacious and clean and the shower was great. There are hairdryers and decent AC. The pool was lovely - it is surrounded by trees, and there are many types of birds flying around as you swim.|Staff were very friendly and helped us arrange a massage nearby with no bother.|There are 3 decent breakfast options (plus fruit) and service is speedy. The site is really well maintained, and they have small signs on some of the plants with their names which was a nice touch.
