The 15 Best Hotels in Denver

"If you want to kick back and linger awhile, you can’t beat this extended-stay boutique hotel, which is redefining the category; in place of the corporate furnishings and dated kitchenettes you might expect, this homey retreat is filled with smart design details throughout. Many rooms include a lofted bed, under which you’ll find pull-out tables and closets, which can then be whisked away to maximize space, and an HD projector so you can stream content at wall-sized proportions. Up on the roof, The Red Barber bar is decked out with curvy pink velvet banquettes, potted palms and monsteras, and whimsical garden gnomes that double as tables. The hotel’s most impressive feature is its treasure-trove-like Playroom, where you can rent or borrow an almost absurdly encyclopedic array of toys and tools: Sure, you’ll find the requisite cruiser bikes and record players that have become boutique hotel standards, but there are also Vespas, ukuleles, fly fishing rods, and GoPros. When they say they want you to feel at home, they really mean it." - Megan Barber, Nicholas DeRenzo

Where to Eat, Sleep, and Explore in Denver

"If you’re torn between booking a vacation rental and a hotel while visiting Denver, check out Catbird, which offers a modern, whimsical take on the typically drab, cookie-cutter extended-stay hotel concept. Situated in Denver’s River North Arts District (RiNo), its bright rooms are like chic, fully equipped studio apartments, right down to the thoughtful half-teaspoon portions of seasonings in the kitchenettes." - Sarah Kuta

Charming Boutique Hotel in the Heart of the Arts District This little hotel is a hidden gem nestled in Denver’s vibrant Arts District. It's about a 50-minute walk from downtown or just a quick 5-minute train ride, making it super accessible. You'll find yourself surrounded by great food spots and a variety of local breweries. The hotel itself is clean, stylish, and full of character. The staff are friendly and generally very helpful. The lobby has a modern, trendy vibe with a self-service kitchen and an innovative self-check-in/out system that adds to the laid-back atmosphere. Breakfast is included and while it's nothing fancy, it's fresh and satisfying—perfect to start your day. A tip: stick with the complimentary drip coffee; the machine-made upgrade isn’t worth it. Our room (a Junior Suite) was lovely—spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed. It’s quite compact, though, and a bit snug if you’ve got more than one suitcase. The bed is also on the smaller side. That said, we loved the unique touches, especially the in-room projector which made for a cozy movie night. We’d definitely stay here again—just in a slightly larger room next time!

Catbird is a unique and thoughtfully designed hotel that makes excellent use of space. The elevated bed setup is brilliant, with a full-size pull-out desk, hanging storage, a safe, a microwave, and more neatly tucked underneath. The room is well-equipped with a small electric oven, a compact dishwasher, a full-size fridge with freezer, plenty of utensils and plates, and microwave-safe glass containers. Cable TV and high-speed internet were included. The shower was great, with perfect water temperature and strong pressure, and the large window with dual-layered shades was a nice touch. The only downside was the lack of daily room service, as cleaning is only provided once a week for longer stays. However, the staff was friendly and happy to supply fresh towels and sheets anytime I needed. Overall, my stay was comfortable and convenient, with fantastic in-room amenities and a welcoming atmosphere.

Google
Catbird and everyone who works were are phenomenal! We had our wedding room block at Catbird and people are still raving about the rooms. It's a very unique set up for a hotel, but in the best way! Rooms have everything you might dream of in a set up that's engaging. The whole team made us feel at home and were super helpful with any question we had! We can't recommend them enough!!

Google
The Catbird went above and beyond to make our son and daughter in laws wedding nothing short of amazing. We used them as our main room block and so glad we did. Tessa Harvey , Event Sales Manager, met with us a few months out and helped us find a space to do yoga for the wedding party the day before. She was so kind and helpful. The Catbird felt like home! Our guests raved about the rooms, the rooftop and what a great location the Catbird was. Bonnie Hay , the Sales Coordinator was great to work with and added special touches to the stay. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff was amazing! Can't wait to stay again on our next visit to the Denver area!

Google
Great boutique hotel with a lot of amenities. They give you hot/cold breakfast daily with coffee provided all day. Cool rooftop, and phenomenal location. Rooms are well kept although definitely different. The in room projector screen was neat. Would definitely recommend.

Google
This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The room has a projector?! There was a stove and a sink. The best was comfy and soft. The shower had great pressure. There was a hidden desk, closet, and more UNDER the bed (it was on risers). There was an automatic black out curtain. I could go on and on. It is right of the A line so if you are coming from the airport it is a cheap 10$ ride on the train. Easy. Great place to stay for a fun night or two in Denver.

Google
Enjoyed the hotel and location. There were some things that were a bit not as advertised. I had looked forward to using the hot tub and it was out of order for the duration of my stay. There was no offer of a discount nor was it mentioned as being broken other than in the hotel elevator. The breakfast options that were complimentary were fine but many things required an additional purchase. This was a little surprising as the rate per night was not the lowest.

We stayed out here for some R&R and felt this hotel looked like it could be fun. This was probably the only hotel I've ever stayed at where I was bummed to leave! Everything from the welcome, the hotel room, the coffee (I know to each their own but I felt it was good coffee) and the rooftop were all great! The hotel has a boutique feel to it. Everything was bright, colorful and lots of places to hang out if you wanted. There were puzzles downstairs and lots of places to hang in the lobby if you wanted to kill time, enjoy some coffee or even just wait for your ride share. The rooms were nice. Spacious, accommodating and clean. Our room had a sink, stove, the largest fridge I've ever had in a hotel room and a freezer. The shades that covered the window also acted as a screen projector so you can watch stuff if you're in for the night. The Rook, their rooftop bar, was a lot of fun. Outdoor pool tables, a grassy area with chairs, and lots of outdoor furniture where you can hang with friends or even just catch the sunset with some drinks if you want. The customer service was great! Everyone was really nice and helpful! Finally the area is really convenient. There's a beer garden, a beer and pizza spot, a liquor store and a few other places of interest within close walking distance. Everything else in downtown is a short ride share trip away. Overall this hotel stay was really positive and they did a really great job at making the stay really comfortable. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking to have fun and still be able to relax.

Yelp
Great place to stay in the very eclectic RiNo District. I wasn't a fan of the self-check in, especially when arriving after a full day of traveling, but my wife and I got through it. Dawn and Juliet were amazing and made us feel welcome each time we passed through the lobby area. The day valet (can't recall his name) when we arrived was super accommodating, even though we self parked. In contrast, the day valet when we checked out on 11/27 was more concerned with his phone than assisting us. The night staff (Dawn and Juliet) were far superior than the day staff, who didn't really acknowledge us. Oh well, their loss, not ours. Our room was great, though we had to call maintenance to figure out the shower (perhaps a helpful sign on diverting from faucet to shower head?) We loved the automatic blinds and projector, though the cooling fan is super loud. Our thermostat acted very flaky as we were constantly adjusting it as it wouldn't hold a steady temperature. We also took advantage of the rooftop hot tubs and had a very enjoyable evening up there. We would definitely stay at the Catbird again when we next visit Denver.

Yelp
First time in Denver and enjoyed our stay at the CatBird! We walked all over the RiNo District and went to some great restaurants around the hotel. Also, a train right across the street that goes to and from the airport?! Amazing. The whole area is a bit pricey... coffee & drinks at the Catbird included. But the room fee was the best I could find! Super cute decor, fun rooms, friendly staff. Loved the modern self check-in and check-out. We had a flight get in at 7am and they were able to let us check in early -- for naps!! My ONLY complaint, and maybe the early check in is to blame, is that while our room was clean, organized, fresh sheets, and clean bathroom, our room was covered in someone else's hair. I'm probably the worst person this could happen to (I have a bit of a phobia lol) so I was a completely grossed out. I'm sure this isn't the norm but it bugged me so much I had to include it here! Otherwise, all was well. Would definitely consider staying again!

Yelp
CatBird lived up to its reputation, both visually and professionally. Main standouts: Amazing, safe location in RINO, convenience to the train, and wonderful team. The front desk staff were welcoming and sweet. The self check-in/out can feel a bit foreign if you've never used a similar system, but a team member was always around the corner at the front desk ready to assist. The valet staff was also so helpful and provided a moped tutorial to help me get acclimated with the Vespa. Their patience was Greatly appreciated! The added touches of hosting themed events through the week and the accessibility to rent beach cruisers/mopeds definitely made this hotel memorable.

Yelp
First time in Denver didn't disappoint (for the most part) and Catbird was a big part of that. The welcome was warm and friendly and the staff was very helpful to answer questions. The rooftop hot tubs were a nice touch on cold evenings and the projection screen was great to use while unwinding from lots of walking. However, the sleeping experience portion of the stay was abysmal. The pillows are awful. The stuffing surrounds your head and you're left with nothing. I was awake for hours each night, and although I do in fact use a firmer pillow at home, this was something completely opposite and there was no fix. We asked if there was any new ones and an employee had said she's been working on getting new ones but the person needing to order them hasn't yet. I would love to pick catbird as our regular stay location, but not if I can't sleep. Other than that everything else was good. Breakfast was great. Coffee great. And the location is perfect.

Yelp
4.5 stars. I'm obsessed with the vibe of this hotel. So modern and classy! Did an overnight staycation at Catbird. Didn't realize it specializes in extended stays. How I'd love to live here for a week! Plenty of street parking around, though you might need to walk a block or two because it gets busy in RiNo. There's always valet parking. Not sure about self-parking options. The one thing I hated about Catbird was the self check-in kiosks that kept freezing whenever I tried to switch my credit card on file. So annoying. Other than that, the room and common spaces were exquisite. Comfortable with plenty of appliances that will make you feel at home. Haven't been to the rooftop yet, but it's on my bucket list for the near future!

Yelp
I'm reposting this review because Catbird apparently had it removed (despite being an entirely reasonable, nonoffensive review of our stay in November 2023). That is a pretty trashy move in my book. This place has a fun vibe and is in a great location, walking distance to much of RINO. The rooms are clean and modern in a quirky, young, fun sort of way. But the service is quite mediocre. Things went wrong with access to the roof and with food service. When we asked (politely) for reasonable assistance, we received eye roll after eye roll from the staff. The place is good if you think of it as a fun, young hostel with private rooms and aren't expecting much. Because if you think of it in terms of expectations of a nice urban hotel, it fails in a lot of ways.

Yelp
I have no idea why this hotel's average star rating is anything less than 5 stars. We've stayed here over 3 times & it's honestly our favorite place to stay in Denver. We decided to get an air bnb this time because we're house training a pup & wanted a backyard that was easily accessible. Our experience was so bad we immediately called Catbird to see if we could get into a room STAT & they were so quick to accommodate our needs, we asked for a room close to the floor & not only did they do that but they had a room available right away for us to check in & they brought us a dog bed to our room. From here on out we're regulars here. My husband was just saying "we could live here!" because we have everything we need right in our room, having a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, skillet, induction burner, pour over tools, seriously, EVERYTHING!
google avatar

Dylan K.

Yelp
Found this hotel on Air Bnb for a stay-cation and it was a great find. Very creative and unique twist on a apartment style extended stay / hotel. It was very modern with their automated check in, included amenities, lofted bed with clever room design for lots of storage, high quality furniture, and a cool feature with a projector as a TV. The rooftop bar wasn't open but the hot tubs were. I am sure in the spring or warmer weather, the rooftop would be a great additional spot to hang out. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this to others.
google avatar

Kim L.

Yelp
Great location in RINO arts district walking distance to some cool spots. Very clean, hip decor, easy self check-in, free breakfast included. There were some cool events on the rooftop calendar, none of which I'll be able to attend unfortunately. Don't know why the rooftop bar/restaurant/lounge is only open on Wednesdays and Sundays (!!). It was also closed all day Saturday for a private event which was a bummer. Otherwise would recommend

Yelp
The Catbird is a cool place. It's a bit of a walk (hopefully you're not walking, though) from downtown and LoDo, but very cool hotel with a friendly staff. There is a bar and hottub on the roof. Really good pizzeria and brewery across the street. Lobby has a large TV with a kitchen and living room feel to it (not like a typical hotel lobby).

Marie S.

Yelp
this funky, fun hotel was quite an experience. From the cool looking lobby to the fun rooms, we had a great experience. It was clean and comfortable. Even had a steamer in the room for our clothes, and great healthy foods for breakfast. Best part was the roof. AMAZING!!!! A relaxing area with hammocks and couches and also a hot tub. What an experience. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a great stay.

Yelp
They want to take more of your money with a hidden "destination fee" of +$30 a day, then they want to hold an extra $50, then their card processors will fail to accept your money. Annoying check in experience and overpriced. The place was nice otherwise.

Yelp
Catbird Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the art district of Denver. The hotel is modern and beautiful and provides a variety of amenities. Valet is pricey and you pay per day, off street parking can be hard to find so plan accordingly if you have a car. One breakfast item is included in your stay each day so if you're staying with multiple people only one item will be free. That being said, the breakfast is great and there is a chef there every morning preparing the food. The hotel also offers a range of thoughtful extras, such as complimentary bicycles, record players with vinyl collections, and a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city. Dogs are also allowed so if you have a furry friend bring them along! The service at Catbird Hotel is also highly praised by guests, with many commenting on the friendly and helpful staff. They go above and beyond to make sure that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of, and are always willing to offer recommendations and advice on local attractions and activities.

Yelp
If your like trendy hotels, this place is 100% for you. The studio room has so many fun surprises: a hidden, space-saving desk, a dishwasher and fridge, an electric stove and fun kitchen gadgets, utensils and bowls/plates/mugs to use, some little weights and a yoga mat, blackout curtains, a projector for the tv, and more! They have events on the rooftop on some nights, like DJ yoga classes. The rooftop is also really nice and trendy, with a cool view of the area. The hotel is also dog friendly, so I was constantly squealing in delight at all the cute fur babies walking around! I'm not sure if they accommodate more handicapped situations because the bed is really high up above some stairs, but that would be my only big complaint (it could definitely get dangerous real quick, even in a non-handicapped situation). There were also some crumbs around the couch and my bed sheets did have a few stains, but overall the place seemed pretty clean. A cooked breakfast is included each morning with your stay, and a drink from the fridge (alcoholic or non) is also included between 4 & 8 each day, which were some other nice perks. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back and recommend this hotel to friends. Another note - you can actually live in this hotel too! I think their website noted that rates start around $2K a month.

Yelp
Such an adorable, quaint, and unique little hotel in the art district in Denver. Had really incredible amenities, food options, and room layouts. I thought everything was so cute and fun, I would love to stay again sometime...

John R.

Yelp
I stay here because of the in-room kitchens, which are really pretty good and quite well stocked. Otherwise, this place doesn't have much to offer for me. Self check in is still a PITA. And it's really not much of a self check in system when the employees have to help 9/10 of the guests navigate through it. They advertise pour-over coffee in the rooms and, while the equipment is still in the room, they stopped providing the coffee. Despite what the web site says, bring your own ground coffee and filters. Street noise is pretty rough! It's a cheaply built hotel so no much consideration for sound attenuation on the very busy Walnut street side.

Angela T.

Yelp
You walk in and there is a giant mirror blocking your view to even see where you need to go to check in. Staff were friendly! Self check in, the newest addition to hotels. I love people so this is a bit disappointing. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room. I feel like if I needed a place for an extended stay (even one night) this is a nice choice. I will say I was disappointed to see a ramp to the hot tub area only to find out there are stairs to get to the actual hot tubs... I was perplexed by why they had a lift to help wheelchair users into the hot tub if they weren't even able to get to the lift to use it. Lift doesn't work anyway sooo why bother. Not a single person knew how to get a wheelchair user into the hot tub. They thought maybe the lift comes out to that second level but no one knows. (I spoke to 3 different staff members to include one that looked like management in a black blazer) There is a lot of noise from the street during the day, we will see how the night goes. Slept great! All in all it was a great stay. The hot tubs were clean, bed was comfy and shower was warm. Last thing I'll add is that breakfast left something to be desired. Today's option was a two egg croissant with cheese. It's just that, no seasoning and not much cheese. It was premade so the croissant was a bit hard.

Jeremy G.

Yelp
Stayed here for a long weekend on June 20 - 23. The place seems so great from the first floor, but it goes rapidly downhill with service. The elevators are a total joke - I'm sure I wasted several hours of our trip waiting on broken elevators. Ordered food at the roof top bar. It never came. And speaking of the roof: with no notice, they closed the entire top floor, including the hot tubs, for a private party. On the day of the same, the coffee in the lobby was commonly empty or cold. So I wonder what the $30 "destination fee" was used to cover that day. Absolutely do not recommend.

Christine M.

Yelp
Fun hotel. Great location and much more chill than a normal stuffy hotel. Lots of amenities included. We had a work meeting here and the staff was great as well as the rooms. The check-in process is Al self serve and a little confusing but convenient.
google avatar

Yelp
Stay at Catbird!!! I love this hotel. The decor is stylish and modern. Everything is so cleverly& thoughtfully designed with function as the highest priority. Free made to order breakfast in the lobby until noon every day. The rooftop is huge and has a bar, food, scheduled entertainment, games & 2 hot tubs! My room (the catbird studio) had a fridge, stove, microwave, dish washer, yoga mat, weights, resistance band, large screen projector tv, sofa bed, elevated bed, and storage, storage, storage! The staff- so friendly and personable. There are so many extras available: place to rent outdoor equipment or indoor entertainment. And free laundry facilities on every floor! From a couple days to a long term stay- the Catbird has you covered. And i haven't even mentioned all there is to do in the neighborhood and how close the RIT is if you wanna catch the train somewhere! Stay here and be amazed!
google avatar

Karl S.

Yelp
Stayed here for a retreat/conference with friends last weekend. The Catbird is a fantastic place! Loved how the check-in process was collaborative and felt more welcoming seeing the screen (vs other hotels standing there as an employee typed endlessly on a screen you can't see). Rooms were very creatively designed with raised beds (closets and desks in hideaways inside the bed). Loved the yoga mat standard in rooms, it was so nice not to have to go to the gym for my morning and night back stretching routines. Breakfast options were delicious. Lobby was open and inviting with informal sectioning for small group convos. Coffee available all through the day with nondairy milk options (set out in the morning and easily available upon request through the day. Would absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Denver. Only small downside (not even a negative) was that a couple friends and I (so it wasn't just me) could NOT figure out how to turn off the TVs in our respective rooms. So we each just all unplugged ours.

Yelp
Hotel was rated a 4 star hotel through Priceline and in no way is it a 4 Star hotel, room was uncomfortable, bed and pillows were uncomfortable, air conditioning was so loud I couldn't sleep at night. Bathroom lights are dark so very hard to put makeup on, room didn't seem very clean either. I am not a big person at all but I can tell you the shower area is so small I can barely shave my legs or move around in there. There is absolutely no desk area or work area if you want to use your computer or have to work in the room as the only table there is a very small table that barely fits a laptop. Making coffee in the hotel was some pour over system that was too complicated to figure it out. Overnight parking was $42/night Bar closed by 10 pm on. Thursday night and there is no where around close to feel safe walking to get something to eat or drink

Yelp
I got hit by these guys two...I checked out 3 weeks ago and now I have a mysterious $33.00 ghost card!!! I tried to complain but no one answers my the phone. PS-location sucks too

Yelp
The Catbird hotel was a unique and very accommodating stay. We picked this spot because we had a concert to go to at The Mission Ballroom (which is within walking distance). The hotel has self check in and out, but there is someone who helps at the counter/restaurant that you can ask things for. You can also call the number and get assistance. The rooms are definitely tight and set up differently (bed higher up) but they were great for our 2 night stay. The kitchen is mostly stocked - we didn't have a can opener, but they were able to get us one and told us to leave it in the room. The rooms were clean, and showers were nice and new. They also have Vespas to use for free and bicycles. Their gym is okay and sufficient for a short period, IMO. You get a "free" breakfast each day based on what is available (day one, we had an egg and cheese croissant and day two was scrambled eggs + biscuits and gravy). Gabbi was the person at the counter both days while we were there, and she was incredibly friendly and helpful! You can order coffee, but they also have coffee available in the lobby for free. The rooftop is always open and has some games up there, but they only have someone working at the bar when there is an event.

Yelp
We were visiting family in Denver, and the Catbird Hotel was a short 8 minute walk from their home and they highly recommended we check it out! After a deep dive into the property, we were super excited to book our trip! After booking, I reached out to the General Manager, Courtney as we were celebrating a few big life milestones. I asked for a request and they went over and beyond... Thank you again Courtney! Everything we read about the hotel was true, which isn't always the case. We booked a Catbird studio view room and was not disappointed! The room was super clean, stocked with everything from a refrigerator, freezer, and microwave, to a dishwasher, two burners, and all the plates, pots, and pans, and other essentials you would need. We booked a king size bed, which was super comfortable, there was tons of under bed storage complete with a few dozen hangers, room for skis/snowboards, and luggage, along with a comfy couch/double bed, and a huge projector screen perfectly viewable from the lofted bed. Plus, there is a 2nd Tv in the room! The bathroom was spacious, clean, had lots of storage, a huge walk-in shower with rainfall shower head and handheld sprayer, along with hooks and cubbies everywhere...It totally exceeded our expectations! Every person we communicated with at the hotel was amazing, whether it was Nancy who helped us check in, Gilbert on the evening shift, the 8 AM crew getting our amazing freshly cooked breakfast, the housekeepers, or valet, everybody was top-notch! This hotel is also super convenient and located across the street from the A line 38th and Blake train station directly from/to Denver airport. We loved being able to get from the airport to the hotel and back with just a five minute walk, and no taxis or Uber's to worry about! The hotel itself is gorgeous, very well maintained, and as a long-term stay hotel option you really feel like you are in someone's house. Big TVs, tons of books, games to play, you can rent Vespas and E-scooters to check out the neighborhood...They really give you the true Denver Rino experience! For a better view of the area, head to the Rooftop Terrace, Restaurant, and Bar! There is tons of seating, fire pits, and more. The Lobby has a 24 Hour Marketplace with sandwiches, drink options, and more, perfect for a late night snack! When back in Denver, catbird is the only place we will stay!

Yelp
This hotel is fun! We came here to hang out at the rooftop bar and immediately try regretted not staying here during our stay in Denver! It's cute and artsy with a stellar bar on top! We'll be staying here next time we are in town.

Yelp
this is probably a little my fault, cos judging from these reviews, I would have seen the discrepancy in their housekeeping. THEY DON'T COME. be prepared to sweep your own floor [currently have sock crumbs rolling about], change your own sheets [they will apparently bring them to you for you to change ] and take out your own trash. I am in the middle of a 6 day stay and they only deploy housekeeping on the SEVENTH day [allegedly] poor policy. the curly-headed white dude with mustache at the "front desk" is trite at best. again, heed my warning and DO NOT BOOK here if you want to be catered to. just spent damn near $2k to change my own sheets. if I weren't so annoyed right now, I'd laugh. y'all, this ain't it. do better, @catbird.

Yelp
Me-wow! I loved my stay at the Catbird Hotel! Only a few months old, no expense or detail was spared in its construction and planning. The space is charming and unique, the hospitality incredible, and the rooms comfy, posh, and very accommodating! Spacious showers and mattresses and pillows softer than clouds. The breakfast menu was also fairly diverse, and definitely worth trying! I got the shakshuka and it was delicious :) sadly when I stayed the hot tubs were closed for renovation, but it's a good excuse for me to come back!

Yelp
AirBnB and management stated that pets are allowed. Was so very disappointed that cats are not allowed, especially registered ESA cats. The manager gave some excuses, centering on allergies, but nothing a dog might not also have. And the hallways were covered in art featuring cats. Catbird Hotel...hello?

Yelp
I popped in Denver on my way to SLC with my pup. The staff was super accommodating, going above and beyond by helping me to my room when they saw my hands were full with my pup (and honestly just tired from my journey). I didn't get to experience all of the amenities (such as breakfast), but the room itself was awesome. Bed was super comfortable and everything was clean. I was surprised at the little details that went into the room. I have already recommended it to all my friends and will be staying there next time I'm in Denver, hopefully for a longer stay. My only issue was how expensive valet parking was. Other than that no issues.

Yelp
I wish we would have stayed somewhere else. Even with a slow weekend discount, it was overpriced. The location isn't as central as other RiNo hotels, and our room had a lot of problems. Doors were falling off the cabinets, there were dirty towels hidden in the couch, and the shower would not shut off completely, leaving that annoying dribbly noise that reminds you that you are wasting water. We were moved to another room, but overall felt this was just a trendy, overpriced stay. The breakfast is average too.

Yelp
I stayed here for a work trip. This place is terrible! The staff is rude and acts like helping you is some kind of chore. I was trying to check in because of course there is no front desk and was scoffed at by an employee like I had wondered off the street and was looking to squat on the couch. All the staff interaction was negative and rude. Almost like part of their gimmick is being aholes! Their the Dicks Last Resort of hotels! Don't stay there!

Yelp
We stayed here for a quick weekend trip to Denver. The hotel is unique and the setting modern but comfortable. The rooms have all the little extras and the available amenities are quirky and fun. The valet and woman that helped us check in were friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff we encountered both at the bar and breakfast buffet in the morning were not unfriendly but strangely aloof. The breakfast in the morning was a nice thought but was barely warm but otherwise good. Aside from the not hot enough breakfast and some of the staff that seemed annoyed at our existence we had a decent stay. I'd definitely give catbird another try because it is unique and I think they could be excellent with a few changes.

Yelp
Upon arrival--extremely skeptical of the area. Lots under construction, lots of trash, homeless people, and graffiti. Despite our hesitation we decided to continue checking in. Valet appeared to be the only option for us. When we walked in we were a bit confused as you walk into a kitchen and not a obvious front desk. Immediately we were pointed in the right direction with an explanation of the self checkin process. After being charged a $30+tax destination fee we then headed to our room. Room was so unique! Bed/pillows were extremely comfortable, we loved the projector tv feature and the rainfall showed was a fabulous touch.

Yelp
My experience was good at Catbird except I don't buy into the "experience," as they call it, of checking yourself in and out. I had issues with that process and they didn't have my reservation from Hotels.com. Food was good and there were a lot of healthy options. The neighborhood is in transition so be prepared for a mixed demographic. Yheir gym was really nice but I couldn't find any images of it before going. So I'm sharing now for others.

Yelp
Overpriced, low quality service. Food is better anywhere else. Roaches. Dirty sheets. Rude management. So many fees!!

Yelp
Just had the wildest experience at this place. Met some friends at a first stop on a Friday for a bday at the upstairs bar, one of our friends is staying here. We walked up to the outside bar and it had just rained, so all the bar seats were wet. I asked for an extra bar rag when one of the bartenders (Alasia?) was next to us. She yelled something about being entitled and walked off, to a bunch of confused faces around the outside bar. When she came back she spilled the drinks all over herself and the area, and proceeded to yell at me and anyone in our direction how entitled I was and that I needed to leave. It. Was. Insane. We asked for a bar rag, to wipe down the wet seats ourselves... Several people commented at the bar that she was hammered. I walked away and asked for manager, they said none were on duty and offered me a drink. Sorry but a drink doesn't cover over unhinged staff. Went downstairs to speak with a hotel manager, again no one on duty but they took a report and someone walked upstairs to check out the situation. We left and got pizza across the street and after came back to get the car at valet. Would you believe this EMPLOYEE came up and yelled at me and a few other random women (some of whom were there at the bar when this happened) again at the valet stand? The valet workers were speechless, as well as the other customers. Apparently staff allowed her to continue working the comedy show at the bar that night AFTER all this happened. So... yeah, don't go here unless you're in for a mental rollercoaster and completely unprofessional experience.

Yelp
Quirky boutique hotel in the arts district of Denver, my partner and I came for a weekend getaway trip to see some friends and had a wonderful experience here. Staff was exceptionally helpful, valet was a nice bonus (sucked you had to pay but was understandable and efficient), and the breakfast was delicious. Amenities were fantastic, even had some cooking utensils and pots inside out room with a small stove, fridge, freezer, and sink as well. Lovely coffee and tea packets to make our stay and comfy as possible. The room layout and design itself was SO COOL! The bed was lofted and the blinds that come down over the window doubled as a projector screen tv in addition to the small regular tv on the wall as well. 10/10 would recommend and will be coming back here - hopefully for longer!

Yelp
Check-in is done on your own at a kiosk however there was staff around if help was needed. If it were busy, this process could be extremely frustrating. Also, in the suites with elevated beds, there are drawers below the platform that move when you step on them. Pretty scary in the middle of the night - almost fell - yikes!

Yelp
Let these reviews be a warning. This is not a hotel, it is a poorly run hostel with bad service and shockingly small rooms. The lobby is hip and the rest is just a hassle. The price did seem to be too good to be true.

Yelp
This new hotel in a redeveloping neighborhood in downtown Denver gets a lot of things right and a few critical things wrong. I'll start with what's right: fairly comfortable bed, clean, quiet rooms, full kitchen, nice artwork, nice staff, fun rooftop bar, decent wifi, excellent cocoa and delicious avocado toast breakfast made fresh in the lobby café. Now for the goof ups: cold shower - yes, really - so cold I almost couldn't finish it even though I had shampoo in my hair, weird and inexplicable hole in the wall below the vanity in the bathroom aimed strategically at the toilet and undressing area, very loud air conditioner, no suitcase stand, too crowded to walk around the bed comfortably, difficult self-check-in process, and nasty manager who wanted to make excuses instead of answer my questions. I'm not sure I'd stay here again, but if you're willing to make some compromises it might work for you.

Yelp
Predatory pricing. I stayed at this hotel with my husband over the weekend and upon checkout, we had charges from the kitchen we never ate at. Well after resolving that issue, I had a zero balance at the time of checkout and then all of a sudden a few days later I see more charges that were not disclosed at the time of checkout. Beware of undisclosed charges from this hotel. Extremely disappointing with how it was handled and won't be staying here again

Yelp
Interesting hotel. However, we came back from dinner to try to enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar, only to do greeted by inappropriately dressed people in fish nets and scantily dressed, to say the least. Music was very loud and could be heard from our room on the sixth floor. Complained to person at front desk. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR FAMILIES OR ANYONE WANTING SLEEP ON A SATURDAY NIGHT. Totally inappropriate people dressed on roof top. Really a shame and we won't ever stay here again!

Yelp
I REALLY want to love this place. I do. My first visit was during its opening weekend and it was PACKED! Despite the busyness the service was exceptional. Fast forward to a random summer Sunday around 6pm (so AFTER the end of happy hour). Things were really slow and we welcomed the chill vibe. But then...we waited 20 minutes for our first drink. Cat Bird uses a QR code "order and pay by phone" system. We ordered. We payed. We waited. For nearly thirty minutes before a wait or checked in and discovered that the specialty video we ordered (Ketel One Cucumber) was out of stock and the bartender needed to know what other selection we might like. We finally got a drink. Finished the drink. And decided to grab one more round, this time sitting AT the bar, hoping to eliminate the delays. The bartender acknowledged us, saying he'd be right with us. Well...he wasn't. In fact, he decided to finish his dishes instead of taking our order. After about 15 minutes ha finally sauntered our way and asked what we wanted. We decided to leave and go to Embassy Tavern. Say what you will about a hole in the wall, but they treat all of their customers with value. I hope Cat Bird doesn't get so hipster, it foregoes common decency.

Yelp
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE ROOFTOP BAR Left a great review yesterday thru Expedia because the hotel is fantastic but honestly I'm pissed rn I went to roof top bar yesterday and I could see the struggles. It's Friday, there is some people but honestly nothing that one or 2 EXPERIENCED bartender, couldn't handle. There was 3 and I see people waiting and waiting and waiting. I have witnessed people walking away cuz bartenders do not pay attention to their surrounding and who steps in. I saw this girl being pissed because she was next and kept being ignored. She got so mad she left and took her 5 friends that were sitting farther away with her! Fast forward to next day I went to get a glass of wine and there is a new bartender that wasn't there yesterday. There isn't many more people than yesterday, to be honest probably less. I get to the bar and he comes up to me. I A décent human being and I have worked in service industry before so I point out that someone was there before me.. so he goes wait on them, in between serving on customers at the bar food comes out for a customer that he has no idea who it is but in the 5min I have been here I can already tell who the food is for !! RED FLAG YOU ARE IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS HE finally finishes with the customers I POINTED OUT TO HIM that were before me so you know it's my turn. No, for some reasons he decides to go to people that just arrived and when I make myself heard he gives me attitude !! BUDDY, that's a big no!! He did give me my drink for free cuz he probably realized he was outta line but bro this is a bar if you can't keep up the pace you shouldn't be working here Y'all ain't gonna make tips if you act like that

Yelp
First I would like to compliment your team. They were welcoming, professional, happy and engaging. I love the option of free breakfast, it made the mornings easy as I was running out the door to start my day. The decor is fabulous and made you want to hang around the lobby all day! Plenty of seating and workspace for everyone. My room was nice. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was great, the peek-a-boo desk was perfect and I couldn't believe how stocked the kitchen was, even has a dishwasher! Overall a great experience!

Yelp
What a great hotel . This is my second stay, and it just gets better & better. My room has a kitchen, a scrumptious bed, plenty of storage - even if you brought snow skis you could store them out of the way in this room! The shower is huge & the water pressure is great & the place is immaculate and FUN! It's only 2 blocks/a 2 minute walk to the 38th & Blake RTD station. If I have to stay anywhere else on future trips to Denver, I will be doomed to being dissatisfied after the great rooms at The Catbird.

Yelp
Never picks up the phone. That is incredibly frustrating flying in and looking for a hotel.

Yelp
awful service. understaffed. the lobby is nice, but everything else was either mediocre or low qualit. especially the service. awful location.
