Came here for dinner. the food at Catch tastes like a 20 year old's foray into cooking "adult food." We ordered a number of small plates which took well over 40 minutes to produce, including cold refrigerated prawns with soy sauce (described on menu as "pint of prawns, lemon aioli, soy & ginger emulsion, saffron butter").
In general, menu descriptions way oversold. Oysters were tiny & came with a "champaign pink peppercorn mignonette slushy," which was basically vinegar with two peppercorns thrown in. Brussels sprouts with fish sauce caramel were well, brussel sprouts overcooked with a little bit fish sauce. All other dishes were severely underseasoned & didn't taste like much of anything.
Most of the seafood seems to come from the freezer in the alley behind the restaurant, so I won't assume much at Catch is actually fresh.
On the service front, wait staff moved around like robots & flopped food down on the table without so much as a word. Staff were nice enough, don't get me wrong, but it resembled a production line more than a restaurant.
We had planned on ordering 3 courses, but left after small plates. Don't plan on returning.
