Yelp
Paso Robles is home to many excellent restaurants, especially around the downtown city park between 11th and 12th streets. Catch is one of our favorites, and this was our third visit, each time with reservations. Every time we've dined here, the restaurant has been packed, with a line of eager diners waiting outside. Reservations are definitely a must!
For this visit, I made a reservation for 6 PM on a Friday for four people. My son's girlfriend was visiting, and they were craving seafood, so Catch was the first (though not the only) place that came to mind. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated immediately. Our table was near the kitchen, but it didn't bother us at all.
We started with drinks and two appetizers: calamari and Blue Point oysters on the half shell. The calamari was outstanding--meaty, lightly breaded, and perfectly fried. The oysters were large, fresh, and delicious, especially with the horseradish and cocktail sauce.
For the main course, three of us ordered pasta dishes: clam linguine, shrimp fettuccine, and pasta primavera. The fourth opted for the sea bass special. The food was excellent, just as it had been during our previous visits. The seafood was incredibly fresh, cooked to perfection, and bursting with vibrant flavors. I tasted the sea bass and was blown away by its preparation and depth of flavor--it was a true highlight.
Even on a busy Friday night, the service was fantastic. Our server was attentive, and the food arrived promptly. The only drawback was the noise level. With an open bar and grill area, along with full tables and lively conversation, it's a bit loud. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate dining experience, this might not be the place for you. However, if you're after some of the best seafood dishes in Paso Robles, Catch should absolutely top your list.
This won't be our last visit--we'll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend Catch!
