This has been around a long time and haven't been here in awhile. After this dinner realized it was certainly a mistake. Food was REALLY good. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. Two of the tinest call outs: lettuce on burger was a little soggy and mashed side on churasco steak was a little dry. Certainly set off by EVERYTHING else on the table. Meatball app was great. Penne with chicken was really good. Great sauce, perfect pasta and chicken nice and juicy. Churasco steak was just as ordered. The jasmine rice side was superb!! Everyone at table was fighting over tastes. Wedge salad was done as an entree as it was nice sized and great blue cheese, both crumbles and dressing. Hamburger was solid and fried very good. Excellent dinner with the fam. No room for dessert. We'll be back soon!

We stopped in for a late lunch / very early dinner so crowds would not be the issues Great atmosphere with friendly service. The menu was packed with so many mouthwatering options it made it hard to choose We starter with the beef tenderloin tips, cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. The texture of the baguette with the beef tenderloin was amazing. For our main course we had the scallop dish and the crab stuffed shrimp. The scallops had an intense flavor. Delicious. The crab stuffing was perfect with the shrimp all of which was smothered in an incredible cream sauce I highly recommend this establishment

I ate at this restaurant. I’m Memorial Day for dinner and ordered the following; bread with butter, jumbo coconut shrimp, grilled salmon with butter sauce, and french fries, mahi-mahi with green beans and french fries, and I added a crabcake to the meal for $9.99. For $15.99 the jumbo shrimp was far from Jumbo. Five or six coconut shrimp showed up to the table and the shrimp were the same size as you would buy at the grocery store in the frozen boxes which are about the size of a quarter or slightly larger , but far from jumbo in addition, the shrimps were very hot in the middle, but not hot on the outside. When I asked the waiter about the shrimp, he informed me they were indeed large, jumbo shrimp, like a tiger shrimp, but once they are fried, they shrink down to a quarter size. Overall, not a big fan and had the manager removed this item from our ticket. The salmon wasn’t too bad. Dipping the salmon into the butter sauce, made it more appealing, but nothing to write home about. I did eat the whole salmon. The mahi-mahi I was told was delicious and the butter sauce also complemented the meal. The green beans were very good as they were soft and hints of garlic. The crabcake was OK. From someone who is born and raised in Maryland I’m very biased when it comes to crabcakes. Crabcake had some hints of crab in it along with lots of filler and topped with mango sauce. I’m not saying it was horrible just saying it’s not largely convincing. I’ve been filled with chunks of crab. I did eat the whole crabcake and thought it wasn’t bad for someone who’s never really had crabcakes filled with Chesapeake blue crab. And of course, as you can imagine, the french fries, and the bread and butter topped it off.

Amazing I went here for brunch on Sunday and they have 15$ bottomless mimosas! The food was amazing and the staff was super helpful and fast. I’ll be back. I recommend the Hawaiian sushi roll and the lobster steak eggs Benedict

Visited Friday with the family, I thought the location was nice despite difficulty in parking. The restaurant was clean and very aesthetically pleasing. The drinks were strong, although the apple cider Sangria taste like cheap riesling, the mule was good. The panko Mahi was well seasoned, pasta perfectly adente Fruiti de mar, delicious. A good children's menu for adventurous and not so adventurous eaters. Bon apetite.

Dined here twice this weekend. Once for dinner and then brunch the next day. Both meals were absolutely delicious! Service was attentive and the tables and booths were comfortable. The food was served very timely and I highly recommend going for weekend brunch.

First visit here and will definitely return...had the grouper, perfectly cooked & seasoned filet with crimini sauce & St. Martin salad with their seasonal draughts...all tasty & with matching speedy service courtesy of super attentive & delightful Valerie. Thanks to Gabriel for stopping by our table as well. Ask for their sunset menu if you're there before 6pm!

We visited last Saturday night although we have not heard good reports of food and service since the remodel. We entered a very empty restaurant for our 7pm reservation and was greeted by an extremely noisy bar area. The hostess has very accommodating and sat us on the opposite side of the restaurant away from the bar so we could hold a conversation. During our visit it quieted down so may have just have been game viewing. Our waiter brought us menus which were iPads along with a printed list of that day's specials. My partner had a hard time using the iPad as not intuitive but I was able to navigate the menu and appreciated the accompanying photos. Our waiter brought 3 rolls and ice water soon after being seated. We ordered drinks and were pleased with them. The calamari appetizer was average at best and would not recommend and apologize for the half eaten photo. Our entrees were stellar , delicious, fresh and at the correct temperature. The Brown Butter Scallops and Black Grouper. The fish portion seemed larger than the 5 ounces stated on the menu and the rice and vegetables was a good portion. Received six scallops in sauce with a side and the entree was delicious but needed rolls to fill out. Our waiter did check back periodically but when requesting additional rolls the never received so asked again and then came out with one roll stating the oven was full of entrees and found that explanation odd. The decor is modern and stark, many more tables than before the remodel. We were there at a slow time and wish there was a wall separating the bar from the restaurant table as very noisy upon entry. The three drinks were average to low price $30 total and with the one appetizer and two entrees before tip was $116 and change and about $150 with tip.Even though this is in our neighborhood and we like to support local businesses we would rather drive to other seafood places either for the entertainment, better atmosphere or view, and larger portions with leftovers for the same or lesser cost. I would most likely visit again for a quick drink and appetizer in the bar.

Yelp
Five stars for their Tuesdays Taco and Tequila night. I've been here a couple times for the Westchase Mom's Group Book Club and this time it happened to be on a Tuesday. From this point forward, I'm going to vote that it is always on a Tuesday because of Taco and Tequila night. I was able to get two shrimp tacos and a mango margarita all for $20 (including tax and tip!) That's incredible and everything tasted delicious. They were out of strawberry margarita so I tried a mango one and it was delicious. The tacos were great too, the shrimp was perfectly seasoned. Service was wonderful, for a table as large as ours I thought the whole evening went pretty smoothly. Especially since one table over was Westchase Elementary's PTA board so they had two large tables next to each other to handle. I always love the decor of this place. It's modern and bright. It's a large dining room so I've never had a wait. The parking lots may be full, but there's tons of street parking. This isn't like South Tampa where they tow if you park on the street. You really can't go wrong with Catch Twenty-Three. That's probably how they've stayed in business so long.

Yelp
Catch twenty three looks amazing, upon walking in your met with great enthusiasm. it's a beautiful restaurant and very lively but the food was Average . Lobster escargot - It was fairly bland and nothing stood out enough.I was expecting the Parmesan to shine here and didn't get the escargot experience I was expecting. Definitely needed some salt and more Parmesan or garlic. Rock lobster linguini - The lobsters had a nice grill char but again seasoning is lacking heavily. The pasta is bland, there's a hint of garlic and butter which is standard but there was not enough flavor for me to really enjoy it. The grouper sandwich was decent with the only plus being the flakiness of the fish. Again it was lacking in seasoning department and not the blackened fish experience I expected. The sweet potato fries were overcooked with a hint of cinnamon, oddly enough they were a bit soggy. Beautiful restaurant in a great location but food was average. It was really busy so that could have possibly been why catch had an off night but oh well.

Yelp
The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is great, but the food was just average. We started the meal with an order of Grouper Bites that were unseasoned, even after a squeeze of lemon and adding chaula hot sauce, the appetizer was not very appetizing. My seafood rossotto was beautifully plated, however, the dish lacked flavor; so needless to say, dessert was not a consideration. To our surprise when the bill came we discovered that Catch Twenty-Three had put us in a "catch 22" by accessing an extra fee if paying by credit card verses paying in cash. Had the food been really good, it probably would not have made a difference. However, we opted to pay cash and decided that tonight's experience was not a good catch after all.

Yelp
Friendly waitstaff and that's where the positives end. Came for a quick bite on a weekend and happened to catch their brunch. I was a bit put off by their 3 egg "create your own omelette" at $13 with zero included toppings because each topping was an upcharge-- so $13 for 3 eggs and a side. I ended up getting the 2 egg breakfast with a salad as my chosen side. The salad dressing tasted like a creamsicle in the worst way, it was drowning the greens to the point that they were soggy, my eggs were both overcooked and freezing cold, and the sausage was the only truly edible thing on the plate. My husband got the avocado toast and there was hardly any avocado on it (more like pico tossed in avocado) and what was there tasted very overripe (possibly rotten). The eggs on his toast were cooked well, so at least he had that. To top it off we waited a very long time for our food and it was not very busy as we caught the tail end of brunch. I wish I could give this place a chance again and try some of their more popular dishes but unfortunately I do not think I'll be returning. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time (always looking for that local gem) and was pretty let down. Can confirm they do charge a decent credit card fee as another reviewer mentioned. It didn't bother us because we kept our bill fairly low by not drinking, but I can imagine that would be annoying with a more expensive bill. Again super friendly waitstaff, maybe this would be a better place to just grab a drink.

Yelp
I come to Catch23 with some of my neighbors... they are all retired and in their 70s-80s. They love that the hamburgers here are half price on Monday Nights. I have had some of the seafood here... and it is usually good. They took my favorite fish and chips off the menu though, darn it. The hamburgers are decent... very basic. But they apparently do not salt them or pepper them while cooking... hardly any flavor at all. For half price, they are ok... I would not pay full price for them. Next time I will ask them to spice it up ... hopefully they will. Sweet potato fries! I am a purist when in comes to sweet potatoes... a baked or roasted one only needs a little butter. No marshmallows, no syrup, no brown sugar... I don't want dessert, I want sweet potato! I missed on the menu that they add cinnamon brown sugar to their fries... other than that the fries were wonderful. I don't have the sweet tooth that is so common with Americans... so I need to remember to specify NO SUGAR, lol.

Yelp
Catch Twenty Three has been under new management/owners for a couple of years now. They have remodeled the interior, which is beautiful and have now updated the menu using a touch screen menu. Burger night is now $6.99 for a cheeseburger and fries. They also have a mocktail menu, which I didn't notice before the switch. I ordered a strawberry basil mocktail, and it was so refreshing and delicious! I'll be trying other dishes from their updated menu.

Yelp
1/ If you're paying with credit card, just know there is a fee. Had we known this we would have brought cash because on a $300+ bill, that was maddening to see. 2/ The food is just downright tasteless. The penne pasta tasted like they just put jarred sauce over a box of boiled Barilla pasta. The calamari was over-fried with so much batter on it there was no taste. The fish was bland and the rice tasted like it was out of a box with a packet of flavoring. 3/ Server was the best part of the experience, she was so kind. But save your $$ and go elsewhere.

Yelp
Food is more like a 4 but atmosphere and high cost is like a 1. Food was great but not worth the high cost. Tables are packed in too close - no room to breathe. Outdoor dining is loaded with flies. Noise level is very high - can't hold a conversation without shouting. Understand that they are under construction now but close your doors until finished or offer a 30% discount on your prices if you want to retain clients. We used to frequent in the past but will not be back to this restaurant again.

Yelp
I would like to start off by saying that the wait staff was absolutely lovely, and kind and the food was delicious. That being said when ordering a carafe of mimosas, they brought it out in a plastic beer pitcher when others had received the carafe. We had ordered it with pineapple juice and they told us it was in the champagne (we tried it and it was not). They then brought pineapple juice in a rocks glass that spilled everywhere when attempting to pour. It was very awkward, but I definitely enjoyed the service other than that and the delicious crab cake egg benedict. I will come back but hope this doesn't happen again.

Yelp
The food was great. We had a party of 10 that were getting together for an early dinner during the holiday weekend. The restaurant is a little pricey and in a touristy area IMO. The service overall was good but the waitress screwed us up on the bill. There items that was listed on our bill that we had no idea what they were. During dinner there were multiple flies (3 or 4) that was bothering our party. We were eating on the inside of the restaurant. So it was unexpected considering we weren't outside. We are while fanning the air to keep them away. Then towards the later part of the meal after appetizers, and drinks, we had another unschedule party goer that was walking on the table. It was some type of small black bug that seemed quite comfortable. We let our waitress know but she basically ignored the information. I THINK she was thinking we were trying to get of paying since we were asking for the bills. After we paid, she acknowledged what we said about the bugs and apologized. But basically the experience of having a great time with family member from 4 states will be remembered by the bugs and the screwed up bill. We won't be going back. Others may go and have a good experience but ours didn't turn out as we hoped...

Jennifer M.

Yelp
If you want a normal size cocktail, I suggest that you order a double. Please exercise patience when waiting for your drink to be made. Also be aware that the bartender might be under the weather if you see her taking her temperature while mixing up a drink. We have loved this restaurant for 20 years, but as the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down, we will drive elsewhere.

Yelp
I live in town and country so I love coming into this part of Westchase for brunch! Catch 23 has been around since I moved here and probably long before. In the past couple years they've upgraded the inside and it looks amazing! The art on the walls is beautiful and I really dig the digital aquarium. I usually come here for brunch and I'm a sucker for bottomless Mamosa's! I love that they offer different flavors of juice as well. Today I got one of their skillets it was super good and I ate the rest of it later for lunch. I will say it was a little bit oily and it felt like my potatoes were drenched. I got there right as they opened so my server was very sweet and attentive considering I was her first table. I definitely wanna come back for dinner one time.

Yelp
My brother considers this his hidden gem! And a gem it was! I want to start by saying everyone who works here is divine. We were greeted and seated promptly. The hostess was the sweetest of them all. After seating us he asked what the best part of my day was. I don't think I've ever been asked that before. It was a joyous occasion because I hadn't seen my brother in months and was excited about our reunion. Our server was outstanding as well, like the Disney version of the service in my opinion. Catch Twenty-Three has top-tier service. The ambiance was great. The bartender has some amazing music playing, fitted for the evening for sure. Now let's skip on to the food. We ordered calamari, lightly seasoned, and fried to perfection. We also had the tempura shooters; I have mixed feelings about this. The tempura, while tasty, was served in a literal shot glass causing the shrimp to get slightly oversaturated. I would have preferred a drizzle. But both sauces were flavorful. The seafood risotto is just WOW! The scallops were firm, the shrimp were succulent, and the mussels were fresh. The asparagus added a much-needed crunch to the dish. The food overall was 9/10. This location is highly recommended. Parking can be problematic if it's busy!

Yelp
We went here for thanksgiving and the food and the service did not disappoint. They had a special holiday menu but you were still able to order off the regular menu. We started off with an appetizer of lobster escargot. Escargot is a traditional French dish that's served as an hors d'oeuvre with snails. The dish is prepared in garlic butter and wine sauce with cheese. The presentation and taste was awesome. For the entrèe I ordered the Sea Bass encrusted in a Macadamia nut with cream sauce. The fish was flaky and well seasoned. My wife ordered the Braised short ribs. The meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. The portions were above average. I ordered the bread pudding to go.....Not overly sweet and the cream sauce was the perfect finish. A great dining experience.

Yelp
Good food and service and nice atmosphere. Crab cakes are excellent and reasonably priced.

Yelp
10.29.21 - they are currently working on renovations, so not as many tables inside (maybe less than 15) so it can get packed quick on the weekends. Currently VERY LIMITED liquor options due to the renovations. Had the makers with a splash of ginger ale ($12). Not my first choice of drink m, but it was like any bourbon & ginger ale. The tacos on the appetizer section can be a mix of shrimp, steak, chicken or grouper ($14). The flavor was great, but the filling was very skimp. Think it should come with 3 pieces of shrimp and not 2 and the steak/grouper was a very small piece. The side of sweet plantain was very disappointing as you can see- it only came with 4. Tasty, but I wouldn't order it again for the price of the portion. Think when the restaurant is fully complete, that's when we will probably come back. P.S. If you check in, you get a free draft beer which is their bud light.

Yelp
This place has been around forever and is one of Westchase's local spots. They have redone their menu a couple of times and it just keeps getting better and better. Recently I went for lunch and had their lobster bisque. My mouth is watering even writing this review on it back. It was great, everything you could ask for. The location is so ideal and it's the perfect time of year to sit outside and enjoy a great meal.

Yelp
Great food...but seriously don't order a martini, watered down severely. Grey Goose martinis with hardly any Grey Goose!

Yelp
Food is good but not great. Location is nice as they have indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
I was recently in Tampa visiting g family and this neighborhood restaurant was recommended. I am so glad I had a chance to try it. The neighborhood where the restaurant is located is adorable! From the. Moment we approached the door, we were greeted by the sweet hostess. The wait staff provided great recommendations. The restaurant itself was so cute and modern. I loved the decor, the bar area and outside seating. I ordered my food to go but still received amazing customer service. I ordered the blackened sea bass with butter sauce, crispy Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. The food was sooooo good! The next time I am in Tampa I would love to have dinner at Catch 23.

Yelp
The Catch Twenty Three Restaurant is located in West Park Village in the WestChase area of Tampa and offers delicious seafood, sushi, steaks & Burgers served up in an upscale setting! Sounds of smooth island music pair well with warm lighting, and mouth watering aromas emanating from the pecan wood grill at Catch Twenty-Three. The catches of each day call for 'Certified Fresh Seafood' with a twist of Caribbean/Latin fusion cuisine such as a creamy garlic butter cilantro sauce or a spicy mango salsa. The French Onion Soup came with sweet caramelized onion in a rich brandy beef broth, croutons, melted Provolone cheese. There was lots of melted cheese and the flavor of the soup was to die for! 10/10 The Linebaugh Burger came with a large 8oz. Beef burger, caramelized onion, brown sugar glazed peppered apple wood smoked bacon, fried eggs, and chipotle mayo. The apple wood bacon was amazing and the egg have it extra flavor! 9/10 The Fiery Cajun Pasta Alfredo comes with grilled Shrimp and Chorizo Sausage in a Spicy Cream Sauce over Linguini Pasta. The sauce has an amazing flavor and the the serving size is very large and filling. 10/10 The Key Lime Pie was served with whipping cream and lime zest on top of raspberry glaze. The pie was not too tart or too sweet. I'm not a huge fan of Key Lime Pie but it was not my choice and was not bad. 7/10 With a Yelp checkin and purchase of an entree, get a free domestic beer! We got a plush comfy booth and our server was friendly and pretty quick. Our food came out in under 10 minutes. If you're in the Westchase Area and looking for top notch Seafood, definitely try Catch Twenty Three!

Yelp
Had brunch with a large party and was greeted right away. The place is really inviting and accommodating. We ordered bottomless mimosas with a flight of different juices. Glasses were large but the champagne was in a pitcher and was kinda flat. Some of the ladies ordered apps and they looked good. The food was just OK to me. My chicken was overcook and dry and had no flavor. Had to add salt & pepper to everything on the plate. Only took 1 star away bc of that but overall we had a great time.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was spot on from start to finish. We were in a party of 15 and from the greeting of the server to the taking of our orders to food delivery was seamless. The quality of the food at the table was excellent with dishes ranging from salads, tacos, fish and steaks. The filet I had would rival just about any top steakhouse I have ever been to. Highly recommend this restaurant

Yelp
We ate here with a group of 12. We made reservations in advance and they were ready for us when we arrived early! They have an amazingly gracious, knowledgeable and professional staff, phenomenal food and a beautiful dining room!!! Everyone in our group was blown away! We can't wait to go back and we plan to bring other people in order to spread the word!!! Such a fun evening!!! Thank you Catch Twenty Three

Yelp
Dear owner, I am a neighbor and really want all your customers who experience the food to give you a 5-star rating. Your restaurant decor and ambiance is my favorite. Your menu selection is also broad, tailored to the season and great but an area of focus that I would recommend is to pay a little bit more attention on the taste of your food. I've been to your restaurant many times since I live nearby and tasted different dishes. Most were just Ok but I was a bit disappointed with your Churrasco Steak with Chimichurri sauce. The name in itself should stir up the yummy and tasteful thoughts but your dish was not tasty at all. Even adding sea salt did not help. Your chargrilled fillet Mignon can also use some flavor. Typically quality steaks don't need any seasoning but for non-prime regular meat, I think having some marinade or increase your seasoning might help.

Yelp
I just had the best fish lunch. You would have been in heaven. Sangria and Smoked Mahi Fish Dip (Mahi Mahi Smoked Dip, Celery | Flatbread Crisps), St. Martin Mixed Greens Salad (Goat Cheese, Toasted Macadamia Nuts | Citrus Vinaigrette Carrot, Heirloom Tomatoes, Onions and Mango Salsa), Crab & Shrimp Chowder (Sweet Corn, Bacon & Potato Hash | Crab & Shrimp), Sesame Seared Tuna (Thai Chili Rice, Bok Choy & Edamame Stir-Fry | Miso Glaze), Grouper | Seabass | Tuna Trio (Red Pepper Risotto, Honey butter Baby Carrots | Lemon Butter & Pina Colada Sauce). That pina colada sauce on the sea bass... to die for!

Yelp
Why 3 stars? Maybe we caught them on an off day. Maybe 3.5 would be best but considering that me and everyone in my party didn't finish their food and not because we were full I am giving a 3. First, we came early before the ipened and we had a 10:30 reservation we thought thr place was closed. We figured they're still getting ready so we'll come back. We went for coffee and came back at 10:32 and the door was still locked and it seemed the staff wasn't ready. I knocked on the door to see if they would open and then we were seated. I will say our waitress was nice but must have been new because no matter what question we had about the menu she had to check even down to prices of cocktails. I ordered the large biscuit and gravy which took like 15 minutes to make. Except one side being hard overall it was good. I got the chicken and waffle with grits, one friend got Avocado toast w crab and my other friend got the salmon Benedict. My chicken and waffle was amazing. Waffle a little soft but the chicken perfectly fried and seasoned. The grits were the worst I have ever had and I am annoyed they were almost $4. My friend ate barely half of her Avocado toast and said the crab tasted liked canned tuna. My other friend said her meal was okay. I want to note that they wanted the quiche of the day but they hadn't made it yet. I chose this place due to the rating and reviews but now I feel bad bringing my friends and we weren't pleased. Cute place and friendly staff but I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
I often like sitting at the bar. Great service, more one on one interaction with the bar staff, esp a guy named Jack. Super attentive, polite & fabulous customer service. He adds to the food & fun at Catch23!! Thx

Yelp
This was a favorite spot for many years. We can walk there and have a great meal and good drinks. Loved their everyday specials. My go to was French onion soup and salt and pepper shrimp. So many great meals at the bar. I understand things change and business need to adjust but the standards have really gone down and the new management doesn't seem concerned. Case in point, French onion soup . One pic is what they advertise, the other is what you get. This is just one of many issues of late. Ugh!

Yelp
Bad food and way overpriced. Too bad because it's a nice location and the area needs a more upscale dining option like this one tried to be.

Yelp
The food & wine at Catch 23 was superb! I ordered citrus scallops with brussell sprouts & despite the scallops being superb, I was surprised by the brussel sprouts (of which I am not usually a fan) & ordered some more to take with me! Unfortunately, the environment was very loud & the neighboring table had a drunk individual seated there that was distracting and our server was not attentive in serving our wine, appetizer (cold soup), and dinners together. The lack of table cloths & the noisy environment due to the lack of noise absorbing carpet on the floors or walls distracted greatly from the ambience! If you are ONLY looking for tasty food, I recommend take out!

Yelp
First timer! Came in for weekend brunch because hello-bottomless! We were seated right away and our waiter was very attentive. I got the bottomless mimosas and they were a good champagne to oj ratio. My glass was never empty as my waiter would come by and refill me throughout the morning. Food came out quickly. I got the braised beef skillet and although it didn't look like the most delicious thing in the world-it was! The potatoes were nice and crispy yet soft on the inside. The poached eggs on top had perfectly runny yolk. The sautéed onions and beef were tender and delicious. I ate every bite! I'll definitely be back to check out their dinner menu.

Yelp
Filet n lobster tail w asparagus, mushroom risotto and Bernaise was well prepared. TOOO much Bernaise that enveloped the dish. Outstanding flavors on every item. Being culinary trained the risotto was the highlight of the dish. It's very difficult to prepare and it was outstanding.

Yelp
Overcooked steak and burnt bacon on the burgers. Nickel and diming for things like pickle slices on burgers. Top it off with a 4% charge to pay with a credit card. Neat place.

Yelp
I like the ambiance of this place- we sat outside for brunch. Our hightop table was wobbly. The house salad is fresh- no discolored lettuce and the tomatoes are ripe to consistency. The carrots are awkward- when you cut the salad they just jump from the plate and then when you take a bite if the fork isn't in the carrot they fall in-between the fork slits an into the table. The crab cakes are amazing! There is actually large lumps of crab meat in the cakes which is very refreshing as so many restaurants serve shreds of crab meat in their crab cakes. These are mouthwatering! The 2 sauces served with them are pineapple salsa and another sauce that tasted like a combination of thousand island & tarter sauce. Together they didn't pair well with the crab cakes but each sauce individually with the crab cakes were very complimentary. Shrimp and grits- grits are very bland. The shrimp by itself are very tasty and well cooked. Taking a bite of the shrimp with the grits is not complimentary. The grits actually take away the flavor of the shrimp. I would not recommend. The stuffed shrimp- the coconut rice is very good. Its light, fluffy, well cooked and the shreds of coconut give it a nice complimentary flavor. The stuffed shrimp however- not impressed. The stuffing is 99% breading and is very bland- after tasting it I didn't continue to eat it. The sauce had a light lime flavor- mixed with the shrimp and rice was very good. The positive of this dish is the shrimp cook well. The mimosa was very tasty and the right amount of champagne and orange juice! Overall the food and service was average. The service was lacking- different people served each dish. Our waiter checked on us once- maybe twice but I only remember once. Then we had to go up to him and ask for our check, he didn't remember he was our waiter until I told him he was. Then we went back in to give him our check as we had to go and couldn't keep waiting. Overall I gave it a 3 star. I can see this as a good social spot to get some appetizers and mimosas as the apps seem to be better than the entrees.

Yelp
Husband and I went for Thanksgiving. Very nice Thanksgiving. Butternut ravioli, butternut squash soup, pecan pie were delicious. Husband had goat cheese with beet salad and enjoyed the butternut ravioli with fresh spinach. Great recipe-definitely homemade and the pumpkin cheesecake pie was fresh and great! Server was friendly. Crowd was good and the area was great. Good experience. Would return for sushi weekdays!

Yelp
Totally forgot about this place. Looks like a normal place, lots of tables inside and outside. We went for date night and the food was decent. You get a free beer when you check in so yay! I wish they played music because it was pretty LOUD in there when it's completely packed. The brunch options look good and I'm sure if we remember we will go there again.

Yelp
A neighborhood favorite, Catch 23 isn't just seafood. They have a great burger night weekly that draws the regulars in over and over. My favorite? The Lobster Escargot! Buttery, garlicky, and cheesy bites of tender lobster meat are served in a traditional escargot plate. Steaming hot, the bites are good enough to eat without the bread that accompanies them. I know I know, there's some rule about seafood and cheese but trust me this combination is a winner! I'm not going to say that I've ever eaten two orders as my entrée but if you like lobster, it wouldn't be a bad thing. The prices are a little on the high side but not overpriced by any definition. Often one assumes a neighborhood restaurant is low key dining. This place draws the locals, but also makes a perfect date night. After dinner, walk down to the square and sit by the fountain and do a little people watching. Parking is tight up front, but there's plenty of it behind both sides of the shopping plaza.

Yelp
My second time here and it did not disappoint. The lobster escargot is amazing! We got the crab cakes For the first time and they were actually pretty good. Lots of crab instead of filler, however on the small side but tasty. The first time I came here, I got the scallops and have been dreaming of them ever since so naturally I had to get them again. The sauce is to die for and the scallops perfectly cooked. Hubby got the stuffed shrimp and and we shared. Probably the best stuffed shrimp that I've had in a long time. While I am sure there are other tasty things on the menu, I don't think I can get anything else bc I love these items so much!

Yelp
Fresh food, great service. If it's beautiful weather than please sit outside. I love their cocktails as well, but you can never go wrong with the seafood pasta. Calamari too!

Yelp
Fantastic lunch experience here. Had a nice BIG red sangria to start, with the calamari. And the calamari was exceptional. Cooked to perfection with a light breading and a great sauce to pair. For my meal I had the salad with blackened salmon. I'm craving it right now writing this. The salad had goat cheese, mango, carrots, onion, and a light summery citrus dressing, and the blackened salmon was cooked perfect. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
A little pricey but very tasty! Nice seating both indoors and outdoors. Good for a fancier or more important dinner!

Yelp
I didn't see the Free Domestic Beer check-in until I had paid my bill or else would've taken advantage (dang it!). Because of Covid-19, I am more lenient on my reviews. I would choose 3.5/5 if only we'd have that selection. **The Ahi Tuna was fresh, came out to $1/slice with 10 pieces. This is where they lacked originality - the sauces included soy and Sriracha. If they had just been more creative w/the sauces, would've escalated this dish. I can easily buy tuna, coat it in sesame seeds & sear it gently.** **I was able to enjoy 2 Shock Tops for $4 during Happy Hour that ends at 7pm on a Thu. night!** **Service was standard.** They have a $10 speciality burger from 11/5 - 11/15 during Tampa Burger Week although I've read about $4.99 Mon. burger + fries deal (not sure if it's a current promotion w/Covid-19 times) that's more enticing. My friend and I sat in the hybrid bar area outside w/views of indoor dining section including a couple tvs. This place isn't world shattering & has live music nearby that gaves it a warm feeling.

Yelp
We were a party of 9, and were seated right away. The menu was on an iPad,which was interesting because the entire menu could have fit on the front and back of a paper menu. They updated the decor inside and it looks good. It wasn't crowded, but steady customers picking up orders to go. The only issue I wasn't happy about, was the fish trio dish. I understand that everything has had a price increase, but if you raise your prices-significantly-don't cut the portion size. That's all I'm going to say about that. All but one of our servers were good, I really enjoyed the grilled fish sandwich I ordered!

Yelp
I had been wanting to try here and I was excited when I heard that Catch Twenty Three was participating in Tampa Restaurant Week. First let me start by saying that I am not sure if it is fair for me to review it for the first time during an event. We understand that it is not easy to be preparing a special, separate, menu along with the regular menu during busy dinner hours. So please keep that in mind while reading my review and know that we will be going back to give it another try because we LOVE the atmosphere and Jordan our server was the best! Now onto the food portion of this review. I am only giving it 4 stars bcs the food was just ok. I ordered from the restaurant week menu (a preset menu for $58 with 2 choices to choose from in course one and course two). My husband ordered off the regular menu. I started with their Sunset Cosmo (Yummy) and the French onion soup (regular menu). It was flavorful, not over powered by to many onions, and had lots of cheese which come on we all know that's the best part LOL It was one of the best I have had in a while! For my course one item off the special menu was the crab stuffed mushrooms. To my disappointment it was way more stuffing than crab. As you can see by the picture I took it apart and could barely find a bite. On top of that it had NO flavor not even the mushrooms :( For my second course I had the sesame seared tuna and shrimp. Again I was disappointed. It was Aesthetically pleasing and great for a photo but the tuna was over cooked and so dry. I could barley get down one bite. The best thing on the plate were the 2 shrimp. For my third course it was the banana foster. I am not a dessert person but it was REALLY good and I would order it again. For my husband's dinner off the regular menu he ordered the mussels... the broth was yummy with the bread but the mussels themselves left something to be desired. Half of them were uneatable. While waiting for my food to come he ordered the Caesar salad which was just ok. Nothing great about it to make him order it again. Not much flavor in the dressing. He also ordered the lobster tempura roll minus the salmon. It was also just OK not a lot of flavor and if you can tell by the pictures not a lot of lobster either. It's like once they took out the salmon they didn't think replace it with a little bit more lobster just to give it some more meat. Now at this point I am feeling really bad for my husband because he has not enjoyed anything. Next her orders the Margarita flatbread pizza. This... this one was a winner!!! I did have a bite and it was delicious! He also enjoyed and help me eat my dessert. Even with our food experience during this visit we will go back and give it another try. I think we should always give restaurants a few tries before we make are final decisions. So many things can factor into an off night. one thing I can promise you is that you will not be disappointed in the cocktails, service and vibe!!! It is also best to make reservations for they do get very busy!! Livinthefoodielife and Livinthefoodielife4u .. salute ... Pura Vida and Biba Dushi !!!!
