I recently stayed at Catcha Falling Star in Negril and wanted to share an honest review of my experience.
The room looked exactly as advertised in the pictures, which was appreciated. However, it was quite small and felt a bit clustered. The placement of the wardrobe unfortunately blocked the TV, making it impossible to watch from the bed. When we opened the curtains, we also noticed cobwebs at the window, which pointed to a need for a bit more attention to detail in cleaning.
That said, the housekeeper we interacted with was absolutely lovely. She was friendly, helpful, and quick to provide anything we needed—extra towels and other essentials were never an issue.
The Wi-Fi was impressively fast, which was a definite plus.
The restaurant opens early (7:30 AM), which is great for early risers. However, we had mixed experiences with the restaurant staff. Some were polite and accommodating, while others came across as a bit unwelcoming. There were inconsistencies in what we were charged for—some staff charged us for extras that others didn’t—and not all were open to minor adjustments to our meals, even though we were paying for them.
On a more positive note, we had a very pleasant interaction with one of the morning waiters. He was warm, conversational, and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable during our meal.
Overall, the resort has a lot of potential, and with a few improvements in consistency and cleanliness, it could offer a much better guest experience. I'd recommend it with some reservations, especially if customer service and room comfort are high on your list.
