Absolutely stunning church that looks magical at night and equally splendid and breathtaking during the day. The Cathedral, constructed between 1575 and 1576, initially featured a Neo-Gothic design, deviating from the prevalent Spanish colonial style. It was declared a National Monument on April 22, 1995.

With 30min to spare until close we were able to make it to the rooftop of this beautiful church!! It was an experience that we will never forget and having the bells sound as we were up there was amazing and unforgettable!! If you get a chance to go i definitely recommend it. There is a cost of $2 per person and you will be asked to pay once you’re upstairs.

This is a great experience regardless of religion. Had the opportunity to climb up to the top of the church for $2 per person. Lots of steps in a very narrow space. There's plenty of parking public and a few private places near.

Beautiful gothic style Catholic Church, probably the most famous in the whole country of El Salvador. The main plaza is surrounded by Historic buildings like the teatro Nacional de Santa Ana The city has many buildings dating back from the 1800's

Absolutely beautiful and stunning cathedral facade. The architecture is just gorgeous. Too bad they don't (seem to) curb the pigeon population but the kids love (to feed and play with) them that's for sure! 🙂 Inside the cathedral was very peaceful and solemn. Outside it's in the center so there are foods and other offerings everywhere.

Amazing place to visit and take pictures! Make sure you ask to go up the staircase to get access to the roof and if you're not afraid of heights, get up and there and taking some amazing pictures and video.
