Catedral de San Cristóbal de las Casas

Beautiful church in the heart of San Cristóbal. The outside area is really fun to explore, especially with the lively night markets nearby. The interior is stunning, peaceful, spiritual, and truly awe-inspiring. A must-visit when you’re in the area.

A beautiful cathedral and a wonderful town San Cristobal de las Casas

Historically significant cathedral that has some great artwork depicting various saints, but otherwise very plain. Outside the church are numerous venders giving the location the feel of a festival during the weekends. While there is a road up to the cathedral, I found the lengthy switchback stairs in the front a great challenge and exhilarating exercise.

Incredible piece of history. I had the bad fortune to visit this place after the devastating earthquake of 2017 and it was closed but the facade remains a powerful sight.

The main church on the Dan Cristobal. About 300 years old. Lots of shops and coffee places, shopping area around it. I did the walking tour from here.
