Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora da Conceição

The surrounding area is interesting but the cathedral is in actuality more of a church. Strong stench of urine everywhere in the vicinity.

In Italy or Spain this would be a simple church, but here it has to be appreciated this monument

Stopped here this morning. This is a very beautiful church. Mass was being held and the congregation filled the church until there was standing room only. The grounds surrounding the church were in pretty poor shape, with significant amounts of debris everywhere. Be situationally aware when you are visiting here.
