Catedrale Santa Maria Assunta

Great cathedral from end of 15th century. The most important altar is a Maria's, entirely made of silver. And lovbedthe one in back, made of stone, John the Baptist with Jesus.

Beautiful cathedral in Bastia, close to The Citadel. Both French and Italian influences. I particularly loved the ceremonial hats of the former bishops (all of whom are now buried in the crypt) suspended from the arches by both sides of the choir. Really peaceful - until the peace was ruined by a coach load of loud-speaking, camera-flash using tourists. Would have given five stars if they had someone on hand to prevent such disrespect behaviour.

La malattia le più belle chiese di tutta la Corsica e questa è una di quelle. In cima al vecchio porto vicino alla Cittadella potrete ammirare la bellezza di questa chiesa con davanti alla facciata una bellissima pavimentazione. L'ingresso ha un piccolissimo gradino. Da qui in poi potrete ammirare una bellissima vista mare.

La cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, nota anche come duomo di Bastia, è un edificio di culto cattolico situato nel quartiere di Terra Nuova a Bastia, in Corsica. Fu sede della diocesi di Mariana dal 1570 al 1801. Dal 2000 è stata inserita nel registro dei monumenti storici di Francia.

Une belle cathédrale qui abrite plusieurs beaux tableaux, un magnifique autel dédié à la Vierge Marie et surtout une statue en argent pour la Vierge Marie. Le seul petit bémol, le système de monnayeurs pour pouvoir éclairer la cathédrale. Certes cela paye l'électricité mais quand certains rentrent et que la lumière s'éteint, ils pense que c'est la fermeture... Cocace.
