Our favorite breakfast place in Bozeman! Giant mimosas and a lot to choose from. Also lots of choices for breakfast but our go to are the Catastrophe and The Witch. But I'll bet anything is great.  They also serve lunch. Get there early on the weekend to avoid a wait. Don't forget your cateye glasses!

Great cafe off the main street downtown Bozeman. 70’s vibe, so cute inside with trivia pursuit cards at each table. Food reasonably priced & tasty. Would recommend

Went to breakfast and was surprised by how quaint and nice the outdoor seating is! I got the Felix, the sandwich was the perfect size and the potatoes were crispy & delicious!

Really enjoyed our visit for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We ordered a breakfast special which was a huckleberry strawberry cream cheese stuffed croissant French toast , and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the biscuits and gravy which was so tasty too! The atmosphere is lovely and the staff was efficient and friendly. Great spot.

Google
Fun menu and good food. We had the Popeye and the Cowgirl. Both were good, although the banana bread French toast was a little disappointing as it did not have as much flavor as expected. Go early as they get busy.

Google
This place is good for a breakfast meal. Service seems a little for a slower time. The food was good. Expect to pay over 5 dollars for coffee, dollars for a single pancake, and dollars for added bacon to your order. 2 peeps, over $75.00w/tip.

Went here for breakfast and the food was quick to come out and tasted great. The huckleberry mimosa was delicious. The cat pancakes were cute. Seating inside is a little cramped but I like the atmosphere. Definitely want to get there early as we had to stand on stairs to wait for table. Friendly service. Would go again.

Google
Locally owned & they just celebrated 20 years in business! The perfect local staple. I always have a wonderful time at Cateye and leave satiated. The food is amazingly delicious, the staff is extremely friendly, and drinks are fun and affordable. I highly recommend a visit anytime you're brunching in Bozeman.

Yelp
A lovely place that was cat themed! It was quite busy but they were able to seat us quick and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. See the pics! Everything was delicious and our server was kind. Would love to be back for that adorable ambiance.

Yelp
Another fun little place in Bozeman! Shout out to our wonderful waitress, Sugar! She had so much energy and truly wanted to help us map out a day of hiking and exploring the area. The food was good. I had a BLT and a cup of clam chowder which complimented each other perfectly. Hubby had the Ruben (which is his very favorite and he was pleasantly surprised because no usually gets it right for him. Also, a super great location, after lunch we walked are downtown Bozeman!

Yelp
The best breakfast in town! Real iced tea! Yay!!! It was so good yesterday we went right back again today!!! The menu is full of yummy combinations. None of them disappoints. Their salsas and sauces are the perfect toppings. The eggs are cooked to perfection. The portions are generous enough but don't forget to try the potatoes!!!

Yelp
In all honesty this place used to be amazing but coming back 2 years later this won't be my go to breakfast spot when visiting anymore. The chicken fried steak was pretty bad, tasted like a dry hamburger. It was sad because I really raves about this place. At least the banana bread French toast was delicious . The server we had snatched up menus from our table and cut my 10 month old babies eye and he now has a scratch going up his eye. I get accidents happen but when it comes to an infant at the table maybe don't just grab and not pay attention just trying to be ima rush.

Yelp
My wife and I split the Gravy Love...AMAZING!! So savory and fresh. Service is great and atmosphere quaint and cozy. Will be an absolute must stop when we come to Bozeman. Wonderful job Cateye!

Yelp
Wow.. my wife and I weren't expecting the food to be sooo over the top. We had the The Witch, John's Ox and 1/2 order of the Banana Bread French Toast. Their gravy came with both dishes, that was fantastic sausage gravy! The eggs were done beautifully, light and fluffy. The BBFT is unique and I will definitely try to make this at home ( I hope I come close). If you are anywhere near Bozeman, make the detour to The Cateye Cafe, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This place was delicious! It's a don't mess around straight to the delicious point diner! I did a halvsies of the pancake special and one of their famous sammys! You can't go wrong- everything was portioned perfectly! If you want water- ask for it! Not a place to be shy :) Food was quick and the coffee was coming in like a rushing river after snow melt! Great way to start your day before work or a hike.

Yelp
Cute, casual, consistent brunch spot, not jam packed with tourists. Great breakfast sandwiches, scrambles and pancakes.

Yelp
Great breakfast in a cozy, friendly restaurant. Service was excellent and the food was the same. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Bozeman!!

Yelp
Finally stopped in at Cateye Cafe! At 9:30 on a Monday we were seated immediately. The staff was awesome and so patient with us taking forever to order. I had the pineapple mimosa in a mug- delish! We started with the gingerbread, which was to die for, and for my breakfast I went with the fishbowl. Salmon, eggs, spinach, and tomatoes cooked to perfection. The in house hot sauce was quite good too! I will definitely be back to try lunch, and Cateye is my new go to breakfast spot! 10/10 would recommend! Oh and I ordered Togo for the hubby. He said the huevos gringos was amazing too!

Yelp
I didn't love the food but I want to give it another try especially because locals love it. The concept was really cute and I'm a dog person so still saying that! Everything is themed perfectly down to the restroom sign reading litter boxes. I was bummed because when we got there they were out of a lot of things. I wanted to try the tuna melt for example and that was gone. I think I had the last cup of French onion soup because the I overheard that from the table next to us when they tried to order soup. I definitely rush ordered because I shouldn't have gotten a grilled cheese sandwich with bread already on top of my soup! But my other guests had already ordered and their food was on the way when the waitress came back to tell me that my order was not available and so I just said a grilled cheese without thinking and it sounded simple enough but if I had thought about it for longer than 0.2 seconds then I would've probably ordered something else. And it was mediocre at best. Not delicious cheese oozing out or anything. Just verrry basic. So I was disappointed and mostly myself ordering that and then it just wasn't great. And now that the areas growing a lot they probably need to step up their game a little bit because there's a lot of new competition.

Yelp
Calling all cat lovers! I am a self-proclaimed cat lover so naturally, we had to stop by for breakfast. Cute cat decor throughout the restaurant! We arrived around 8am ish on Sunday morning and there was a line - sign up on the clipboard at the top of the steps. We waited for about 10-15 min and were seated. I believe the drink I got was the Ghetto Mocha - it's on the sweeter side but a lovely morning "treat" drink. Love me some prosciutto so naturally, I ordered The Felix. The roasted red pepper aioli was my favorite part, it took the sandwich to the next level. The sandwich is a little greasy but finger-licking good, and the torta roll was very soft. The Catastrophe is great as well! An enhanced version of a regular eggs, bacon, and toast breakfast. Service is great, reminds me of a nice family restaurant. The cups are cute too, I bought one to take home!

Yelp
Quite possibly the coolest place in Bozeman. IYKYK. Just go. You won't be sorry. Expect a wait. It's good food, good drinks and good service y'all. Be patient. It's worth it. Be sure to read the rules upon arrival, and abide by all. Also, you get extra credit for wearing cat eye glasses. Duh. All of the breakfast dishes are freaking delicious, and the big cat mimosas at brunch are purrrrrrrfect. Try it. You'll love it.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was average and portions not what we expected. We added an egg but it didn't look like it was added but we paid for it. The server, Sugar, was really nice.

Yelp
Went here yesterday for breakfast. Service was a bit slow, but they were busy. The inside is very cute. Drinks and food were very delicious!
google avatar

Bria G.

Yelp
I loved this place! It's so cute and cozy inside (the exposed brick plus warm lighting was just perfect). The food was DELICIOUS. I got the Alley Cat sandwich for breakfast and it was SO tasty. My dad got the fishbowl scramble and thought it was kind of meh, but that's not stopping me from leaving a 5 star review. I wish I could come here all the time, but I'm from out of state. Service was good, they were quick and straightforward. Great all around!
google avatar

Yelp
The food and service are consistently delicious and friendly. Nothing fancy but always a satisfying meal.

Suzanne M.

Yelp
My daughter, a Bozeman resident, took us here for brunch and we loved it! We had the banana bread French toast, pancake, and BLT Scramble. Coffee was good and plentiful, service from our waitress was Excellent with a capital E. It's a small place, so consider dining there during the week. With how good their food is, I bet they are packed on the weekends! We had fun playing Trivial Pursuit at our table while we waited. While you're there, read "The Way of the Cateye". Snarky and hilarious!

Yelp
Great place! So warm and comfortable. They encourage a reasonable clientele. Don't bring ego or attitude. A treasure.

Yelp
The atmosphere is funky & fun, the food was delicious, the staff was attentive and the wait was long but that's normal for Saturday mornings in Bozeman. Overall, I recommend this restaurant.

Colleen G.

Yelp
Great little restaurant tucked away in downtown Bozeman. Great breakfast, nice service and selection. Love the decor and atmosphere! Cat themes. I'm a dog lover, but love Cateye Cafe! A Must try!

J S.

Yelp
Cateye Cafe is a fun stop ... I had the chicken fried steak with sausage gravy and two eggs ... The portion was huge and all tasted great. I was greeted when I came in and seated quickly, Service was friendly, engaged and attentive. The place is small but efficient with a good vibe, very clean with a simple country home decor. I would definitely come again and try some of the other items in the menu ... they all sounded good.
google avatar

Ross L.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place enough, awesome atmosphere! The biscuits and gravy are to die for. Also great service!
google avatar

Joan M.

Yelp
Oh my.. what a cute surprise once you walk through the door. It looks so tiny from the street but opens up all the way back. It's definitely a cat theme here and very very charming. The kitchen is open to the dining via off center square windows. They have regular tables, bench style, booths and some high tops with swivel chairs. I love that they swivel!! The curtains on the windows, so hIt's so quirky in here and again you definitely get that Montana vibe. The food is diner style with big mugs of coffee and hearty plates. I just loved it. Don't miss if you come to Bozeman, Montana

Yelp
Um cats and breakfast? Meow that's something I can get on board with. You've cat to be kitten me too with all the variety. Makes for one meowtastic time!! But seriously, first went here in grad school and this place doesn't disappoint even after 7 years. It's awesome and even better than I remember! Plus all the cat stuff doesn't hurt making it even better!! Love cateye!

Yelp
This was my first time in Montana and I wanted to have a late breakfast. Cateye cafe was walking distance and a great spot for a quick bite. Excellent service, delicious food and great ambiance!
google avatar

Dillon J.

Yelp
Fun and quirky atmosphere. Quality food on a diverse menu. Many places do one thing well, I'm Cateye Cafe's case, everyone recommended the Banana Bread French toast. But we tried the the Alley Car Sammy and the Gravy Love and it blew our minds. For me, the Gravy Love was a taste of home. It was like being home in Florida or visiting a great aunt in the foothills of Tennessee. The heavyweight as Rich's bf floury with huge chunks of sausage. The Sammy was gooey and full of fresh flavors. The fiancée really enjoyed it and only finished half! Saving more for later! The service was excellent and the team behind the counter was very personable. Overall, definitely coming back next year.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
You don't need to be a cat lover to enjoy the food, but it makes the art and decor more fun! The food came out in perfect proportions. The staff was very helpful and friendly! We even were serenaded to our table! There is usually a long line so get there early or later. Street parking is free. Highly recommend!

Jason H.

Yelp
Both the food and environment were good, but the prices are much higher than what is shown on Yelp. The waitress did not seem to care that the business is being misrepresented and just informed me of their own website (even though I had already eaten).
google avatar

Tammi C.

Yelp
Cute, small cafe just off Main Street. Street parking in front and around the area. The restaurant is a former house, with plenty of cat decor. It's a bit cramped but a fun experience while enjoying downtown. Food was good.
google avatar

Tim J.

Yelp
Waited 30 minutes to be seated, then 30 minutes to be served pretty mediocre food, at fairly cost. The menu (maybe a joke) just confirmed our opinion that their customers don't matter as much as their Kitchen. Won't be returning!
google avatar

Jenna M.

Yelp
Fabulous food and charming staff! We laughed at the menu, the decor signs and our waitress, Sugar, the whole time. A must eat at in Bozeman!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Get the Reuben hash or the banana bread French toast. You will not regret it!

Nicole B.

Yelp
Been coming here for years, but probably won't be back just because of the cost. Pretty slow service, despite there only being maybe 5 tables occupied, and the prices have jumped since our last visit. The food is good but really can get just as good over at the Western for a fraction of the cost (got a smaller bill at Western for 3 people vs 2 people at Cat). The cat aesthetic is fun but just not a welcoming vibe the last few times we've been there.

Chas M.

Yelp
We're with Betty B. Been stopping in on road trips east and west for years. It used to be great; suddenly it's not. Prices are high, service is slow, portions are a little small. The place used to be packed with locals; now it's not. What happened?

Yelp
Excellent food, locally sourced and great service. I've stopped here a couple of times driving through town.

Yelp
Spent a week in Bozeman. Was a great experience in this beautiful state and town. Ate a lot and loved it, with a few exceptions. First time for breakfast here. Had the Huevo Gringo. It was plain and below average at best. Beans were cool, dry and powdery at best. Potatoes, although piled high were plain and very plain and undercooked. But a lot of them. A small scoop of sour cream topped the pile of plainness. Microwaved cheese on top. A little bit of red salsa could be seem. No taste, no flavor and no presentation. On a positive note, the coffee was good as was the music. Recommendation.... Too many other places to eat.. don't waste time here.
google avatar

Dennis M.

Yelp
Tasty, creative dishes, friendly service and fun environment. And mimosas! We keep returning.

Yelp
Darling Cafe off Main St, Bozeman, MT. Yummy menu, quirky interior and very friendly staff!
google avatar

Heather Z.

Yelp
We tried the Cateye Cafe for lunch. It was good. But there was nothing super special about the food. The chicken pesto sandwich was ok - better after I removed the bun. It turned out the bread was too big for the flavor. Once I took it off the bun, I could taste the pesto. The pasta salad was quite good. The tuna melt was average. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. There was 90s alt music playing - which was a great blast from the past. We would go back, but we would probably go for breakfast as lunch was just average.

Sarah B.

Yelp
This place was ok, kind of dusty and dank inside. Like most places, the prices have gone up and the portions have gotten smaller. $17 for a very small portion of egg scramble and two tiny pieces of toast.
google avatar

Amlyn Noah C.

Yelp
Expect to wait Saturday and Sunday mornings. This place is good. Quaint and cutely decorated with everything cats. Very sixties mixed with victorian tea party elements. Tall western ceilings in a 100+ year old brick shell with an outdoor patio area that is tucked right in the midst of downtown with suburban garden escape feel. Food is beyond compare for breakfast, the only time we have eaten there, so the food we can accurately rate. Each breakfast item is delicious. Service is great. You will be acknowledged and gotten to as expeditiously as possible, with a smile. Despite the volume of customer and wait to be seated at times, once you are seated, you are well attended to. Really cool mimosas. I love the blood orange one! Everything on the menu is cat theme named, very cute, love this place! Buy a t-shirt or hoodie! I did!
google avatar

Yelp
Food 5 Service 5 Patio seating with shade, pet friendly and resident frenchies. Fresh hand pounded chicken fried steak (best we had in town). Vegan/gluten free options but still has the comfort food you are looking for - huevos, banana bread French toast and scrambles. A good mix of country and modern food. Staff is very friendly, quick and attentive.

Yelp
I've heard from many, the Cateye café has amazing food. Today was my first time in and it exceeded all my expectations. The food was prepared and presented to perfection. It was a good sized menu so I just went for the basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. It is clear the owner, Kevin, takes great care and pride in his Café. It was packed with happy customers. Service was great as well. When one has a perfect meal and is given a smile, it makes life that much better.

Mollie W.

Yelp
This was such a fun find! Best bfast playlist ever, friendly service, great food and value. I'll be back.

Michael W.

Yelp
What an all around horrible experience. Just the cringiest owners on the planet serving heart attacks on a plate. The servers and service provided was great. But overhearing the pretentious but somehow boring owners yak to their guests is enough to make you lose the greasy, low quality, dog food out of your stomach. Your cardiologist will thank you that you threw it up but the damage might already be done. Besides the food being just DISGUSTING, it is boring. Which is almost as bad as it being poor food. Uninspired boring cuisine. Be anything but BORING

Penny S.

Yelp
Great service, delicious locally-sourced food, awesome background music, cute cat-filled atmosphere! We loved it!

Yelp
Banana Bread French Toast was one of the best things Ive ever had. Place was hyped up to us and it did not disappoint.
