There was a time since late 80s early 90s, even early 2000s Catfish King was the restaurant everyone wanted to go to. David Beard's Catfish King the name and the quality of food is something that the Atlanta, Texas location strived towards. I've been into this location in the last few days and I can say I'm not happy with the changes this location has made. The entry which use to be welcoming and someone they actually greeted you and was actually happy you'd come there and spend your time & money there. It's essentially a Catfish Cafeteria, very cold atmosphere, tiny drinks, and orders mixed up. There was no manager on duty, employees sitting around behind the manager whom I assume was the one cooking as well. The manager is just that someone who is suppose to make sure the staff is doing their jobs, ensuring the customers are happy and not cooking while the employees are sitting around. A far cry from what Catfish King use to be. It's not part of David Beard's network, and even though the food is decent, all other issues take away from it. Make the entry inviting, not cold lifeless, and actually teach your staff customer service, friendly atmosphere, some music to let people know someone is actually alive in the building. Management issue needs to be addressed and replace those cups with something bigger than a small coffee cup. Restore faith in your location and the local population and tourists.
