Attended a presentation at the Cathedral Basilica explaining about the various architectural and spiritual features of the building. The presenter said that it will be closed for renovations for approximately 8 months to 2 years after this Easter 2025. I encourage everyone to consider making a donation to help with renovations of this historic Cathedral where Saints Damien and Marianne's relics are kept and venerated. Areas that will be renovated include: the pipes on the organ, ceiling, side altars, wood pews, coral columns, side wall paneling and upper balcony and choir loft areas. After the tour we had the opportunity to attend Mass and pray at the special 2025 Jubilee Cross. Visit before Easter Monday before it closes.

While visiting Honolulu, we attended Sunday Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace and had a truly wonderful experience. The parish community was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. What stood out most was the hospitality, we were even gifted a handmade seashell necklace, a thoughtful gesture that made us feel like part of the community rather than just visitors. The historic church itself is stunning and filled with a peaceful, reverent atmosphere. If you’re in Honolulu, whether Catholic or simply interested in history and culture, I highly recommend visiting this basilica. It’s both spiritually uplifting and a unique part of Hawaii’s heritage.

Amazing!❤️. Very very good Church!✝️. The priest had an awesome homily on how God is the kind, loving and the good shepherd; he also mentioned that Our Savior Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! Therefore, without any doubt I strongly recommend going to Our Lady of Peace! Know Our Savior Jesus Christ loves you, and have a great day!😃⚓️🌊🙏⛪️

During our visit to Honolulu, our first stop was the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace. This is a beautiful place to thank God for the gifts we have received 🙏. We loved the artwork of Saints Damian and Mary Ann Cope so much that we went to the gift shop and purchased a few Hawaiian Shirts with these two Saints and the Basilica printed on the shirts. The staff here was so gracious and nice to us as visitors. Thank you.

I came here for the 6am Christmas mass, and it was a little difficult to find the entrance in the dark. It is a fabulous looking church inside, I love the rich history of this cathedral. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and it was a great service. I personally have a special place in my life for Father Damien of Moloka'i, as I chose him as my confirmation name. So it is really cool where he was ordained here and is also buried here. My tip is to be aware that there is a parking garage that is off of Bishop street and choose the church option while parking.

Google
Are there no washrooms around the church grounds. I am facilitator from the Liturgical Music Ministry of the Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Singapore. A friend was desperately looking for a toilet but was told; there was none. It’s Christmas Eve, and the church doors were locked. I was hoping to pray and offer my offerings that the Blessed Virgin Mary while I’m here. Seriously! Catholic Child.

Beautiful old Cathedral! Check another one off the list. So cool to find our Lord in the Eucharist no matter where we go.

A must visit for both the religious and non-believers as well.Nestled around modern tall buildings, along Bishop street, the Basilica Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace, the “oldest in continuous use” in the country, having been established August 15, 1943, the facade doesn’t really look like old except for its form. When you get inside however, you can see intricate old architecture. The Basilica, we were told by church people”, actually contains a first class relic of St Damien of Molokai (a body part of the saint) and the full remains of St.Marianne of Molokai. Ate Damien and Marianne both devoted their Lost years of their life taking care of lepers in Molokai (leper Colony) where, I was told by a parishioner, both of them contracting the disease themselves later on. We didn’t have the chance to see the relics/remains though. The old cathedral offers a serene ambience conducive to praying. Underground car park is available for free for church goers after having the parking g stub validated.

Yelp
Wonderful church and historic. I enjoy the clergy and the people working here. Several services offered. Beautiful inside and they are working on obtaining restoration donations. Whether your looking for a religious or historical experience I recommend the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace.

Yelp
Such a nice Catholic church hidden in the city. Make sure you get the right parking ticket that is labeled for church so you can get the validation. Very friendly and welcoming parishioners and priest. Come early, silence your cell phones, and wait until very end of ceremony before leaving. They're strict on etiquette.

Yelp
Thank God I found this wonderful church and met many good people in this church. They are very kind and warm hearted.

Yelp
An absolutely beautiful Cathedral well worth attending for mass. We've been wanting to come here for many years. Parking is easy. They validate and it's good for 2 hours. We attended the Sunday 1000am mass. What was sad is that the average age was probably in the mid 60s and about 75-80% female. Where you you gents??? But I suspect that many of the elderly ladies were widows whom outlived their husbands. We highly recommend hopefully you get a priest that speaks clear English as the homily was hard to understand especially through a mask. He is taking the mask policy too far their is no one within a good 15 feet maybe more near him during the homily!!!! We prefer St Augustine's by the Sea with father Lang. Ok I'm still rating this five stars because it is a house of God and it continue sins not only the Holy Eucharist but also is where St Damian and St Marianne Cope! There is a reliquary chapel that houses the relics of both St. Marianne and St. Damien.

Yelp
Completed in 1843, "The Cathedral" in Downtown Honolulu is the oldest structure in the area. Sometimes, I'm not able to attend Sunday mass at my usual church. The Cathedral has Saturday vigil mass at 5pm; and Sunday mass at 6am, 7:30am, 9am, 10:30am, noon, and 6pm. Lots of options! Metered street parking is free in Downtown Honolulu on Sundays. There also is underground parking - the entrance is on Bishop Street. "The Gallery", in the adjacent building is a gift shop with Aloha attire and Hawaiian influenced items such as rosaries and bookmarkers. (Note: the restrooms are located in the hallway next to The Gallery.) The interior of The Cathedral is awesome! It's old school type of decor with high ceilings, pillars, marble, stained glass, and fancy, gold trim. In the past, the pews were arranged to face the center where the altar was. Now, the pews are all traditionally in one direction - towards the front. I enjoy the organ music here and the voice of the lead singer. If I guess correctly, Composer Robert Mondoy was present. On a personal note, my mom went to daily mass here when she worked in Downtown. Also, my parents were married here, so The Cathedral has an important place in our family's life.

Yelp
Serenity, peace, and tranquility await the faithful worshipper or casual visitor alike at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in downtown Honolulu. The non-descript exterior conceals an exquisite jewel of artistic beauty inside. Soaring stunning paintings of Saint Marianne and St. Damien of Molokai flank the altar. Beautiful stained glass windows flood the sanctuary with multi-colored light. The gothic vaulted ceiling alone defies photography; my pictures do not do it justice. You must go see it for yourself. On this Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time, the parishoners were friendly and welcoming, and the homily offered practical advice for anyone: always tell the truth unless it will hurt someone. Refusing to share the truth isn't the same as lying. Today, Father Scott said, "it's like when a wife asks her husband, 'honey, do these jeans make me look fat?' The husband doesn't need to be brutally honest. He doesn't need to answer, 'no, dear, your hips make you look fat.'" See, that's great advice; there's no need to be brutally honest, because that kind of honesty is just too brutal. His message was this: be kind, love your neighbor, and tell the truth without hurting others. If I lived here, this would be my church.

Yelp
Disappointing went here today with my spouse for prayer only to find all the doors locked? Free parking on streets due to president's day but when lock all the doors to the basilica?

Yelp
Beautiful, historic, and HOLY! God and the Blessed Virgin can be felt there ... along with Sts. Damien and Marianne, whose relics are enshrined in the Cathedral. IT IS A PLACE OF PEACE.

Yelp
A jewel of incomparable peace and beauty right here in Honolulu. Consecrated in 1864 (the year before the American Civil War ended), this is One of the oldest cathedrals in the US. it is nearing the end of its restoration to bring it back to the previous splendor and architectural excellence of the time of Saints Damien de Veuster and Marianne Cope. Construction is of coral blocks covered with plaster. There is a display of several artifacts next door at the Kamiano Center. Highly recommend a visit here both to view the architecture and to worship God during the most holy sacrifice of the Mass.

Yelp
Our Lady of Peace Cathedral is an absolutely stunning church in the heart of Honolulu. This gem has been around since 1843, holding deep sacred roots and rich historical significance. I usually attend Our Lady of Peace's first Fridays mass (every month at 7pm) which is done in the beautiful Traditional Latin rite. Definitely a place to check out to be inspired, to pray and to learn more about the Catholic faith.

Yelp
Awesome and Beautiful Catholic Cathedral! I came here with my cousin and sister for early Sunday mass while we were in Hawaii for my cousin's bachelorette. The parish is so welcoming! The priest asked who was visiting from out of town and they gave us each a shell lei to feel welcome! AWWWW! The majority of the parish are Filipino. They sang some songs in Hawaiian and Tagalog from what I remember. The building is so beautiful, located in downtown Honolulu. There is even a gift shop for visitors where they have gorgeous rosaries. I picked up a beautiful amber-colored rosary for around $20-25?. They had Hawaiian painted ipus as well! If I were a local I would definitely sign up to be part of this parish! Thanks for the warm welcome! Mahalo!

Yelp
Just walked in to show my wife how beautiful this church is but lent service was just starting. We stayed for the service since my wife is catholic. She loved the service. This is a nice big church, like all the stain glass and also air conditioned.

Yelp
I discovered Our Lady of Peace while doing a walking tour from Chinatown. Later I returned for a weekday Mass. In every respect I loved this church. One, it's old and it's beautiful. They're doing some renovating on part of it, but every aspect of this church is beautiful from the stained glass to the statues (look up all around the ceiling!) to the ceiling. The Stations were beautifully depicted, and the stained glass in the windows depicted scenes from the Holy Rosary. The Mass is reverent and liturgically correct, the priest gave a good homily, and all were welcome from tourist to the homeless. It was also open for people to pop in outside of Mass hours, unlike some of the other Catholic churches in the area. It had a more welcoming feel. This will be my "home parish" on future visits to the area, for certain.

Yelp
Holding the distinction of being the oldest cathedral in continuous use in the United States the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace is also where St. Damien of Molokai was ordained in 1864. This beautiful Romanesque building is located in the Fort St Mall area of downtown Honolulu and the Museum and Art Gallery is located next door. Check it out for there are many beautiful items for sale. Make sure to visit during the holiday season as the Cathedral and the downtown area is transformed into a winter wonderland here in Honolulu. Mass schedule Sunday: 6:00am, 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:30am, 12:00 noon, 6:00pm Weekdays: 6:30am, 12:00 noon Saturdays: 7:00am, 12:00 noon, 5:00pm (vigil mass) Parking Free parking on Sundays in the Century Square parking garage. Yelp
Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace is an architectural gem and a quiet paradise in the middle of the bustling downtown cityscape. Walking in is surreal, to imagine the history that took place here. It sits on land given to the Catholic Church by Kamehameha III after generations of violent suppression of the Catholic faith in Congregationalist Hawaii. Father Damien became a priest here. It was here that Mother Marianne Cope asked for the bishop's help to go to Molokai to tend to the lepers. The funeral of Joseph Kahahawai of "The Massie Trial" and Clarence Darrow fame took place here. The parishioners of the Cathedral are amazing, always welcoming as if you were a long-missed member of the family! Through the extensive remodeling, the church has lost some of its original charm but still is beautiful. The church also has an amazing Samoan choir that is a heaven-sent complement of the Aeolian Skinner pipe organ, the oldest of its kind in the Western hemisphere! I love the indigenous flavor added to the ancient Roman Rites: ti leaves, ancient and modern Hawaiian musical traditions of oli and hula, wooden calabashes. Tourists should make it a point to worship here on Sunday! It is a remarkable expression of Catholicism in Hawaiian fashion. The most lively Sunday service is the 9:00 am Mass.

Yelp
This church is known as the oldest cathedral in the United States that is still in use. It was built in 1843 during the missionary era. It is an historical attraction. I was really disappointed when I visited Hawaii and came to this church only to find it closed! Because "urgent news" reported that a big hurricane was on it's way. And boy...did that drizzle of rain hit hard! It was nothing if it I was able to walk around that day. Hurricane Iselle, they named it, actually ended up hitting the Big Island than Oahu. At least I got a few pictures outside of the church but would have made my trip much more complete if I were able to go inside. Maybe next time..

Yelp
I photographed a wedding here in August and really liked this church! The inside is vast and beautiful. The seating is unique, with guests facing toward each other rather than toward the front. The wedding coordinator is so nice, knowledgable, and has a great singing voice too! The only hard part was driving to it; it's a little difficult to find with GPS!

Yelp
I have only gone here once. It's right by the Diocese of Honolulu on Bishop St. The place looks really old but that's what I like about it. It stands pretty tall and intimidating almost. They have a confession booth kind of like the one in the movie "Desperado" with Antonio Banderas... A classic! You could pretty much pray here on almost any day of the week. I'm just assuming because I went inside after gave a few doors a push until I got in on a Wednesday. I was looking for a priest to bless my medals which I got from my California trip. Not sure who father is from here but he was very nice when I went the the Diocese of Honolulu. He did a really quick blessing of my medals. The Diocese of Honolulu looks cool too. They are always willing to help and they are really nice. Now to the main part, the inside of the church. There is a holy water well on the middle of the church. The inside is very nice and intimidating. The pews are old school. The altar and everything in the front is so nice. God bless this place!

Yelp
Such an immaculate church. Everything is pristine and so sacred. I can't wait to come back again. The style of the mass very traditional, but it was very special. My better half and I were looking for a church that displayed beautiful statues. This place was definitely it!

Yelp
"Greater love hath no man that this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace was built by the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. I came to visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace to see the museum devoted to Father Damien de Veuster during my visit to Oahu in May 1997. That was my sole reason for visiting this church. I enjoy learning about the history of the saints. And this place was a must for me to visit to learn more about the Belgian priest Father Damien de Veuster of Belgium who is now officially St. Damien deVeuster. He devoted his life to serving those with Hansen's Disease aka Leprosy on the Hawaiian island of Molokai. He was ordained here at Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace two months after his arrival in May 1864. I remember reflecting in front of one of the portraits of Father Damien deVeuster in the museum. I bought a few postcards and a book on Fr. Damien before leaving. I did get to visit and walk around the cathedral in between services. It is a beautiful Romanesque style church. I will have to pay another visit and attend a mass service here on my next visit. I am glad I was able to see and visit the oldest cathedral in continuous use in the United States in Hawaii. Blessed Be. Fresh Yelp Review #79 for 2013

Yelp
This beautiful, golden painted catholic church is nestled in the middle of the busy downtown area. You'll miss it if you don't look hard. Parking is always free on Sundays for church go'ers and validation is provided if attending mass or confession on Saturdays. Otherwise, out of pocket parking is usually pretty cheap, about $3, or you can opt for street parking. This church is very well kept, clean and quiet, despite being in the center of downtown. When inside, pay particular attention to the details on the walls, the beauty of the gold glimmering paint, lavishly painted Virgin Marys and Saints. One can appreciate the antique atmosphere.

Yelp
Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace One would think that right in front of HPU would be a protestant church. No, place is really important- Everything built up all around Lady of Peace but the Church stood strong. Compared to mainland churches- Peace is a smaller church. The architecture feels old and stable. The church is the traditional feeling but it continues in the practices of the church. The seating is old style wood pews. Not comfortable but familiar to those that grew up in the church. It is small with large columns that block the view if you sit in the back rows. There really is only so much you can do with columns obstructing views. But the priest will move for homilies for example so that he can see the faces of all the congregation. Easter Services Friday are phenomenally crowded. Wall to wall Philipinos and spot few of us Haole, being that it is not a Sunday. Ordinary Sundays, not much is going on downtown but the church is crowded with a good mix of visitors and locals. The priest always welcomes new comers that arrive on time. For being a downtown church, the number or lack of community groups/ organizations surprises me. I would like to see more youth/ young adult groups... I know, if I want something done right I have to do it myself... Just surprises me a little. I wish there was more offered. Parking can be a pain in the butt. It is downtown, so it surprises me how many people do drive and don't go somewhere that has easier parking. There is a lot but it is only so big. Taking the bus though on Sundays in that neighborhood depending on who you are is kinda not what I would suggest though. Car pool is best. Petty stained glass. Very bright church which makes great photos.

Yelp
This is a beautiful church in the heart of the downtown area. I especially like that there is a mass every weekday at noon. A co-worker and I attended the noon mass yesterday and I can see this being a regular part of my work week, especially if I can't make Sunday services. Here is a little history of the church: The Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace -- also known by its original French name Cathédrale de Notre Dame de la Paix, its Portuguese variant Catedral de Nossa Senhora da Paz and its Hawaiian derivative Malia o ka Malu Hale Pule Nui -- is the Mother Church of the Diocese of Honolulu and houses the cathedra of the Bishop of Honolulu in Honolulu, Hawaii. Another cathedra was installed in the Co-Cathedral of Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus, also serving the diocese. The Cathedral was built during the Hawaii's missionary era and served as the mother church of the Vicariate Apostolic of the Hawaiian Islands. It was dedicated by Msgr. Maigret on August 15, 1843 under the title of Our Lady of Peace or Malia O Ka Malu. It holds the distinction of being the oldest cathedral in continuous use in the United States, as well as the church in which Saint Damien of Molokai was ordained to the presbyterate on May 21, 1864. For these reasons, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Though older, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Archdiocese of Baltimore was a co-cathedral throughout most of its history and the Saint Louis Cathedral in the Archdiocese of New Orleans was closed for a long period of time in its history.

Yelp
Nestled in the business district of downtown Honolulu is the Cathedral of our Lady of Peace. I have been coming to this church since I was a little girl and this place holds a lot of memories, especially in my high school years - I received my communion here. Looking from the outside, you would think that it's just an old, tall, white-painted church with HPU students, with the occasional homeless dude, sitting on the stairs. But you would never expect the church to be an architectural gem until you go inside the church to look for yourself. It is apparently the oldest Catholic cathedral in use within the U.S. and one of the oldest buildings in the downtown area. Inside, there are two floors to the church. The balcony areas (second floor) and the main floor where the action happens. The second floor also holds the church singers. I actually wanted to volunteer my voice to them but I suck at singing so it was a no go for me. Ok, so I've been coming here since I was six years old and the pianist and a few of the singers still continue to lend their talents. By the way, I'm 23. Can you say, dedication? Anyway, nothing has really changed, except for the holy water fountain that was set up a few years back near the side entrance/exit. Renovation plans have been up in the air as long as I could remember but as one of the yelpers stated, renovations are expensive. They also bought out the Scientology building next door and converted it to a mini photo museum. I still need to visit that place. Also parking sucks big time because it is located in downtown. It's free on Sunday's but not the rest of the week! Mass is pretty epic because of the ambiance and the choir singers. My favorite priest had to be Father Marvin. He made mass more interesting. I don't know if he's still there since I haven't gone to church in a while...the last time I went was last month on the weekday. I stepped in quickly and left. Christmas time at Lady of Peace is a go go go too! It makes me feel like it really is Christmas! On an ending note, If you are of a different religion, you have no religion or whatever, I still recommend you to visit this cathedral. It's a very beautiful place! If you want to see how the church looked before those building were built around it, check this site out .. http://www.cathedralofourladyofpeace.com/history.htm

Yelp
Our grandmother invited us to mass back in 2005 at the Cathedral. It was love at first mass. =) I've been to other parishes and the service music and atmosphere at the Cathedral is magnificent. The hymns and beautiful Hawaiian prayers they sing are gorgeous. There is no other parish that compares. I enjoy soaking in all the details of the Cathedral. It definitely has personality. You want to check out the detailing on the ceilings (although, they are in need for restoration), the beautiful pipe organ on the second floor, the Father Damien relic, etc. This place has sooo much history -- the building is from the same coral stone that the Kawaiahao Church came from, it is the oldest church in the U.S. in continuous use and the clock tower is the oldest in Hawaii. My husband and I received our full initiation at here as well as receiving the sacrament of marriage back in April. (I also received my 1st Eucharist here.) BTW, the Samoan and Cathedral Choirs ROCK! The church is in downtown so you don't want to leave your belongings unattended. Parking is a hassle b/c you're going to have to park in the Century Square building (I believe max height is 6' -- looks like less). If we're lucky enough, we find street parking.

Yelp
I've been coming to this church ever since childhood. I remember my mom and dad would take me and my sister to mass every Sunday. Back then I paid very little attention to what went on during mass but was very amused by all the architecture, statues and all those prints on the ceiling. How cool I thought. I enjoyed watching people from the balconies and listening to the choir with that cool-sounding organ. After moving to Kalihi, I didn't come as often (St. Anthony's was just across the street for me). It was only until I moved back to the Downtown area a couple years ago that I started coming to mass here. The same architecture, murals and stained glass are still there. The balcony on one side has been so infested with termites that it's now closed off to parishonors until enough monies can be raised to make the repairs. The choir is still there, with the same organ and strong, beautiful voices leading us into song. Now my reasons for coming to church are even more apparent as an adult (!), I have come to appreciate all the elements of this church even more. Not to mention the fact that the Bishop Francis DiLorenzo is also based here (yes, big ups!). I also appreciate that parishoners come from all walks of life and backgrounds. I've met several people who are visitors as well. Parking is free on Sundays and masses occur almost every hour from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. I certainly hope we raise enough money to make the necessary repairs. Wouldn't want to see it deteriorate - I hold so many fond memories at the church!

Yelp
Really nice church despite the small size. The alter is almost towards the middle of the church which means if you're towards the back, you'll be staring at the back of the celebrants. Despite the size, they do know how to get the lines moving.

Yelp
Beautiful Cathedral, can't wait to see it once they are done with the remodel. A little run down at this point in it's life. But the parishioners more then make up for the work in progress.

Yelp
This church holds a special place in my heart since it's where me and my husband got married. It looks small and simple outside, but inside is an ornate and elegant cathedral with lots of history. The people at this church also make it great. Father John Berger and Cantor Alika Cullen played a huge part in making our wedding ceremony so special.

Yelp
I have been attending several different catholic churches all my life and by far this one is the best. You know you found a good church when you go 1/2 an hour early just to get a good seat in comparison to the other churches that you usually get there a few minutes late after it begins. The church is absolutely beautiful but it gets really crowded 5mins before and 5mins after mass starts so you need to get there a little early to get a seat. Also due to its location on special days like palm Sunday or ash wednesday show up real early because the church gets filled to the rafters.

Yelp
i was recently part of a tour at our lady of peace. parking is directly underground from the church--it's the century square parking. this church has many memories for me, since it's where my mom, grandma and i would go to mass when i was little enough to look cute in super shiny mary janes, ankle socks with lace trim, and pastel dresses with poufy sleeves and crinoline. the cathedral itself looks pretty much like it did back then, except older and needing restoration. i understand from the current priest that (very expensive) repairs are coming. did you know that to restore just one of the golden angels on the ceiling to its proper glory costs $5,000? and there have got to be at least a dozen of them in there. the clock at the top of the cathedral is oahu's (if not hawaii's) oldest continuously working timepiece. in fact, our lady of peace (which is constructed of coral) is the oldest, continuously open catholic cathedral in the US? others have burnt down/were otherwise destroyed and been rebuilt or rebuilt with one wall from the original structure. stained glass dates back to the mid/late 1800s. the altar has the bone of a christian from roman times, as does the tabernacle behind it. pretty cool for a house of JC.

Yelp
One of the most popular and well known landmarks in the downtown Honolulu area. I got baptized in this church so this place holds a special place in my life and in my heart. I think this is definitely one of the more intricate and radiating Catholic churches on the island. There is a lot of history in the church which also plays a big role in the development and involvement in Oahu's Hawaiian history back in the day. I don't usually go here since I live elsewhere not in town but when in doubt, this is always the place to go for mass. If anything I usually go at noon. The services are always elegant and peaceful. The interior, vibe, and atmosphere is very unique. The exterior may look unappealing but a don't judge a book by it's cover. Once you step in you are just going to be like wow. For Sunday masses, parking is free via the church's parking structure from Bishop St or street parking. It's conveniently located in the heart of Fort Street Mall and right next to Hawaii Pacific University Downtown campus right on that intersection on South Beretania. You can't miss it. Yelp
My experience at this church was AMAZING!! The place itself was extraordinary as well as the church ceremony itself. I would have to say that this was the most festive church service I've ever been to in my life.

Yelp
Wonderful Church in Downtown Honolulu and one of the oldest Catholic churches in the USA. Parking at Century Square in Downtown. You must visit the Gallery located next to the church and get some souvenir items including Father Damien and recently canonized Sister Marion Cope. Great history, great place to pray and many wonderful glass paintings, and sculptures. Must see.

Yelp
Have not been to this location in over 30 years. My mom wanted to attend confession, and it allowed me the opportunity to look at this historical location. built in 1864 and dedicated to Father Damien. Its worth the visit!

Yelp
This place was very hard to find. I circled the blocked too many time until I saw the long line of cars turning into a parking. Looks like a very old church and it was absolutely gorgeous inside. Downfall is that I couldnt see very much of it from the angle of my pew. Lots of families go here, and it is packed at the 9 am mass.

Yelp
I love the art, statues, and graphics they have in and outside of the church. My family and I have been going to this church for a little over 2 years and I absolutely love it. The people are friendly and concern about making sure that our paper work is in so we can become a part of the church.

Yelp
I was unable to get a flight out of Hickam AFB on Easter Sunday, 2014, and needed a place to attend mass, this was the place as they had a 1230 Mass that day. I had never been to this church, however it was not too hard to locate. What was more difficult was finding parking. The Cathedral is surrounded by high rise buildings on two sides. There is also a two or three story building with stores and shops on the ground floor outside the front of it. The only kind of clear view of the church from the street is from behind, about 70 yards or so off of Bishop street. You'll have to park on side streets or at one of the public pay parking lots a block away. It was standing room only when I walked in. there are two upstairs areas that run the length of the church with seating, however the upstairs area on the right side was closed off due to termite damage, according to a sign posted at it's entry way. After mass I did some wandering around to take pictures. There's a lot of history here, over 170 years worth, so bring a camera.

Yelp
Beautiful historic church!! We come for the 12pm mass. They will be undergoing renovation soon and can't wait to see the turnout. It does look run down on the outside but I still think the inside of beautiful. Hopefully they will incorporate more seating.

Yelp
I recently visited this church as I am on a journey to finding a new church since moving here in Oahu. I must say I want to give this one less star for parking and the church itself was hard to find, but that's not their fault plus I'd feel guilty or something so 5 stars it is! It was at a location I'm not quite used to because it was surrounded and buried between buildings. There was also some lady down the street distraught and screaming which I found uncanny. We wanted to walk around before the service started , but that lady scared me and I was scared for my daughter so we went ahead and went inside the church. It was beautiful inside the church, it was a sweet escape from the nonsense that was going on outside. The church is a way from where I lived, so I don't think I'll be coming here for regular services (not that there was anything wrong with it), but maybe only for special services like Easter and Christmas.

Yelp
Cathedral of Our Lady of PEACE. Yes, Peace! The vibe here is actually very peaceful, and I do feel at peace when I attend mass. I come here all the way from Waipahu, just because its such a beautiful wonderful place of worship. The outside may look plain and simple, but when you go inside, its just beautiful. The ceiling does show signs of aging, but it really is ornate. My aunty would take me with her occasionally to attend mass here ever since I was small, and I LOVED it. I'm happy she showed me the cathedral. Now if Im around town, I'd never fail to stop by and say a few prayers. The 9AM and 1030AM choir are the best!
