Magnificent cathedral that is definitely worth seeing. Very well maintained, allowing for a brief moment of tranquilly. Remembering that this is a place of prayer is crucial, and you should dress and behave appropriately. The area around the cathedral is also really charming; there's a beautiful square where you may unwind and listen to the soft splashing of the fountain.

Rating: 4/5 Price: 5/5 Attraction: 4/5 Entertainment: 3/5 Time: 3/5 Type of entertainment: introverted Short: - it is free to enter, you can’t beat free. - the church is beautiful with making wood work, candles, decorations, stained glass and paintings. - just a church beautiful not super entertaining, however very beautiful. - there isn’t much that happened there when I was there, so no more than 10 mins for me. It’s just a church that is very pretty. Details: there is a gift shop. I would recommend going to the church of agios minas over this church as it is a lot more beautiful, and it’s only 10 mins away.

Beautiful church in the heart of Heraklion Saint Titus skull is held here! It is so calming and relaxing going in for a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city! We also passed by at night and this is when the stained glass windows come to life with all the light from inside the church! Beautiful!!!

It is one of the known places in Heraklion , very nice and peaceful small church but architecture was not very ancient. Not air conditioned .

A captivating stop near Liontaria! This historic cathedral dates back to the 10th century and has seen Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman transformations before becoming the Orthodox cathedral it is today. It houses the relic of St Titus, Crete’s first bishop, returned from Venice in 1966. The building’s eclectic architecture, an almost square basilica topped by a dome, blends history and style. A serene spot for reflection and photos in the heart of the old town. Highly recommended!

The Holy Cathedral of Saint Titus is one of the most important religious and historical landmarks in Heraklion. Located just a short walk from the city’s bustling shopping streets, the cathedral stands out with its grand stone façade and peaceful courtyard. Originally built during the Byzantine era and later reconstructed under Venetian and Ottoman rule, the church has seen many transformations. Today, it serves as the spiritual heart of the city and houses relics of Saint Titus, the patron saint of Crete. Inside, the high ceilings, stained glass, and chandeliers create a reverent, tranquil atmosphere. It’s free to enter, and visitors are welcome to take quiet time for reflection or admire the architectural beauty. The church is still active, with regular services and special celebrations, particularly on the feast day of Saint Titus in August. The surrounding square offers benches and shade, making it a lovely place to rest. Photography is allowed, but visitors should dress modestly and behave respectfully.
