Cathedral of San Cristóbal de La Laguna

What a great experience! The audio guided tour speeds through the treasury but that was fine, we spent the most time in this section examining the relics. The tour was fun and easy to understand. The alter pieces are all fantastic and there is a great huge purgatory painting and opposite that a giant gold baroque alter piece that has to be seen to be believed

Looks gorgeous but closed....even on a Sunday.... a bir strange for a Christian cathedral?

It has a calm, dignified atmosphere and is an important landmark of La Laguna. That said, you should not expect something spectacular – it is more a place for a short visit and reflection rather than a major attraction. Unfortunately, the experience was negatively affected by the staff at the ticket desk. The young woman working there was unfriendly towards tourists, which felt inappropriate for such a place and detracted from the overall impression. A warmer attitude would greatly improve the visitor experience.

Nice place, very atmospheric. Was surprised ro pay for entry, but with the digital guide it was worth the money. Some beautiful altar pieces on display. Great experience, felt very connected. Lit a few candles for family and friend lost.

Didn't go inside, but beautiful building from outside

It was closed around 1pm on a Wednesday, so couldn’t see inside, but grateful for the beautiful cathedral in the heart of this amazing UNESCO protected city.

In the cathedral, you can see a beautiful statue and stained glass window of St. Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of travelers. The decoration of the cathedral is rich enough for a religious building located on the island.

The Holy Cathedral in the historic center of San Cristóbal de La Laguna is absolutely stunning! Located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, it has a rich history dating back to the 16th century when it was first built as the Parish of Los Remedios. It became a cathedral in 1819 and was beautifully reconstructed in the early 20th century. The architecture is breathtaking, and its historical significance makes it a must-visit when in La Laguna. Highly recommend for history and architecture lovers!
