Cathedral of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary

The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Roman Catholic cathedral in the town of Rab, Croatia. It is the seat of the Diocese of Rab. The cathedral was built in the 12th century and is one of the most important architectural monuments in Croatia. The cathedral is a three-nave basilica with a bell tower. The interior of the cathedral is decorated with frescoes and mosaics. The cathedral is a popular tourist destination and is worth a visit for its beauty and historical significance.

I spent a few days in December, 2019 and went to listen to some chants inside the Cathedral. Several klapas (choirs) of Rab island sung traditional croatian songs and even known Chistmas carols. Wonderful as almost everything in Croatia.

Beautiful cathedral above the old town center of Rab. There is a terrace behind the cathedral from which you have a wonderful view.

Nice church.
