Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Saint-Flour

Fantastic cathedral located in the heart of the town of Saint-Flour in Cantal region, on the Place d'Armes lined with arcades and towards which many old streets converge. In Gothic style, it was completed at the end of the 15th century, on the site of a Romanesque basilica, but was severely damaged during the Revolution. As with other religious buildings in the region, the material used is, as is often the case, that found on site, in this case the black lava of Liozargues (Roffiac, Cantal) which gives it a characteristic dark color.
