Catlins Cafe

We were heading to nugget point and stopped by this cafe. Firstly the ambience was fantastic and so were the people. We met many new people and they were all so friendly and sweet. We ordered a mocha and a herbal drink Ughhhh loved everything sip of it. The sugar was perfect, the chocolate was just so so good. The herbal drink was also fantastic and my husband loved it. They have beautiful paintings all across the cafe and a beautiful chess board. The staff were super friendly and so full of love and life. Loved this stop Will recommend to all.

Yummy food and great coffee. The eggs Benedict seemed small for the price with one English muffin split underneath. Was very nice though, and the filo special was yummy.

The woman who took our order was very kind and friendly. The vanilla latte with ice and the hot chocolate were very very good. The place was cozy with a fireplace. The savory scone and the muffin were tasty too! Recommend it if you’re in the area!

We arrived at 7:15pm and the door said closed, but they were kind enough to come unlock the door as we were walking away and invited us in for food from their display cabinet, as their kitchen had already closed. Super helpful for us because everything else in town had closed and we were hoping for something to eat! Super friendly, food was delicious & the ambience was nice inside! Definitely recommend. The staff are lovely and considerate.

Stopped by on impulse for a coffee and morning snack and were delighted by the quality of the coffee and food, the atmosphere and the wonderful friendliness of the staff. The scotch eggs were particularly good and excellent value. Would highly recommend.

We had an incredible lunch experience! The curry flavors, Thai meatball and noodle soup, and pork spring rolls were robust and delicious. It's worth noting that the curry is made to order from scratch, so there might be a bit of a wait, but trust me, it's worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the entrees and recommend you give this place a try. Ps, the owner and staff are friendly and make you feel welcome.

Nice café in a little town of owaka ,the help opened door for me,chivalry still around,nice experience and fire going which was nice after a cold ride on motorcycle

Caitlin's has an amazing cafe in a catering trailer. My crispy chicken sandwich and fries were excellent. My husband enjoyed his pineapple burger. A quirky spot with fun staff . picnic tables to eat your meal . Go for it !

A good place for stopping over for a meal on your way to the attractions within the Catlins. Food is decent, quite a good selection of sweets, mains and sides. Chilli pie was good, and chips we're excellent. The outdoor seating is perfect on a fine afternoon as well. Smoking is not discriminated upon, great job!
